  1. Thanks so much! I'm really excited!
  2. I have some of the stuff I need on the kitchen table. I'll pack tonight. Sooooo close!!
  3. Oh @Radar... just when we all needed your post! I'm having my surgery Monday afternoon. I started this journey when I was married to my ex... and we've been divorced 10+ years. I wasn't "fat enough". Then I started it again 2 years ago but my PCP wasn't supportive. On April 1st of this year, I finally took control of my own life and met with my Bariatric Surgeon. I kick myself for not following through in the past. I've missed out on so much. But Monday is a new start for me. And 2016 is going to be the most incredible start to a more active life. Thanks for your post tonight. I needed it! ~Lisa
  4. Thanks so very much!! Definitely. Good luck!! Next week is almost here. Good luck!! We're so close!!
  5. Since I'm being sleeved on 11/9, what better day to start a challenge, right? My weight now is 238.8. My goal for 9 weeks is 215. I have no idea if that's even realistic - but we'll see. Thanks so much for setting this up.
  6. We spent a small fortune on a sleep to Live mattress and HATE it. Absolutely HATE it. I can't wait for my oldest to get an apartment so he can take the damn bed. I bought my 19 year old daughter a pillow top from Macys. It's a Queen for $1200. Best mattress I've ever slept on.
  7. That's awesome! I'm in south jersey so not to far! Good luck to u!! Message me and let me know how you make out! Good luck to you, too! Keep me posted!!

    I didn't order pancakes.

I tend to not lose from there very much - but these DDD's are already sagging -- I cannot imagine what they'll transform into in the next few months. I told my husband he will only see them in a bra.
  9. I'm Monday, as well. 1pm In Manhattan. I have a pre-op liquid diet for 2 weeks. I'm so excited for Monday!! Good luck.
  10. I'm Monday afternoon at 1pm. Good luck!!
  11. My surgery is Monday. I've asked my husband to eat whatever meals he normally would around me. Nobody else is going to make changes to how/when/what they eat so I wanted to be used to it. I, too, will socialize after surgery for the holidays. If anyone questions it, I'll either be not hungry or say my stomach is bothering me. Two valid answers that nobody would question.

I like her. I've watched most of her videos.

Having a period right before surgery?

I had my period when I went in for my gallbladder removal a few years back. The most annoying part was no tampons were permitted. The nurses said they see it all the time. Nothing to stress out about.
  14. @@4MRB4PHOTO That poem is awesome. My daughter is an animation student in college. Her cousin is pre-med. Her friends are business majors. Too often, she is asked why she "just wants to draw". I'm going to share this with her. She will love it.
  15. My sister. She died 18 years ago. She'd be my biggest supporter.
  16. I would call the insurance company and find out what hospitals locally they would approve at. It may mean switching doctors, but the wait time should be close to nothing since you were already scheduled. I'm so sorry. I know how upsetting and frustrating and heartbreaking it is. Don't lose sight of your goal -- keep to a light diet - and before you know it, you'll have a new (and approved) hospital!

    Best federal employee insurance

We have BCBS government... They no longer have a 6-month wait. Good luck.

  19. Can you bring powders? I doubt they'll let you take liquids. Or pick some up in San Diego. Buy a Water after you go through security.

    I apologize

I know when things don't go as expected, they can be extremely frightening/frustrating/annoying/confusing/etc. You've made a courageous choice to have weight loss surgery. That shows your inner strength. That strength you need to recognize, appreciate, and utilize. I try to teach my kids that no matter how bad your day seems right now, make a conscious effort to find a positive. The negative can be so all-consuming - so let the positive do the same. Do you feel a little better today? Use that as a positive. Have you lost another pound? HUGE positive. Did you only need 3 pain pills and not 4? Again, another positive. It takes a lot of mental strength to dig through the negative to find a positive - but soon it will become subconscious. Your mind will automatically think of a positive to counter-act the negative. Try writing down the positives. Do NOT write down the negatives. Keep a running list and every day add a new one. Sometimes it helps to visually be reminded. Good luck. I look forward to reading your awesome successes as they come!!
  21. Chest xray to rule out pneumonia. EKG to make sure your heart is functioning normally. An EKG is simple... they attach little sticky pads on a few places on your body and the pads are attached to the machine with wires. A sheet with your heart activity prints out and gets read. It literally takes a minute. Your doc's office may not require it.

    WLS Scheduled For 11*10*15

I couldn't even get it down when i tried to tolerate it. I ended up throwing it all away after nearly throwing up. Good luck!!!!! I think it tastes like Ramen - you know, that fake flavor. I find it tolerable. Not sure how I'll feel after surgery

    Browser crashing

Every. Damn. Time. And it's annoying as hell. I'm on a Mac.
  24. I don't meet with my surgeon again before surgery - but had my pre-op testing (ekg, chest xray, labs, etc) on Tuesday. November 9th can't come quick enough!!
