    Pasta at soft foods?

We have a Veggeti and make zucchini noodles and that has been a nice substitute for Pasta. We mix ours with a small amount of sauce, and some ground been for Protein. No problem going down, although I still chew really well. Was so tasty our boys asked for seconds.
  2. My doctor didn't even really mention the bypass. He was all about the sleeve, which was fine because that's what I wanted. I did inquire about the pros and cons of the bypass surgery, but there was never a feeling of being pressured into one option over another.
  3. Losing has become slow going for me. But I'm trying to track what I eat and incorporate exercise when possible. Unfortunately due to smoke from the many nearby fires, outdoor exercise has been hampered.

    Feeling left out

Been there. Right after surgery I chose to skip my boss's going away/promotion luncheon because I couldn't eat anything in the menu where they went. The following week I skipped a staff lunch for the same reason.

    Unsupportive family

My parents have been supportive. My in laws relatively supportive. I think they are more supportive of it having seen DHs progress. I didn't tell any other family members (other than our children), with the exception of my cousin. She wasn't too supportive, and I have chosen to not share that information with her again. But it also helps that we don't live near each other. I know that my parents would like to have the procedure but I don't think their insurance covers it, plus it's an added cost for them. But in the event that they do have it they are witnessing first hand what it is like. The decision is yours. You can be upfront with them it choose to keep it to yourself.

    Happiest Moment

I'm 4 weeks out and I find myself crossing my legs a lot, and it's easy! Plus I reached my first benchmark/milestone that I set. As of today I weigh 225 pounds; haven;t been this weight since 2008. Wahoo!

    New here :)

Everyone's surgery is different. DH had the surgery a month before I did and he has the sleeve of a steel and I don't. Two days following being discharged form the hospital I was admitted to the ER for dehydration (and extremely painful migraines). My recovery time has been different from his. I was in a fair amount of pain for the first week, plus dizziness. He can eat most things with no problem, I eat something and it comes back up. I think the main thing is to focus on you. Your body is different than the next persons. The gas pains will go away. Keep walking, keep drinking, eat small bites...A month from now things will start being "normal". You just have to get through the first two weeks. I found the first week to obviously be the worst, and then by the second week I started to have energy again. Just focus on why you had the surgery and what you hope to obtain with your new tool.

    July sleevers?

Today I reached the first weight goal that I set for myself. I started the journey at 268 and weighed 248 on the day of my surgery. I set my first scale reading goal for 225, and today I reached it! I haven't been at this weight since 2008, two pregnancies ago. While my shape (clothing sizes) are still bigger than I was 7 years ago it is still a huge accomplishment that I'm proud of. Happy Wednesday everyone!

    July sleevers?

I had pureed chili and that wasn't bad. I also had refried Beans. The thought of pureed meat (baby food) was terrible, DH had tried it during his pureed phase and said it was horrible. I remember it from when our kids were little and thought how cruel I was giving it to them, lol.

    Any August surgeries in Idaho?

My surgery wasn't in Idaho but Spokane, WA. Saw you're located in Moscow. I'm just across the state line in Pullman. A gf of mine also had the surgery last month. So there's a few of us on the Palouse that have been through the process. Haven't found any support groups down here though ????

    Spokane

I'm in Pullman. I'm doing great. Just about a month out and no longer in pain, and moving onto real foods ???? down 20 lbs pre surgery and 22 post. A gf of mine had a surgery a week after me, also through Rockwood.
  17. I'm roughly a month out and water is hard. I prefer cold water and my body is fine with it, I just can't get in enough. I have learned that I take in too much with sips, but straws I find myself limiting more intake. No problem with straws.

    July sleevers?

Will be 4 weeks on the 21. So far I'm down 42 pounds. 20 from my 2 week preop diet, 22 since surgery. I haven't been at 226 since maybe 2008. Currently wearing a pair of shorts that I haven't worn since we went to Walt Disney World in 2010.

    Pet Peeves of WLS

My pet peeve isn't about others, but about myself and they fact that I cannot drink as much as I want. I love ice Water (never a big soda fan) and want to consume plenty at once, and am frustrated that I can't. Or that if I take in too much at once that I feel sick after. I wish that this would get better over time, but from what I've heard it doesn't.

kIM- I'm south of you on the Palouse. My surgery was on July 21. Did you have your surgery at Rockwood?

    Stalling at week 3

I was sleeved on 7/21 and had a stall at week 3. Things started budging again this weekend. I'm not sure if it was because I was tracking my food more or because I was more active, or perhaps my body had adjusted enough to let the scale move downward. I just focused on the fact that I was eating better and being more active.

    Watermelon

I was cleared for watermelon at 3 weeks. The only rule was that it could not be stringy.

    Working out

I started walking at two weeks and bike riding at 3 weeks. My doctor has not yet cleared me for running. Since I'm only working on 4 weeks out I cannot tell you if it helped with weight loss.
