Since its been rather warm here I put on my Keen sandals the other day. Haven't worn them in a few months and found that they were rather roomy in the width. Nice feeling since they were starting to get snug.

I lost 93 pounds in 4 months but I dont feel much different.
naturegirl replied to leighannnn1791's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the loss! I'm 5 months out and 90# down. There are plenty of days when I don't see differences when I look in the mirror (naked or clothed), and others that I just say "wow"! I wore most of the same clothes for the first 50-65 pounds lost. I could see that they were baggy and people noticed, but they were still wearable. Purchased s few new items and felt amazing. Aside from clothes it's the little things. I cross my legs and love it! I slide in/out of booths at restaurants, I have collarbones again. I look at my legs in some angles and am amazed they're mine, lol. Find the positive and things will come together. -
Dress size conundrum
naturegirl replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started my journey in July at 5'4", 268#, size 20/22. This week I weighed in at 179# , sizing varied from 11/12-13/14 pants depending on the cut and size m/l tops. The last time I was this weight I was a 14/16 XL/XXL. Sizes vary tremendously! Recently Opened a box from childhood to find my favorite pairs of jeans from high school, size 13 wide leg and 11 carpenter style. Just barely button able, legs roomy. Ready to send those mid90s jeans to goodwill. I remember in the early weeks I kept comparing my sizing in the past to weight, nothing was the same. In fact it still isn't and that's ok. At 232# I was still an 18/20 when previously I was a 16. For me 4 pregnancies, activity levels, lifestyle, and she all play a factor. Change will happen you just have to be patient and give it time. Plus styles/cuts change overtime so you might surprise yourself trying on other brands/styles. -
Occasionally (like twice a month) I'll have a small glass of OJ. Small as in shot glass size. I drink it slowly to savor it. No problems unless I drink it too fast. One day I needed a drink and the only thing available was one of the kids juice boxes, way too sweet! Took my sip and passed it to a kids.

NSV - My smaller jeans are saggy in the butt!
naturegirl replied to sharkgirl's topic in The Gals' Room
My butt has disappeared too. when I finally bought new jeans I found that the ones in the curvy fit that I had been wearing were almost too loose and saggy, so the sales girl suggested a slim fit boot leg. Never thought I'd ever purchase slim fit jeans. And while relatively flat, but butt looks good. -
I have had an IUD since 2011 and was period free until my surgery date. Woke up that morning to light spotting. Guess it was the change of pre-op diet that brought it on. Thankfully it was almost nonexistent and gone the next day. The nurse said to not worry about it, it happens.

My husband has always referred to my feet as Hobbit feet. I refer to them as Sasquatch feet; size and hairs, lol
-
I've noticed that my feet are not as wide as they were last summer. Unfortunately I think they are still in the 10-11 range

When I get hungry before bed I try a glass of water. If that doesn't work I go for either a piece of cheese or mandarin orange.

"Coming out"
naturegirl replied to southernbelle256's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been thinking of posting my own "coming out" on Facebook. I posted about my 70 lbs lost a while ago, but feel that an explanation might be needed soon. -
4 Days PostOp- DH is So Sick! :(
naturegirl replied to FL_Buckeye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DH and I both had the sleeve. His was done a month before mine so one of us would be there for the kids or to help the other when needed. DH has the sleeve of steel with no issues. I on the other hand landed in the ER due to dehydration. I spent time dry heaving too. I couldn't get my fluids in or eat. Each procedure is different. The best you can do is support each other. For instance, if the only thing that he can have is sf Popsicles then have plenty on hand. Good luck. -
I had a little shredded lettuce with taco meat and cheese at about 2 months out. I didn't have an actual salad until 4+ months. Even then I kept it small.

I'm not sure how much my feet have shrunk, but they don't feel as wide or my toes as pudgy. I doubt they've shrunk lengthwise though. Still a size 10.

What are you guys eating?
naturegirl replied to jonharo22's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 months out and still take things easy. Everyday is different depending on what's going on. At dinner time I usually use a small dessert plate and eat a small piece of chicken, veggies, and if room a starch (usually potatoes or beans). Snacks are often string cheese, mandarin orange, or grapes. Breakfast 1/2-3/4 yogurt or two sausage links. Today I went to lunch with my boss for Mexican food. I ate half of a beef enchilada (removed some of the tortilla), 3 chips, and a few tiny bites of rice. Took me about 30 minutes and I was at capacity. Last week we went for lunch at the Olive Garden. I had a some salad and was full. I ordered the mini spaghetti lunch and brought it home for the kids. I try not to eat fast food too often. A panda bowl from Panda Express can last me a week. Half a taco at Taco Bell fills me up. At McD I eat most of a patty and toss the bun. At a sit down restaurant I split a meal with my husband and still have leftovers to bring home. Bread and I don't get along too well. A couple of crackers are ok, a slice of bread no. But as usual every brand/style affects me differently. I don't drink soda. I miss it, but can do without. I've taken a few sips from my kids juice box when really thirsty and found it too sweet and passed it on. Oj is ok in small amounts and slowly. The important thing is to be patient and listen to your body. Not all foods will be tolerable. -
I was probably between 6 weeks to 2 months when I started eating it. But I bought the type that was thicker and not a tough. Was easier to digest. I also limited it to a snack and not a meal. Usually went with peppered flavor. Teriyaki was also good.

I'm 5 months out and down 88 pounds! -
My nut said 3 months. Takes very little to get tipsy these days.

Been there. Rarely do I have painful poops, but I've noticed that I generally poop every other day. Prior to surgery I was clockwork, these days not so much. In the early days I'd go days without pooping no would be scared To go. Now I know that it'll happen every other day. Occasionally daily.

What fitness related EVENT are you training/preparing for?
naturegirl replied to catfish87's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I'm training for the Star Wars Darkside 10k at Walt Disney a World in Florida, April 16. Considering a few other races between now and then. My goal is atlas the one race a month, although January doesn't look very promising. -
I flew last month and my hips not touching either person seated next to me was wonderful, plus tightening the belt with tail to spare was a novelty.
-
I started at 268 and have lost 84 pounds. Like the original poster I'm 5'4". I have saggy skin in my arms and upper thighs. My belly has some extra skin as to be expected from being overweight and having had 4 pregnancies. I have been jogging for the last 3 years, but still have saggy skin. Everyone will be different because their bodies, diet, and habits are different.

Any Tennessee Sleevers Out There?
naturegirl replied to BigMommaNoMore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
New to Memphis and looking for support groups. Any recommendations? -
I had my sleeve surgery in July and two days after I was released DH took me to the ER due to a combination of dehydration and a migraine going on 4 days. At the ER they completed an x Ray and CT scan, both were normal. They also hooked me up to an IV to get fluids in me as I couldn't keep anything down. After a few hours I was released. The first week was hard. Things didn't stay down and I wasn't getting my fluids in. Eventually that changed. I still find myself vomiting a couple times a week if I eat too fast or too many carbs, but my water intake is much better than those early days. Don't regret the surgery just give it time to heal.

Any bad experiences ? by not taking vitamins/protein drink
naturegirl replied to shirleyjohn001's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not the only one. I've struggled with vitamins due to nausea and vomiting that usually follows, or the occasional migraine. I'm trying to find what works best to tolerate them, but it's difficult. I'm just hoping that the hair loss slows down soon.
