Is / was your nutritionist all that helpful?
Licia'sjourney replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I only had two appointments with a NUT and the first one was more informative than the second one. She explained about taking a very small bite and chewing really well and putting your fork down in between bites. However, in both appointments I was given 3 pages with a list of allowable foods and non allowable. She went over the list. and that was all. The info was cookie cutter and said by rote. If I asked a question she was unresponsive and referred to the list. I wonder if she was really a NUT or dietician. I didn't look at her credentials. She was in the surgeon's office and I had to her so I went. It really wasn't worth the money though. -

Internal stitch pain
Licia'sjourney replied to DebiDoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this as well and then I lifted something that was too heavy and ended up having a really bad sharp pain. I went to the surgeon's office so they could check it out and for me, it was not serious however, I had to take another 3 1/2 days off work so it would heal. I am now at 4 1/2 weeks and the pain is gone. Hang in there, it will heal as long as you are not stressing it or irritating it. -
The dreaded stall....
Licia'sjourney replied to alisawoo22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My stall happened in the second week and lasted for 2 weeks. It is frustrating but stick with the program and the weight WILL come off. The second week of my stall I kept losing and gaining the same lb several times and then I finally lost it plus 4 more over about 5 days. It will come off!! -

@@The Candidate - I totally agree!! I spent a bunch of money on other bottles and way to keep Water cold all day. Then I heard about the Hydro Flask and bought the 32oz. I absolutely love it!!! Totally worth the price too!

The GOOD, the BAD and the UGLY!
Licia'sjourney replied to Nikki Monroe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have told my sister and son and I have told a handful of people at work. I am very fortunate in that everyone has been very supportive and happy for me. When I first started telling people I was actually surprised when everyone was supportive because apparently I was expecting some negative comments but never got them. I told several people that I was surprised that everyone I told was happy for me. They all said they have seen me struggle since they have know me with the weight issue and that's why they were happy for me. -

Roll call all who had surgery JUNE 2015

I was sleeved 06/24/15. Its been slow for me. I had a 2 week stall and I lost and regained the same pound several times but just today and relost that plus one more for a total of 11. With pre-op I have lost 18 and since the January of this year I have lost 52. I still have a pain spot deep under that major incision on the right that is still quite painful. I lifted something too heavy so it my fault. I went back to work for 3 days and then had to take off Tues-Fri this week to give that spot a chance to heal. I went to the doctor and they and I tend to think it is muscle related and not anything serious. -

I was sleeved 06/24/15 and I lost regained the same 10th pound several times over the last 2 weeks but I finally lost it and another one this morning! I am so excited! I am hoping my stall is over now. I went back to work and worked 3 days but the pain spot I have on the right side flared up and I was in intense pain right there. Went to the doctor's office and it is not serious. The nurse said and I think she is right that it sounds muscle related. I am back off work for the rest of the week and I am doing everything I can to minimize the irritation to the pain spot. I will be so glad when this heals up! -

June 2015 sleevers
Licia'sjourney replied to eisorp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 06/24/15 so I'm coming up on 1 month post op. I have lost 10 lbs in that one month. Needless to say I am disappointed that it has not been more but I am trying not to think about it too much. I am making my Protein goals of 60-80 gr a day and I getting in around 50oz of Water. I am really looking forward to soft food stage so I can eat a turkey cheese rollup. That sounds soooo good right now! I am also still dealing with pain on my right side deep beneath that right incision. Unfortunately I picked up something I should not have (over 15lbs) and it has been more painful since then. Yesterday I bought a compression garment to wear and I think that will help with the pain. I know I have to just keep doing what I'm doing and follow the plan and I will and I'm trying not to get too discouraged. -

I am a sucker for anything with a spy. My all time fave is Burn Notice. I hated for it end. A spy gets a burn notice and dumped off in Miami and he and his girlfriend help people out of tuff spots. The Amerikans - Takes place in 1950's during the cold war when Russia had sleeper agents in the U.S. Covert Affairs - Oh this is on Amazon Prime West Wing - Loved this! This is a political show not about spys I have a ton more but I'm drawing a blank. I have seen a lot of the ones already listed too. -
Thanks for the laughs!!

One of my faves right now is cottage cheese and marinara. YUM!!! -
I was able to drink a cup 2 days in a row and it was fine and then I had one the third day and it was not fine. I'll wait a couple of weeks and try again.

@@chelleshocked - I'm doing pretty well too. I do still have pain deep behind that one incision on the right. But its not too bad. I went 6 days and didn't lose any weight and then yesterday I finally lost 1.3lbs but today I regained 1 lb. I noticed you had a stall as well but at least you lost several lbs when you came out of it!!! Yay for you! I have an egg with a spoon of cottage cheese scrambled. It keeps the egg from getting too firm plus its good. I am also eating cottage cheese with marinara. Its really good. Thanks for the suggestion! Today is my first day back to work. lol
