    Sleeve failure?

Everyone loses at different rates, so don't compare yourself to others. Hunger is still there. Stalls happen every few weeks. Keep focused on your new tool and the changes you're making.
  2. Sugar free hello and SF popsicles.

    Pain after drinking?

For quite sometime it was difficult to drink without pain. Sips too big or too many would trigger it. I'm 5 months out and still find myself in pain if I take in too much too fast. It's still a learning process.
  4. I took what my girls refer to as a "Brownie Bite" (a Girl Scout camp thing) of everything that interested me. Started with the meat and worked my way to carbs. This way I only needed a small bite or two of stuffing to be satisfied. Took my time and it wasn't too bad. Yes I was full, did I miss the meal...debatable. Glad I didn't overindulge? Yes!

    Curious

If I skipped the bun I could eat about 3/4 of the patty. DH is 5 months out and could eat almost an entire dollar menu cheeseburger if he's really hungry. Feeling good afterwards is another story.
  6. Does anyone have experience with their surgeons? Or heard anything about the practice? I'm already scheduled for my surgery there, but was wondering about the experience that others may have had. Keri

    Hair Loss

Mine started falling out about one month post op. I'm now 3 months post op and it's falling out in larger quantities, especially when I wash it. As a result I wash it less frequently now. Definitely thinner than when I started!

    Before and After Pics

3 months out. SW 268, day of 248, CW 200. 68 pounds lost.
  10. Hello, I have just begun the process of getting approval for bariatric surgery. My PCP submit a request for me to begin the process of surgery, and have since attended a group information session, and have scheduled my first meeting with the physician. I'm curious as to what experiences people have had with Group Health and their bariatric surgery coverage. Thanks!

    Bad taste

I'm 2 months post-op and often still have that terrible taste in my mouth. Some days it's worse than others. Hoping that it will lessen overtime.

    Sleep Study

I've had a few sleep studies over the years and will be honest and say that I've never been good with using it. DH and both have sleep apnea and he has been wearing his cpap religiously for the last 10 years. He feels well rested after a good nights sleep with his machine, me I feel worn out. Turns out there were notes entered into my profile years ago that had gone unnoticed that I might be narcoleptic. There really is a reason for preforming the study, just make sure yu follow up with it and use it if recommended.
  14. 2 months out and still have to remind myself on occasion to sip and not chug. I usually experience the chugging issue hen it's hot or I've been working out and nothing sounds better than cold ice Water. I also use a straw, so this helps me to sip all day. No issues with straw use.

    My Doctor faked my surgery!

My husband has the sleeve of steel and had a completely different recovery process than I did. He could tolerate more foods at an earlier time and in greater volume than I could. I went to the ER following surgery for dehydration, he had no issues during recovery. Every person is different. Sounds like you're lucky.

    Stretch mark cream

Generally those creams do nothing more than hydrate your skin. Stretch marks are part of life.
  17. I'm 2 months out and can usually only tolerate a few bites of beef/chicken at mealtime. I can usually eat almost an entire container of yogurt but it's spread out over an hour; which is fine by me. Carbs are limited as I don't tolerate them too well. Fruits very based on density. Every body is different. My husband is 3 months along and has the sleeve of steel; while I can;t tolerate as much as he can and never have.

    Losing Weight In Chunks

I was sleeved in July and every few weeks have a stall that lasts anywhere from a few days to two weeks. I haven't figured out the triggers, but just roll with it.

    Has anybody fainted ?

This has been me lately. The last two weekends while at the park working with my Girl Scout troop when standing up after squaring or bending over I've had to stabilize myself. I was so dizzy that I almost collapsed on a few occasions. I even showed my daughter how to bypass the lock on my phone to call 911 if needed.

    Fruits?

Mine allowed me to set applesauce and said watermelon was fine.
  21. I'm sure that this has been asked before, and I apologize if it has. This is for the ladies that have an IUD and didn't have periods prior to your surgery thanks to our little friend. I had my IUD placed in 2011 and lived 4+ years virtually period free. Honestly the best time of my life, lol. In July I began my 2 week post-op diet and come day of surgery started spotting, but only for a day. Yesterday I spotted again. Did anyone notice that following their surgery that their period returned or perhaps spotted monthly? Did it stay or did it stop altogether like prior to surgery? I'm really hoping that this is only temporary and that it goes away. I have really enjoyed the period free lifestyle. Thanks.
  22. I'm no longer the biggest person at work.

    Jerky

I eat it regularly. It's a great source of on the go protein. I've got a bag in my purse right now
  25. I'm not a guy but my husband had the surgery in June. He started at 315 and is now down to almost 250. He's dropped a bunch of clothes sizes! He was wearing a 46 waist pant, and is now closer to a 40. Plus he's got a lot more energy and takes the kids for bike rides a few nights a week.
