I'm a bit confused, how many FB groups are there for low BMI? Before I got sleeved on May 21st I couldn't find any, now there seems to be half a dozen. I want to make sure I'm in the one from this thread. Can anyone help?

@@LisaLouBop, thanks, I had already found this thread and read through it after your suggestion. It seems that there are 2 schools of thought on being able to stretch your sleeve.
It would seem to me that the further out you are the more pliable and stretchy your sleeve can become. Maybe it can't stretch in the beginning due to the tightness caused by the initial swelling from surgery.
I'm 6 weeks post surgery, I really feel that I should not be able to hold 6ozs of food. But I noticed yesterday and today that I was eating ribs and chicken and could only eat a little over 2ozs.
All I can conclude from that is that the contents of the burrito bowl is just not that dense. In total I think it only had 2ozs of chicken in it and I only ate half the chicken the first time, the rest of the meal was cheese, Beans and guacamole.
I know I'm stressing for nothing. I just feel like this is my last shot at getting my life back on track and actually being in control of my weight loss for once. I really don't want to mess this up.

It's NOT stretched and you are doing fine.
Before you had surgery would that half of burrito bowl filled you like it did on Wednesday? I doubt it.
As you get further out from surgery you will learn the lower carb, higher Protein foods that fill you and stay with you. I could do half a burrito bowl, chicken, black Beans, mild salsa and cheese at 2 months, and you know what? I can still only do half at 6 months out. You are still healing.
@@LipstickLady has stuff to say about stretching your sleeve, you should read it, it sure did set me straight.
Do a search you will find LOTS to read.
Best of the best wishes to you, LisaLou
@@Lisalou, you are absolutely correct, before surgery I could have eaten the whole bowl with rice added in one sitting. Thank you for the advice. I will check out LipstickLady. I'm always afraid that I'm doing this wrong and I'm going to damage my pouch.

I just noticed this and it's freaking me out too. On Wednesday I got a burrito bowl from Chipotle, no rice, just black Beans, chicken, cheese and guacamole. I noticed I was able to eat about 6 Oz. with no difficulty. I thought it was a fluke so I saved the rest for the next day and had it for lunch and once again I was able to eat 6 oz and I made sure to weigh it. I'm only 6 weeks out. I don't think I should be able to eat that much. How can I tell of my pouch is stretched?

My period started the day of surgery and didn't stop until 3 weeks after. Never severe, just constant spotting. When I spoke to my surgeon about it, he said it was usual. As women, when we lose weight rapidly it releases estrogen that was stored in our fat. That's what causes our cycles to go all wacky.

I've heard of this from many sleevers and experienced it first hand last night. Everyone else in my home seemed comfortable at 65 degrees but I was literally freezing. To the point where i was shivering and my teeth were chattering. I pulled out my winter blanket and still couldn't get warm. I finally got up and pulled on a second layer of clothes and that helped.

Thank you everyone.

My surgeon seems to have a very progressive meal plan. I'm actually freaking out because I've been regaining a few ozs everyday for the last 2 days. But everyone keeps telling me to relax and that it might just be Water retention. I really hope it's just that since i have no other symptoms.
wow that's awesome you're on soft foods, I'm 8 days post and can't do soft until day 15, can't wait! Lol sounds like everything is going well with you, Nice! ????????I'm six days post op. I saw my Dr and had to ask him if he really did the surgery. I can get a lot more down if it's warm, like broth or tea. Cooler liquids take me longer. But I have yet to feel any actual restriction. I've started on soft foods, like egg salad and tuna salad. I take my time chewing and have only attempted 2ozs or less at a time just to be safe. I haven't felt any pain since surgery. So I don't know if maybe the stomach nerves are still numb and maybe that's why we don't feel the restriction.

I weigh everyday because those were the instructions given to me by my surgeon. In the packet I got it says to go to the hospital if I gain more than 2-3 pounds over the course of a couple of days. I've been regaining a few ounces for 2 days now. So far a total of 1 pound and I know it's not a lot but I'm scared.

I'm nine days post op and suddenly I'm slowly gaining weight. I've read other postings on here and I know that my body is still healing and I could definitely be retaining Water since it's my time of the month. But I'm freaking out. I'm wondering if I might be eating too much sugar. The only thing I eat that contains fructose is my Greek Yogurt. And I might have 2 of those a day. How much sugar is too much sugar? Please help.

My Dr stated that getting in 3ozs is right about average. But 10 shrimp does seem really high. I don't know what that would translate to ground up, maybe you should grind it up and see.

The Gas-X strips make some nauseous. You can also try the chewables. I didn't experience much gas pains but when I did, I found deep breathing helped.

Right before surgery I found it strange that I was not nervous at all. The only anxiety I felt was because I wasn't nervous and thought that I should be.
-
I see what you meant. I went in and I wasn't nervous at all. I walked into the OR and next thing I knew I was in recovery.
Thanks, I was surprised, kept waiting and waiting for the nerves to kick in but it never happenedGood luck. That's fantastic you're not nervous.

That seems to be my problem. It's taken me 8 hours to get through a 16oz bottle of water and 6oz of Protein. I'm catching naps in between. Seems like I'm on the hospital schedule still lol.
yeah gas pain is probably the most annoying for me to so far, walking does help that. I'm 3 days post today, glad surgery is done with tho huh!? I'm also just doing sips of Water, today was my first full day home, it took me about an hour to drink about 5 oz broth sipping of course. Day by day it all gets a little betterI had my surgery on Thursday May 21 with Dr. Eric Sommer at Hudson Valley Hospital. Today I'm 2 days post-op and I'm now beginning to feel some gas pains. I still don't know what my limit is but I seem to tolerate Water and my Protein Shakes pretty well. Just not a lot of either. No nausea thank goodness. And I seem to be able to take the same sips as I did before surgery. How's everyone else doing?

Good luck everyone having surgery today.

My surgery is 2 days away. I'm nervous, scared, excited. Sometimes the anxiety is so overwhelming I feel like throwing up. But I know this is the right decision for me. When I first started this journey, I couldn't wait for surgery. Now that it's almost here I'm beside myself. Lol

You'll be fine. I'm scheduled for Thursday. I'm more nervous than anything else. But we've come this far right? No turning back now ????
-
I'm also scheduled for Thursday. Like you, I'm a bundle of nerves. Excited but scared also.

Good luck today. Wishing you all the best.Surgery day for me... Nervous and excited. I go in at 4pm and am first in list at 6pm. Only 12 hours to go!
Is it safe to do a detox/cleanse?

Okay I was wondering, would it be safe to do a detox/cleanse? I was thinking about doing the tea detox to help cleanse my system. Has anyone done this after surgery?
