    Stretched Sleeve

I'm following this. I hope you continue to provide updates along your journey. Please don't stress yourself out. It'll only make things worse. Wait and talk to the Dr and set a new game plan. Hang in there.
  2. I had my gall bladder removed in 2009 after suffering horrid attacks due to large stones. I was sleeved in November of 2015. I have had zero issues. I never have had to take a PPI/acid reducer, not even once. I actually, to be honest, seem to be digesting my food better. I had some pretty regular diarrhea after my gall bladder got removed and was really worried about how bad it would be after the sleeve. I assume it's because my diet is so much better now, but I am completely regularly. I also haven't had any IBS episodes. For me, this was an excellent choice. Good luck in your journey. Don't let the possible risks outweigh your potential health benefits.

    Hypochondriac or Problem?

If your heart rate is still elevated I would call them. Although it could be elevated due to anxiousness, elevated heart rate was the one thing my surgeon told me to not brush off. Good luck, take care, and keep us posted.
  4. I am 6 lbs away from leaving Twoonerville and entering Onederland. Will I receive a going away party from the Mcfatsters of the US of A?
  5. I am only 11 weeks post op, but the sad truth is that it seems I can already tell I am going to need a breast lift. I am in my late 30s and have three kids, was morbidly obese for the last 14 years so you can imagine they weren't perky before. But now...sweet baby jesus, they just hang. There is no perk to them whatsoever. They are bodyless and lifeless. When they were still semi fat they at least had some shape. Now I kind of mush them up into something that resembles a ball when I cram them into my bra (which has decreased 2 cup sizes and 2 around the body sizes). Any advice you can give including thoughts on just a lift or a lift with implants, prices, Mexico, and anything else would be appreciated. I plan on waiting until I am at goal, but would like to start saving for this. Thanks in advance.

    Should I be Concerned?

So glad you went. Take care of yourself.
  7. Hi there. Do you have your gall bladder still? I am definitely not a Dr, but the burping makes me wonder if it's gall bladder. When my gall bladder went bad I had severe pain right in the center where my ribs come to a V. And a lot of burping. I am only 11 weeks post op so I have no idea about stomach stretching or being in your position. That said, you've come this far, so you know what you need to do to get back and track. Don't panic and go back to to the basics to reset you're mentality. Avoid carbs and stick with Protein to break the cravings. Good luck and hang in there.

Breast lift - just pondering, info welcome

Totally agree and I am focused on getting in shape. They just look so sad every morning in the mirror, hanging there like worn out tube socks, I can't help but want better for them. I have lots of research in my future. Thanks for the input.

Breast lift - just pondering, info welcome

It all has to do with skin elasticity and what they can salvage during a lift/implant procedure. So it's probably not really my choice if I want an implant or not? I mean, I know it's my choice, but if it leaves nothing than that's a problem too. Basically I feel like there is no substance beneath what is hanging. So I should probably look for prices with implants. Who'd have thought.... I developed very early and have always been on the large breast side. I can't believe they just deflated. So quickly. Before all my weight is gone.

What kind of pictures are you finding? Like what you want? And what do you mean you can't be cup specific? Lol. I'm so lost already.

    Unwanted advances

This is why you need to walk around with resting b!tch face. It keeps everyone away, as well as all wrinkles! I've been doing it for years now and it works fabulously! If they don't get the hint with that face, I can easily move to "come closer and I'll slap you into tomorrow" face in the blink of an eye. It truly is a gift.

Breast lift - just pondering, info welcome

Folding them up and sticking them in my bra like socks is pretty much what I do now and I still have 50 lbs to loose. I can't even imagine what will be left by then. I was easily a DDD, and honestly even though I wore that size it probably was to small. So now I am down to a D, but there is nothing to them except hanging flab. I will most likely never get any other plastic surgery, but this breast thing isn't pretty. I have had a mother's apron forever...pretty much since having my kids and that doesn't bother me nearly as much as these hanging sacks on my chest.

5 weeks out and pain in my right leg?

