The view from 'down there' (a ladies room post)

Nice! Best NSV I've heard since joining the board.
  2. I agree...as you eat more and the initial shock to the system is over, the hair starts to come back.

    Labs - cholesterol

That was hilarious! Seriously though, I can guarantee this is an error.

    Obamacare

Yes and I suppose if we had a Republican as President right now there'd be free weight loss surgery for everyone! Seriously though, the OP's question had nothing to do with you disrespecting the POTUS. Just calling you out on an immature remark. I'm going to move on now...you should too.

How to get insurance to pay for plastic surgery

Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way.

Well, I've been yelled at today.

If you are in the wrong, then you are in the wrong. I agree this is a support group but that doesn't mean tough love can't apply sometimes. Hopefully the OP (and others as well) learned a lesson here.

    Orbera Balloon t-minus 180 days

Congratulations on your surgery, I wish you the best in terms of your recovery. Please continue to post about your experience!

    Obamacare

    @@Cape Crooner, That's a completely unnecessary post.

    mini binge - anyone else?

This happened to me once with brownies. Luckily it made me sick so it provided negative reinforcement...now whenever I see one I definitely don't want anything to do with it!

    The 6 month stall?

I am nearing my 6 month anniversary mark and although it sounds like you could make some changes, you may need to also consider that the honeymoon period may be ending...hence the sluggish weight loss result. Why not try getting back to the basics and increase your physical activity to 3-4x weekly?

    Newbie Here

Hi Tamiko, Welcome to the board! Having weight loss surgery is a life changing decision that will weigh heavily on your heart. Six months ago, I was in the same position and just as scared. However, getting sleeved has been nothing but a blessing. As you discover this board, it's easy to be inspired as you read about all of the weight loss journeys. You may find that although our stories are unique, we all have/had similar unhealthy relationships with food and can likely relate. Remember, you're not alone!

Stomach bug after GSV.... How to deal?

If there is any question abou the situation, then go to the ER and get checked out by a physician ASAP. Let them be the ones who decide if you need to be there or not.

    I made it!

    That's fantastic. Congrats!

Life is fabulous and so am I!

I'm almost six months out and close to my goal weight. Just recently got the nerve to start working out in a gym in front of people. If there is a Planet Fitness near you, they are against the gym intimidation thing and the members actually look like real people!

    carbs?

I try to stay within 20 carbs a day since I started off with a lower BMI. For me, it helps the weight come off quicker.

    Woohoo! Down one more size!

@@kealot You are a true inspiration. What you've done is an incredible feat and you deserve all the praise in the world!

    OMG! NSV! NSV! ????????????????????????

Congrats! I fondly remember when I could comfortably cross my my legs again (or comfortably wear jeans for that matter) and it's something that can be taken for granted.

    1st Psych Evaluation Appointment Scheduled

Sorry to be slightly off topic, but to the OP, why did your cousin fail their psych evaluation 5 times?

Drinking water 1 week post op

Water enhancers helped immensely. You may also be more comfortable with room temperature water at this point as ice cold water can cause cramping.
  20. I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and rarely even had a cycle to begin with. Maybe three times a year if I was lucky. Now that I've lost weight, I'm noticing that things are starting to normalize for me.

    Major Dumping Syndrome

I agree with @@CowgirlJane completely. Unless I avoid dairy and sugar altogether, I usually trigger an episode. Some of it is trial and error but I have to be careful.

    Joints ache

You're probably hurting from the new exercise routine and your own body adjusting to losing weight. We are supposed to stay away from Aleve and other NSAIDS...they are a definite no no because of an increased risk of gastric ulcers. This is forever, not just for the first few weeks.

    Halloween Challenge!

Not at goal yet, but I'm going to post a day early since I have business travel tomorrow. 132.8!

    Halloween Challenge!

    @@AlanaRN Congratulations that's amazing!
  25. No absolutely not! Even if you did have a sinus infection, as long as it's not life threatening (which they rarely are), don't worry! Good luck with your surgery!
