  1. Same here, surgery 7/28 and pre-op diet starts 7/14. My pre-op diet will consist of 3 protein shakes and 2-300cal or lower pre packaged meals. I think I will be okay with that, but I'm really nervous about the liquid and puréed stage afterwards. How will I get all my fluids and protein in? What are good choices? I had 6months with a nutritionist and I know we went over everything, I even have all kinds of paperwork, but I feel like I either overwhelmed or drawing a blank. I guess I better get it together before the 28th. Lol!!

  4. Tuesday July 28th for me too! YEA!!!!!!!
  5. Sarahleah, Welcome, I'm pretty new here as well. Yes I've ran across a few people asking me the same thing. Especially after you start losing weight with the dietician and pre-op visits. You'll get "why can't you just continue to do what you're doing", they don't understand that if it was that simple for us to achieve permanent weight loss WE WOULD. Stay positive and do what's best for you. Good luck
  6. Cool I can do that. One more question for you Dan, how was your pre-op liquid, liver shrinking diet? Were you required to do 2 weeks like I've read on other post? Alicia
  7. My most worthwhile advice would be to walk, I was up and about after an hour of getting to my room, its the only relief from the gas pain I found. I was only in overnight but the staff was excellent and very helpful. I'm pretty sure walking every hour or so in the hospital helped the recovery be as easy as it has been. Thanks everyone for your kind words
  8. WOW!!!! That's great, I'm glad you're doing well. Not only am I excited for you, but Dr Teel will be doing my procedure on 7/28/15, so I'm SUPER excited to hear how pleaed you are. Do you have any advice for me before going in? Continued success to you Dan!!! Alicia
  9. Great! I too am addicted to this web page. It's sooooo informative, any question you can think of ( and some you don't) you'll find on here. Alicia
  10. Awesome! I am just getting the hang of this forum, so glad I found it. I have soooo many questions and concerns!
  11. Yes I would love to here how it's going for those that are scheduled earlier than us late July sleevers. Kbpaulie I'm sure you're not the only one struggling a bit with the pre-op diet. I feel like for the most I've made a real change in my diet, but there are still some things that won't fly after July 28th. I'm anxious about my June 29th appointment when I find out what my strict "pre-op" diet will consist of and for how long before. But I know that none of us have come this far not to do whatever it takes to make the changes we desperately want. WE CAN DO THIS!! :-) Alicia
  12. Hello 1body and RNsleever, we share the same sleeve date., even though I have a lot more weight to lose than you ladies . We should be sure to follow each other so we can track progress and bounce questions and concerns off each other. This is all so exciting, but I'm also very nervous. Alicia
  13. Hello Kbpaulie and THANK YOU!!! :-) Yes all those test sound just about like what I had to do also. I've completed most of them over the past 6 months. And as far I know they will perform the EKG, stress test and more blood work at my pre-op appt. The date is quickly approaching and it's starting to feel REAL. GOOD LUCK to you and thanks again for the response. Alicia
  14. Hi, I'm scheduled for July 28th, very EXCITED!! And was told I only have one appt left, my pre-op testing on June 29th. But Sunny and Kbpaulie you're making me nervous with so many weekly visits leading up to the procedure. Do you mind me asking what each visit will consist of? I'm just curious to see if I have any surprises left I wasn't expecting. Thanks, Alicia

    Stalled

I have not had my surgery yet, I am schedule for July 28th, but I feel your pain. I have been stuck at the same weight for about 3 weeks now and I don't feel like I'm doing anything differently. I'm still walking several times a week and trying to stick to the eating plan. I'm told that if you just stick with the plan one day the scale will suddenly start to move again. Hang in there and don't get discouraged. Continue to follow your plan and you'll reach your goal, you've come too far to give up now. Good Luck, Alicia
  16. I am 43 yrs old and scheduled for surgery on July 29th. I am 5'2 and currently 259 pounds, down from around 292 and hoping with the help of surgery to hit my goal weight of 155. Best wishes to all of us!!!!!

    Low iron/ hemoglobin levels

I've had low iron and elevated white blood cell count for the last 8 months. My doctor sent me to an oncologist and he just placed me on iron pills. I'm scheduled for pre-op testing on June 29th and surgery on July 28th. I pray all goes well, it would be devastating to be told I can't proceed after all these months. Best wishes to you on June 26th.
  18. Hi Kelli, I am scheduled with Dr. Teel on July 28th. I just switched to him in April due to my insurance requiring a Center of Excellence. I'm glad to hear you were were very pleased. Can you tell me a little about what to expect for my pre-op prep? Alicia
  19. Hello, I live outside Columbus OH and started this journey in August, but due to a change in ins. in January I have to now have my procedure at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Dr Donovan Teel is my surgeon. Has anyone had there surgery there and can tell me a little about what to expect? Thank you