Very important to rule out a clot before getting on a plane. Even if you start to feel better please keep your appointment!
  14. I am 11 weeks post op VSG today. The past 2 weeks I have been experiencing some real exhaustion. 2 weeks ago I started a more rigorous workout, but nothing that should explain this feeling. I upped my resistance on the elliptical machine and do 5 miles (pretty vigorously) every other day. When I first started doing that I noticed on the days I worked out (I exercise at 5:30AM) I had boundless energy and struggled to sleep at night. But the days that first week I didn't exercise I was exhausted. This week though I am straight up run down. I want to fall asleep at work. My muscles are sore and weak. My hair is falling out in clumps. I thought the hair loss was just that time that everyone talks about, but now I'm wondering if it's related to the tiredness. I am getting 80+ Oz of Water and 70+ grams of Protein. No carbs unless it's from non starchy veggies. No fruits. My protein comes from food, and not Protein shakes. I am anywhere between 700 and 1000 calories per day and notice no difference on higher calorie days. I am losing steadily. The more I feel like this the less I want to exercise, or work, or anything to be honest. Is it a phase? I don't go back to the surgeon until March 9th and am not due for a blood draw until the middle of February.

5 weeks out and pain in my right leg?

You are definitely doing what I would do and ruling out a clot. Always better to be safe! That said, low potassium can cause cramping and Charlie horses in your lower extremities. If they rule out a clot, ask if it could be a potassium deficit. Good luck and keep us posted.
  16. Yes. If it's tracking accurately based off of my heart rate I'm under 500 calories burned, closer to 350. I guess I'm just nervous because I've not felt this run down since the first few weeks immediately following surgery. I just went out on lunch and did some brisk walking and that seems to have given me a little boost (it's also cold out so that woke me up too). If it lasts another week I will call and see if they want to do my blood work early. And Protein increase, I will try that. I just ordered some protein hot chocolate. That'll bump me up a little and I can add half a scoop of unflavored protein to one of my drinks during the day. That should get me to about 100 grams.

You know you lost weight when

This weekend, I went and intentionally bought 2 new pairs of pants about 2 sizes smaller so I could shrink into them. Tried them on yesterday and they fit now. Not sure if I should return them or enjoy them and buy more later!

    Switching my account

My husband figured out my user name by googling symptoms I was having post op. After 2 or 3 posts where this username matched my exact symptoms he was finally like "are you hopeandagony?"...lol
  19. I second the call the surgeon. One sign of a blood clot (DVT) is a swollen calf. Please get it checked.

    Night Sweats?

For some, in the first week night sweats happen due to the anesthesia and pain medication leaving your system. Or, if you are still using pain meds it can happen from that as well. If you get a fever or other symptoms be sure to check with your surgeon. Congrats on starting your journey!
  21. Hi Chad. This isn't a requirement I've seen before but I don't think it's a bad idea! Welcome to our website. Stick around for support through out your process! I am a 38 year old female. I am just over 9 weeks post op and had sleeve surgery done on Nov 16th 2015. My reason for surgery was morbid obesity. I am 5'4" and at my highest I weighed 256lbs. I was lucky enough to not have any comorbities but knew they were coming quickly as I aged. Since my 2 week pre op diet I am down 47 lbs. My joint pain has significantly decreased. My surgery was complication free but I suffered pretty extensive pain after surgery due to 4 prior abdominal surgeries that left me with a lot of scar tissue for the Dr to patiently work through laproscopically. The first 2 weeks were hard and painful though I did return to work after only 1 week off. Week 3 the pain started to let up and at week 5 I felt 100% again. I now have no food restrictions, though I definitely eat well and much less. I get between 750 and 1000 calories daily, though usually I am around 850 or 900. I think I'm probably an "average" loser. Not real quick, not real slow. Somewhat predictable. I see weight loss for a few days and then the scale doesn't move for a few days. You find your pattern pretty quickly. I'm glad I did this! Again welcome and good luck on your journey!
  22. I love my fitbit HR charge. I wear it every day and it tracks everything all in one place.
  23. It takes a very whacked person to say stupid stuff like that. Knowing that, I wouldn't give it a second thought because it's clear that there is something horrible in their life to make them think it's appropriate to say that to someone. You don't require validation from anyone. You are awesome and exist for so many reasons. While they dwell in their own misery keep that pretty smile on your face and your chin up. Big hugs to you!

    Dumb bells vs Kettle bells

Yes! Same thing. I have used 2 lbs and am at 5 lbs now. Those little suckers get heavy after a few reps.

    Dumb bells vs Kettle bells

Great question! I've wondered too. I have hand weights that I use. I use them when I am sitting on an exercise ball and it really works my core. I have been eyeing up kettle balls though. I've heard they are also great for the core. Following.
