I know this sounds silly but I got to ask. Does taking Biotin promote hair growth everywhere or just on your scalp?

I just wanted to make sure I did not start growing thick hair on my legs and face etc....

I was told that you dont have room for liquids and food. You want your band to stay full and drip drop, that keeps you full longer. Drinking pushes your food through and also once you get really restricted you may not be able to drink anyway because it will come up.

i had my first pb this week, chest pain, ran to the bathroom and I threw up. I was eating too fast. I was banded in 9/05 and I have had chest pain 3 times while eating feeling like i was going to have a heart attack, I just walked, gasped and sipped and the food went down and the chest pressure stopped. I can not eat fried chicken, no bread products or eat in the morning.

I have not had any problems or complications.(constipated, but was constipated before surgery) (menstrual cylcles skip). My surgery was done at Frisco Medical which is a beautiful hospital. As far as bed side manners, I did not have any problems, He came in and smiled and asked how was I doing asked me did I have any questions and provided me with some more literature and told me some more info and told me to contact the nutritionist. He made it clear that I had to work with the band and that the band does not work by itself. I like him. The nurses are nice at the office, if they are not available they call back asap. One of the nurses has been banded along with her husband so she shares some good insight when speaking to her as well. My doctor visits are not long very short waiting period.

Once you reach your sweet spot, do you not go back to the doctor for a fill? Or do you remain at the same fill level until you stop losing weight?:faint:

Hi, Dr Stephen Hamn did my surgery and his assistant Dr Joseph Cribbins does my fills. I like Dr Hamn I thought he was honest and direct with all of his answers. They are both in the same office.

I just rcvd my 3rd fill on 1/27 2.5cc and now I can't eat or drink for breakfast. I really miss breakfast too. I can eat lunch and dinner. I Can not eat over 8 oz at each meal though before getting full.

Before a fill I ate until I was full. Now that I have a fill I measure all my food to 8 oz which is a cup. Sometimes I dont eat 80z but i never eat over 8

I did not fill any restriction until 3rd fill of 2.5cc. I was immeditalty restricted now its 2 weeks later and I really restricted.

I have them on my stomach and on my upper arms. I recieved minimal from my pregancy 12 years ago. Being over weight caused more on my stomach than the pregnancy. It does not bother me though.

Depressed! All I feel like I am taking 2 steps forward and 5 steps back. I lost 6 pounds in 3 days Fri, Sat and Sun well today is Saturday again and guess what??????? I have picked back up the 6 pounds. I am sooooooo very close to being less than 200, now I have 10 POUNDS to go. I am so disappointed in myself that I ate lil Debbie Snack cake and subject to go out and eat all day!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just really want to be less than 200 and it seems like I am never going to get there.

Hi, used Dr Hamn and your doctor do my fills. It sounds like you are too tight. I had my surgery in 9/05 and I am at 2.5cc and I can not eat over 8 oz of food. I can not eat or drink in the mornings, too restricted. I eat lunch and dinner. My first and 2nd fill i was not restricted and could eat anything and as much as I wanted even though I measured my food to make sure I did not over eat, I still could if I wanted to. I know the dr usually ask are you eating ok and since you are not you might want to take some of the fill out or at least call the nurse and see what she says.

I just got my 3rd fill of 2.5cc in Jan/06 and I can not eat or drink in the morning. I was not restricted on my first fill of 1.5cc or my second of 2.00cc but nowI am restricted and I hate not being able to eat breakfast. If I eat or drink it gets stuck and try to come back up. So I only eat lunch and dinner.

I have a 9cc band. I was banded on 9/05 First fill 11/05 1.50 cc Sec fill 12/05 2.0 cc Third fill 1/06 2.5 cc Restricted now

I noticed you were in there this morning. I have been in there once with 2 other bandsters and was talking all night. lol

HeY Poodles, I am sorry to hear that. It does not make any sense. I would keep trying. I have insurance with work and a policy outside of work. I would try different companies, that is something that you need. I hope GIGNA let you know something soon with your band. Good luck!!

If i drink too fast I get them also, you may have to sip your drinks.

I was banded on 9/05 and at first it was kind of unusual, scary and kind of hard. The first 10 days was easy for me to do liquids because I was scared of slipping and erosion and hernia. I was not hungry and it seems like day 11 I am starvinggggggggggggg. Without any restriction I was able to eat and that was what I was doing until my first fill in 11/05. Still I had no restriction but I did get some food stuck so I started really watching what I ate and started weighing my food making sure I did not eat over 8 ounces but I had these snack attacks and I did not lose any weight in November because I snacked every day (chips, candy, cookies, donuts). I truly believe that if you excercise and work with the band you can lose. I am currently on my 3rd fill 2.5cc and I am totally restricted. My first was 1.5cc no restriction, 2nd fill 2.0cc no restriction. I was getting depressed by then. My 3rd fill 12/05 and I am sooooooo restricted. I have lost 36 Pounds since 9/05 and I have went from a size 18 to 16. You have to get used to everything, your mind, body and the band. Cause you really dont know what to expect and what to feel. I think if was not for website I would be half crazy not knowing if what i am going through is normal or if what i am feeling is normal. I have not had any complications or any pb's (vomiting). If you decide to chose the band Good Luck!!

Every since my third fill which put me up to 2.5cc I can not eat breakfast, Is this normal. I can eat lunch and dinner. All my food tends to get stuck in the morning or my chest hurts.

spinach dip, any type of wraps and cut them in small pcs. fruit trays. deli sandwiches w/wheat or crackers.

4 pounds lost since the challenge, will check in again next month, I want to ba loserrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Good luck everyone

Hi all i got my 3rd fill and i am restricted at 2.5 i have lost 4 pounds since 3rd fill on 1/27. I can not eat breakfast though, i am very restricted. Keri, good luck to you on your 4th fill you look great and thanks for the pm. Sept bandsters lets get rolling in 06.
