My friends would tell you I live with my heart first, I am a great listener and always have great advice. I am a nurse and having a huge capacity for understanding and compassion is essential. I am so disappointed. I guess I just never thought I would see this kind of disgust when a sleeve sister finds something that could possibly help her on our journey. Op I'm sorry. We women should hold each other up never tear each other down. There are enough people doing that to us already. The wt loss journey is hard and sometimes very painful. I wish everyone the best of luck. My surgery in 9 days. I'm on my preop diet and it sure is not fun, but I'm doing it. It has been a long road to get here. Love to all!!!!

Wow this thread went bad quick. I think the op was just trying to let people have an alternative when they crave a milk shake. Like Instead of crashing your diet for the day try this.... It is so strange to me how a site ment for support and community can go so wrong sometimes. I'm in Pearland. My surgery is sept 28 with dr Yu as well. I'm getting nervous and more excited. Let's keep each other updated. I had my EGD it went well. Insurance has approved so on the 14th I start the preop diet.

I'm a nurse and clear liquids means things like broth, water, jello, popsicles. This is the standard 24 hour preop diet for all types of gastrointestinal surgeries. Check with you Dr to be sure but clear liquids does not usually include shakes. Hope your surgery goes well!!

Well finally got approved! I will be having my surgery mid August. I'm waiting because I have a nonrefundable vacation first week of August and I would have been only 1 week post op. I don't think that vacation would be very fun lol!! I have to admit I am nervous about the 2 week liquid preop diet! I can do it!!

I started my research 6 months ago and finally decided on the sleeve. I am 210 lbs and 5 foot tall. I have just finished my nutrition visit and psyc eval. Now just waiting on insurance. Only snag my be 3 month supervised diet. When I first started the process I called HR and she stated I did not need one on our plan and showed me the webpage with the prerequisites and no 3 month diet needed but bsbc rep said I did need one. So Dr is going to submit the papers and see what happens. Why is it so hard for everyone to be on the same page!! Crossed fingers!!!!!

Just wanted to update y'all. I got my approval, ya!!! EGD on the 26th and surgery in September. OMG am I nervous!!

Any home health nurses out there. I travel to 6-8 patients a day 3 days a week. Most of the time skipping lunch. My question is how do you eat during the day. How do you have time. I know it can take a very long time to eat or drink a shake. Also how do you keep you food cool in the summer. I live in Houston and my car can get 100°f. I will be sleeved in September. Just wanted to see how your day goes. Thank you guys. Nurses Rock!!!!
