    Alcohol?

    I had a couple sips of my hubby's drink at 6 weeks out. It really didn't affect me at all. I don't drink often but really just don't want the empty calories. I may splurge on a special occasion and have one drink but for the most part it isn't worth it.

    What can I eat?

    5 weeks out I was still on soft foods. Make sure you are chewing up your food properly since that is hard on your sleeve. Also a lot of people say their sleeve makes noises after they eat so it may just be that. Good luck!

    Protein boosts?

    @@punklandia according to the ingredient list that one is Protein isolate so it is the right kind of protein. I use unsweetened almond milk in my shakes for lower fat and less sugar.

    @@TexasGirl86, if you are not sure then make sure you track your foods. Hang in there everyone it fluctuates week to week and there will be stops and starts but look at what you have accomplished so far. It will come just be patient and follow your plans! Good luck!!

  9. Eeek, I also don't like cottage cheese. I would suggest googling high Protein and low carb recipes. Look at different spices and things to change up the flavor. Do a Mexican chicken with peppers and onions or Italian chicken with zucchini. Mrs. Dash makes some great blends to use. For me its important for it to taste good and have flavor. Don't burn yourself out with plain chicken for example or you will begin to stray out of boredom. Good luck!

    Congrats and good luck! Everyone feels like they will be the failure but the tool works just stay on your plan. It is all what you make of it and it looks like you are committed! You will do great! Keep us posted on your progress!!

    Eating 8 days out?

    I agree, be grateful. So many have a rough time. I also didn't have any issues and I continue to do really well as I add things back into my meals. Congrats!!

  13. Every nutritionist is so different. I eat between 700-800 calories and a minimum of 60g Protein. I am 8 weeks tomorrow.

    Booth Seating!

    Way to go!! I have sat at tables so long I forget how nice booths can be. My belly also doesn't touch my steering wheel anymore!
  15. Down 69 pounds and I still hate exercise...ugh I tell myself sweat is fat crying but so far my sweaty body says "yeah not so much" Started weights yesterday, I am determined to do this!

      You CAN do this!!! How else are you going to exercise your heart muscle....LOL!!! Let's leave sex out of this :)

      Now that' you've started weights, try not to let any small weight increases bum you out because it is just part of the process that our bodies go through. Increased muscle tone = increased metabolism = more #s lost = more inches lost (not necessarily in that order). You're doing great!!!!

    Nervous!

    Agree with @@Serendipity517, the complication rate is very low. If you are serious about losing and realize that the surgery is just a tool and that you will also have to eat differently and exercise then you will do great. Ask plenty of questions of your team so that you are comfortable with the process and what to expect. Know what the eating plan is for after surgery and what support you will have. Knowledge is power! Nothing wrong with being a little nervous, it IS surgery and nothing wrong with having a healthy respect for that. Good luck and keep us posted!!

    Liver shriking diet question...

    My pre-op diet was sf applesauce, sf Jello, broth, 8 ounces Gatorade, one Protein shake, light yogurt and all the Water I wanted. I took in about 60 calories a day or less. You should lose on that as I am sure like the rest of us the amount of calories prior was probably pretty high. Good luck and good for you for starting now. You are right, the weight you lose now will put you that much closer to your goal!

    On my soft food diet I could have instant ones thinned out. Try that if you are allowed.

    Fluids

    You will be able to do that again soon. At first I could only sip and take in small amounts but at 8 weeks post now I can chug it like I used to. Hang in there!
  25. Hang in there it will happen when it is supposed to. Good for you for getting out there and walking even though it is difficult. The more you do now the better you will do later. I know it is frustrating but every day you will get better and go further. The more you lose the more you can do. Good luck and feel free to vent and get it off you chest! We are here!
