  1. I picked up some PB2 powder last night at costco, it was on sale and I couldn't resist. Has anyone tried it yet? I was thinking it may be a good twist in a Protein shake. I also want to thank everyone again that has jumped into this thread and commented.

  7. Looks like we have quite a few August/September sleevers. Makes me feel a little less anxious knowing I am not alone in this. For a surgery date I am shooting for the beginning of September, during the long holiday weekend. It's after my son's birthday, before mine and before all the big holidays. I haven't had any blood work or tests yet. I am anxiously awaiting the next steps.

@@MOMMY2MGM finally someone in South Florida! That makes me so happy! I am in Palm Beach Gardens but lived in Broward County for over 30 years. I wish you the best success on your journey! If you ever want someone local-ish to talk to please feel free to reach out. I started last month, next Tuesday is my second appointment.

    Monday is the big day!

Hang in there and just go slow. Congrats too.
  12. I really like the idea of trying the Protein powder now, I am going to pick up some this weekend to try. I am also going to order a sample pack of the Syntrax "nectar", I have heard a lot of people really like it. My psych appointment got moved out until next month and I keep wondering when do I get to meet the nutritionist? I am also toying around with the idea of a counselor/therapist to have someone to talk to, is anyone else thinking of that or doing it? Specifically someone who deals with weight issues. I just know that my surgeon is an hour away and the support groups they do at his practice I will likely not be able to make so I want to have someone to vent to. @@jobillandjosh I like the idea of using myfitnesspal, I will check it out and @@grace-not-perfection I love the dixie cup idea, have you seen all the muffin tin recipes too? I started a secret/hidden board on pinterest where I have been tagging recipes, bariatric tips, dream clothes and things to keep me motivated about surgery. If anyone wants an invite to my board for ideas please send me a personal message with your email and I will invite you. Thanks again to everyone who has participated in this thread, I don't get to reply usually until the evening (this forum is blocked at my office and the mobile app leaves a lot to be desired) but I do read all of your replies and ideas and it helps so much!
  13. I can't even seem to wait until next Tuesday, I don't know how I am going to survive till September! hahahah! What are you guys doing to prepare? Stocking up on anything? Every time I am at the store I pick up broth or a pack of Jello. I haven't gotten into any serious preparations yet. Surreal is a good choice of words to describe it all. Slow motion.
  14. I hope so too!!! I am just spending my time now distracting myself with research, YouTube videos and learning as much as I can!
  15. it does seem far doesn't it? and yet we are 2 weeks into June already
  16. @@byebyefat that's great news!
  17. My next appointment with the Dr is the 23rd of this month. I feel like everything is going in slow motion but at the same time really fast. I am nervous and excited but so glad that I found this site and that I am not in it alone.

    So Excited!

Glad to hear that it went well! Walk and don't be afraid to take your meds if you need them.
  19. Hi everyone! I am new to the site and just took the first few steps last Friday in what I know will be a long journey. I met my surgeon Dr. Radecke who I absolutely adore and we are aiming for an early September surgery (VSG). I know I still have some bumps to overcome (meeting my insurance deductible in 3 months would be one of them? can I pull it off?? LOL!! I will be going to every freaking Dr. I can think of between now and then). I told my son on Saturday, he's 10 and I am so incredibly proud of how he responded and is being very supportive. I did also want to say thank you in advance for all the posts I have read so far. Everyone has something to offer and I have learned so much already! That's it for now, I just didn't want to be a post troll.
