  1. I talked to my pcp nurse and told her I am determined to have weight loss surgery, so she got the referral for me. The surgery center called today and told me paperwork is in the mail regarding a date and time for my first appointment. I'm also seeking out sleep apnea treatment as they won't do surgery if you have untreated sleep apnea. Our town is 2 hours (one way) north of the weight loss surgery center and 45 min (one way) south of the sleep doc. Easier to go 45 min for the sleep doc then have more 2 hour trips south. I have cut soda from my life. Drink a protein shake for breakfast (usually not hungry so this helps get the engine running and gives me protein)

  5. I don't have wifi at home, so I will be in and out sporadically. I am just starting my journey...well the journey to get healthy. The journey to my 289 lb. self started 20 years ago. A lot of factors. I am thinking about gastric bypass as the amount to my goal is so great. (149 lbs) I also tend to lean toward sugar and with this procedure your body reacts in a not so positive manner which I'm hoping that will help me make better choices. I am going to the weight loss information meeting tomorrow (May 1st) and then there is a support group they want you to go to that evening. After that I guess I make an appointment with the surgeon. I have sleep apnea (untreated as I can't seem to keep the mask on), high blood pressure, depression, my knees hurt, I have no energy and just feel like crap most days.
