  1. Coming up on 90 lbs lost. The strange thing is I am kind of having a hard time dealing with it mentally. I still feel like a 300 lbs girl in my head.

      I don't think that's unusual. We've all had the heavier one staring back at us from the mirror for so long, it takes time for the brain to catch up.

      I agree with 2goldengirl. This is a huge change and it is hard to mentally visualize ourselves as we really are versus the heavyset person we've been seeing for so many years. I watched a great video of a woman who went through the surgery and she talked about how she is still shocked when men give her appreciative looks. She said she still wonders who they are looking at until she remembers she lost weight. I think that is the worst thing about our society...we are left feeling "outside" of normal human interactions because we look differently than the thin people around us. And then suddenly, we are thrust back into that. I am very new, just six weeks out from surgery, but I am already preparing myself mentally for those challenges. Because they are very real.
