  1. Are you getting on enough water/liquids? Sounds like dehydration. Just thought, I'm no exactly sure. However, those are symptoms of dehydration. Have tried switching your protein shakes?
  2. This surgery was pretty easy for me. I'm 5 days post op and feel amazing! I had surgery on Monday Oct 12th and was discharged the next day. The day of surgery I saw up and walking a couple of hours after surgery. My stomach felt sore, like I did 1000 sit ups. The pain I endured was from the gas they pumped me with. That was most uncomfortable part of recovery. On Tues I was discharged, came home and only needed to one dose of Tylenol. I walked and walked to help with the gas pain. The gas pain was horrid, even the burping would hurt. By day 4 I was feeling much better. I'm able to walk easily, the soreness in my stomach is barely there. Showering was great, I used a shower chair to prevent me falling. I sleep in a power recliner, but I'm able to sit up and down easily in my couch.
  3. @@60&goin4it, thank you so much! How many post days are you? The gas pain is so bad, I can't even take a deep breath. I walk for hours. Still not done. Do you remember how long it took for it to be gone completely? This is the hardest part. Also getting the fluids in. I didn't come close to getting 48 oz today. I'll work harder tomorrow to get in my fluids. I've been sipping all day. I was getting in 3 oz an hour, but that's not enough. I'll take any suggestions you may have?
  4. I'm 3 days post-op. I was sent home yesterday. I only sent one night in the hospital, which was fine by me be a I got no sleep. Someone was on my room every 10 minutes around the clock. So far the pain has been from gas. That has been my most difficult part of this. I walk and walk, but it's so hard for that gas to love. It's hard for me to breathe yesterday because of the gas pain. I walked a lot through the night. So it's much better this morning. Today is my first day for protein shakes and vitamins. I hope it goes ok. Other than that, my my body is just sore. Hoping it gets better day by day.
  5. I have difficulties with finding a good protein powder and shake. I have an allergy to whey protein. Before I loved Jay Robbs strawberry made with almond milk, it was delicious! Tasted like a strawberry milk shake. Now I use organic Valley Organic Fuel
  6. @@WoodenHearts and @@Victoria Mora I gained an entire shoe size when I got pregnant. Was a size 6 shoe and now a 7 and then a 7 wide as the weight increased over the years. I Never went down and I lost 50 lbs in 4 weeks after I delivered my daughter.
  7. @Tammy_RN @@shakiki123 @@Karma J Riddell Henson @@ChunkyChocolate @@Smallfry06 @@ByeByeAdipose I wanted to wish all of you good luck on your surgery tomorrow. Hope your liquid diet went ok. I also wanted to wish you a smooth and non complicated recovery. Please keep us posted on how you're doing....and I'll do the same. So far I'm still excited, not nervous yet. However, I think I'm getting a sore throat. I wonder if they'll cancel my surgery???? What do you all think? Thanks
  8. Congratulations @Deneah. That must be a wonderful feeling? I've been reading from so many posts that it can be so very different to keep your numbers under control.
  9. My surgery is Monday
  10. YES IT IS! How long have you both been on liquids? Is it only Clear Liquids or can you have Protein shakes too? I'm only on clear liquids. This is day 2 of 3, well actually 4. My surgery is Monday. You can't eat or drink anything the day of. Hand in there! We can do it. It's definitely worth it. That's what I keep telling myself. I was texting a friend, I told her I was damn near chanting to myself, LOL! ????
  11. I didn't have that orientation. Is this something you do right before surgery?
  12. I'm allergic to whey Protein. So my options for Protein shakes are milk based (lactose free though) or plant based. The plant based have no disgusting! I've tried Vega One and Raw Fit. I've tried egg whites base Protein shake by Jay Robb...GROSS!!! Actually when I wasn't allergic... Jay Robbs strawberry Protein Powder mixed vanilla almond milk, tasted like a strawberry milkshake. My daily choice now is Organic Valley Organic Fuel, they're already mixed, they come in vanilla and milk chocolate. Absolutely delicious! They're not too sweet, they don't taste like they're trying to mask a taste with sweetener. Definitely my favorite! You can mix the vanilla with different sugar free Torani syrups . Oh, they are expensive. I pay $5 for one bottle. Good luck!!!!
  13. @dancingqueene...congratulations! I'm so excited for you. I know you were concerned about getting approved. Congratulations to you again!!!
  14. Thank you so much! It's so real to me now.

  21. Thank you! I've had my surgery date for a couple of months. I have to meet all requirements for approval. I hope so too. Thank you! ????
  22. My surgery is October 12th. I haven't received my approval yet. I'm on pins and needles waiting. The waiting is driving me NUT!!!! I emailed my doctor's office today. They contacted my insurance (Aetna) is still pending. The patient coordinator said if they haven't heard back from them today, they'll give them a call tomorrow morning. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else have Aetna? If so, where do you check on your member website if you've been approved? Would it say so in the tab for Communications under letters or messages? I'm driving myself crazy. ????
  23. That comment from a friend would've really and pissed me off....BIG TIME!!! That was supposed to be a friend.
  24. @ Bostongirlforever I ordered my power recliner some time last week I think. Nevertheless it'll be here soon. I have a platform bed, I knew I wouldn't be able to get in and out of it easily. I also ordered a shower stool. My shower is extremely slippery and nothing to hold onto. I ordered it from Walmart or Amazon. Not really sure, I have ordered pretty much everything I'll need.
