  1. I use my Vitamix that I have had for a while.
  2. Yeeessss!!! Was wondering what was going on! I too feel some weird sensation on my left outer thigh and it gets numb. It is sporadic so I can't figure out what triggers it. I am almost 3wks out. Lets hope someone can help us figure out what it is.
  3. Thanks for sharing! I know it sucks to try and get the protein shakes in so this is an alternative. I am still on full liquids so I could spread this over the whole day... I am barely making 400 calories a day. Will definitely try it.
  4. Call your surgeon's help line. With surgery being Monday, I would not mess with any pain meds that may or may not cause issues. Just call and let them decide what you need to do. All the best and hope you feel better.
  5. Congrats on your big day. I initially bought the Premier powder and I would mix it with almond milk but after I tried the premixed version, it is thinner and better now that am on full liquids. I bought it at Costco and it tastes great. But remember your taste buds might change after surgery.
  6. Congrats on your journey! Store as much energy as possible for the first week after surgery. I just kept to my pre-op diet and just as yourself I was weak from the reduced calories. I did not exercise hard just walked to improve blood flow.
  7. Congratulations on beginning your journey. I was sleeves on July 21 of this year. I am super grateful for no issues, no food problems, etc. I had my 8 week check today and I am at 40lbs. Only thing I would do different, is not get discouraged during the early stalls. Mine lasted almost 2 weeks...then suddenly, I started dropping. The big the I didn't notice, etc through my clothes and I needed to realize it, I was still losing inches. So now, I just remind myself, it's going to come off, just be patient! So glad you talked about the stall! I am 2 weeks out and my scale has not moved. I have to start working on patience
  8. Congrats on starting your journey. It is true you can't lift anything the first few weeks. One of the incisions is very painful. Every time I walked around during the first week, I had to lift the flesh around it because the gravity pull was so painful. With a one year old, you will need some help.
  9. I say you let them get on the other side as they see you transform to the person you want to be. I chose not to tell anyone in my family just because only I have been obese and known the toll it has had on me. There are somethings that are just personal and just need your personal validation. Do what is best for you, it is your journey the rest should catch up. Now schedule that surgery and start living, we will be here to cheer you on! All the best
  10. @losing2win great! The staff is friendly and professional. My surgeon is Dr Nick, I chose him because when I consulted with them I found him to be a straight shooter and I left the seminar clear that sleeve was just a tool and that I had to do my part to succeed. All the surgeons there are skilled - you are in good hands. All the best in your journey!
  11. And for this reason the Nicholson Clinic is the best!
  12. Hi - starting my 3rd week post op. Please break down and share what you are eating or were eating during this period. I am still on full liquids for another week ((day 1 - 21). I am running out of variety but am hanging in there
  13. Nausea for the first 3 days post op! I slept and woke up with a sick bag in my hands and thought I would tear my fresh staples from throwing up dye.
  14. 2 weeks out and I remember the Nurse Practitioner in the preop room say, "Do not cross your legs for at least a month!"... I was like "Why?" and she said "Blood clots, you have to keep moving." Well since I am done with the blood thinner injection I am scared not crossing my legs and walking around just to avoid clots Hope that counts as exercise
  15. Good luck and do not be discouraged by the first couple of days. It only gets better.
  16. Adding never thought: Within the first two days post op I would ever stop feeling nauseated, oh I hated this the most. I would forget to take in fluids because there are no hunger yawns just sleep yawns I would belch foam after accidentally eating a sugar Popsicle instead of a sugar-free one I would be able to walk without lifting my left incision and working against gravity I would be able to bend and pick something from the floor I would be able to sit around people eating some of my previous favorite foods and not be concerned because I am not hungry or craving the food Sunrise to Sunset sip sip sip is so hard. I would wake up everyday knowing I am destined to weigh less than the previous...
  17. 37 pounds is something. Everyone's journey is different so do not be discouraged. Have you tried Premier Protein? I am almost 2 weeks post op and today was the first day I took in 60g of protein. I started at 8AM and am just now finishing Keep working on it.
  18. You need to commit to find out what is making you gravitate towards negative influences in your life. The weight you had piled on before and the new mean personality have a lot in common. Get this fixed in a medical setting, you are worth all good things. Wish you all the best in your journey as you find yourself
  19. Hi, @xlawman I had my surgery on 9/1/15 so feel free to ask me any questions as the experience is still fresh All the best on your surgery and let us know how it goes.
  20. Hi, I am 9 days out too and I am barely able to take more than one shake a day. I am drinking more water but not the 64oz I need. It is a work in progress. Just keep sipping.
  21. Before surgery it is hopeless failure that is mostly permanent for most of us but with this tool you can fail with the hope that you can pick yourself backup and do better the next day.
  22. If you keep your identifiable information private, you still can exist anonymously and contribute or get support from this page. The problem is if you use your real name, post your pics with your face or house in the background it will be easy for other to know who you are. The internet knows what you give to it. You can use some smart precautions and sort of have some privacy. --I would not use my real name --I would not post pics of myself --I would not give my date of birth --I would use a special email for such sites --I would not give the name of my insurance carrier And I would still be able to share my journey with other freely imo
  23. My understanding is yes if you consume the protein as a liquid.

Hydrate yourself and have some electrolytes. My doctor told me to make sure I am drinking enough water and to keep changing sitting position every hour or so. Good luck and hope you feel better
  25. Had my surgery on 9/1/15. --Arrived at hospital at 9AM --Registration done and arm band applied by 9:15AM --Off to Lab for pregnancy urine test by 9:40AM --Back to lobby waiting for nurse --Pre Op nurse came for me about 9:50AM --Changed into hospital gown --Vitals and medical history taken --OR nurse came with same questions --Surgeon came in to explain what I should expect --Anesthesiologist came in to take medical history --OR anesthesiology nurse came with more questions --NP from surgeon office came in to discuss post op diet and medication --Wheeled to OR by 1PM --I do not remember anything after that --Woke up in room nauseated as hell. --Started sipping Water from the medicine caps but I just kept throwing up --Walked around the floor 2 times --Discharged at 11PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day 2 ===== --Stayed in bed nauseated and in pain --Got my nausea medication and felt much better --Difficult to keep stuff down Day 3 ===== --Feeling better --Sipping water --Having popsicle --TMI (Passing gas) --Belching so much. --Sat up and did this Day 4 - Day 7 ========== --It has been hard to get the 60g of Protein but I am getting in at least 30g --Walking around comfortably but there is that gravity pull on the incisions that kind of hurts --I have been having plenty of sugar free popsicles --Stopped taking pain meds already --Occasionally taking the anti nausea and vomit med...as needed --Enjoying shower, the glue on the incision is still on. Hang in there, I can definitely say it gets better everyday.
