So I understand that this site probably makes its money mostly through adverts but I've just had two in a row that seem rather inappropriate - one was for McDonalds and the other was for a bakery, complete with gorgeous colour photos of pastries. Is there a way to get rid of these unhelpful, and potentially triggering, adverts?
You shouldn't be seeing ads from outside advertisers, especially the likes of McDonalds!! Help me out so we can figure out why and where this is occurring, please.
Are you using the app or website?
Are you on a desktop computer or using a mobile device?
Where are these banners appearing on our page?
I am getting the same thing she is talking about. When I use the app NOT a direct browser I get ads for games in the app stores or food places too.

I had something similar but in my right side. Every time I breathed in I felt the sharp stabbing pain and my ribs were tender to the touch. I called my surgeon after dealing with this for 5 days and the had a stat CT scan done. Mind you i just hit a month post op today. They wanted to rule out a pulmonary embolism. Thank god I had negative results and no PE was found. They think I over exerted myself and strained something. This was all on monday, it's Sunday now and I can say it's the first day where the pain is completely gone and I can breathe with no discomfort. Maybe it's possible you have done the same?

I thought I was the only one! I am 3 weeks out and I've noticed I wake up sometimes with my mouth slightly open and super dry. This all started after surgery. I never had a problem keeping my mouth closed before. I use the nasal pillows as well. Sounds like I may need to speak with my pulmonologist and see what she recommends.

I was sleeved on the 14th and I've noticed that Water is like my worst enemy right now. I can have gatorade, teas, popsicles, (all sugar free of course) and I can eat oatmeal and yogurt with no issues but the second I try to introduce water it lands like a rock in my stomach and hurts for about 5 minutes. I used to love water and I have tried room temp rather than cold but nothing works. Anyone else having this problem? Or better yet did anyone have this issue and figure out a way to overcome it? I'm going crazy because I felt like water was my break from all the sweet tasting stuff and now I don't even have that.

Are you sure it's hunger and not acid churning in your new stomach? I was going through the same thing and when I mentioned it to my surgeon he upped my omeprazole and poof "hunger" was gone. I was sleeved on the 14th so I'm still adjusting too. I admit that it gets boring but I just keep reminding myself that it's just for a short period of time and it will all be worth it. Try calling your surgeon and see what he says about the hunger and talk to your NUT to see about other options to help change things up. I hope things start looking up for you ☺

I was just sleeved on 10/14 and I have PCOS. I'm interested too. I know my surgeon already took me off the metformin but I still haven't discussed it with my pcp yet to see if she agrees. Anyone go back on it?

I had my surgery on Oct 14th and I can honestly it's not as bad I had prepared myself for. I mostly just sore at my incision sites. Even getting the Water down is only slightly uncomfortable but I can't complain. Happy to have started this journey I'm even more excited for those who have started theirs as well. Best of luck to everyone!!

Because I work in a hospital I am required to get my flu shot. I was concerned about getting it before or after surgery (my date is Oct 14). I sent a message to my surgeon and he stated that I should get it before surgery and not too close to that time. He said this way it would limit any after surgery complications like getting sick and not being able to hold food down etc. Hope this helps.

So I am a long time lurker and only recently started posting on here. I am 28 and 5'3.5 and weigh 240lbs. I have been playing this weight game since I was a little kid and I'm ready for once and for all to beat it. I was supposed to have my surgery October 21st but just got a call today saying someone had cancelled and are moving me up to October 14th. I'm not sure why, because really it's only a weeks difference, but I suddenly feel overwhelmed. I felt like I had more time to get everything in order, and now I suddenly feel rushed. I think it's just really setting in that I am finally going to do this and start a new beginning. I'm scared but excited too. Just looking for support and any advice people would like to give me to make this transition as smooth as possible.

I'm October 21st too! I'm in Allentown, PA

I was thinking the same thing. My surgery is scheduled for Oct 21st and I wondered if I should just start dieting now. I figure if I start now then when surgery hits it won't be such a shock to my brain. I hear the mental part is the worst of it.

I was sleeved on 10/14/16 and since December i have gotten a period every month. My body is clearly still sorting itself out because sometimes my period will last longer then a week or two. My surgeon took me off the metformin day of surgery and I haven't looked back. Facial hair i want to say is about the same but I had laser hair removal a while ago to greatly reduce it. Cysts in armpits have all together stopped which is fantastic.
