  1. I can't quite give you a good opinon at this time. I kind of regret the lapband and wish I did the gastric. I have heard from a few gastric patients that they felt it was a miracle and didn't really have to work at getting the weight off. With the band you really have to work at it. You have to eat healthy and exercise or else you will barely lose any weight at all. With gastric the weight flies off. The negative of the gastric is a lot of people have issues with gas or other health issues and maintanance is harder on them than lapbanders. With the lapband I feel like I'm on a diet and I choose what to eat and not to eat. It's very difficult, for me at least it is. Hope this helps.
