I would not compare this to CS but definitely would compare VSG to laposcopic gall bladder surgery. The incisions are almost exactly the same. Difference is in the eating and drinking which will be a discomfort for a while but if you survived the other two surgeries you will be just fine.

Start over, kick your own butt, we are cheering you on as you do it. You can do this!

Whether it is "dead animal flesh" or "screaming dying plants" we are here because we all do not know how to eat either of them. I am happy to read all the different points of view and hope to try and balance what works best for me. Some of these posts are hilarious.

Only restriction is swimming and bathing but I showered the next day. The incisions had a glue over them so did not worry about covering them either.

Congratulations. Have you tried to get rid of gas with something like GasX? Those weird feelings used to be gas for me. Good luck on your journey.

I went with Nature's Blend. About 7 bucks for 100 tablets, the tablets are small, have no smell and are easy to swallow. I was advised by Dr to stay off gummies.< /p>

Hope you feel better. I was one of those that were nauseated and vomiting for a while after surgery. I was prescribed some liquid meds to take after calling my surgeon nurse's hotline. Call them even after hours and let them know. I know you feel miserable right now but with good care you will be feeling better and forget these moments. I attributed my nausea to the anesthesia i was given and until it wore out of my body i was sluggish and nauseated. Stay hydrated even with Popsicles. Praying for your quick recovery.

I suffered Constipation once when the only thing I was consuming was Protein Shakes. I can assure you that once it happens, you will make sure it does not happen again. Get your fiber in and Water as required you should be fine.

Congratulations on your surgery. I must say trying out Vitamins was the most challenging part of this journey. Some were disgusting and I could not tolerate them (Celebrate chewables and capsules). I have a bunch that I would love to give away to whomever would like to try.

Congratulations on your journey. I went the HH route with Dr. Nick. Start by getting done with the portion that the insurance will pay that is the EGD + Lab testing then once that is done you will go for result discussions with your surgeon. Right after that discussion you can schedule the surgery date. You will be required to pay the VSG part and the amount will depend on the facility your insurance will allow for your HH. You can get it scheduled within 3 weeks of your results discussion if you take care of your payment portion. Dr.Nick is the best and I highly recommend their support system pre and post op. Their back office staff for scheduling, payment and lab are amazing too.

I am running out of ideas of what to eat post op and I would appreciate your help if you could just come here every now and then and post what you ate for the day. I really don't care how simple the meal combination is, at this point I am desperate and will consider anything (healthy ). Links are welcome too.

I remember being really sleepy too but I related it to all the meds I was on plus the anesthesia. I would fall asleep anywhere, it was bad! Keep walking around and drink tons of Water. It did eventually go away and I forgot about it until you asked the question. All the best.

Hi, this early post op I would ask the NUT. My advice is just stick with what they told you to have, I know it sucks to drink the same things. You do not want to irritate your stomach or your staples. All the best!

Options for helping with obesity are more exposed now, I think everyone who has been obese has researched ways to gain control of the situation. I have encouraged concern people at the surgeon's office if they let me in on their conversation but otherwise I have not convinced anyone nor discussed it except obviously with you all . IMHO I think this is such a personal decision that one has to have the courage to push themselves forward and seek the solution all on their own.

Maybe constantly seeing you happy will trigger something in her to want to get healthy too. It is obvious that keeping to your routine will create parallel lifestyles for both of you. Give her time and see if she will be motivated by your changing lifestyle. Good luck and keep taking care of yourself.

Let them know at your pre-op station before the surgery begins. You will be asked to change into gown and take off everything and at that point let them know. They will give you mesh underwear and a big old pad...silent signal to the surgeon on whats going on with you

Hunger all the time and stalls, try eating more than you should and see how much of a sleeve failure you get . I bet you will know very quickly it is other things you are going through other than the sleeve failure

Personally, I did not want input from anyone other than my surgeon when I decided to do WLS. My thought was that I had lived most of my life listening to people talk about how bad obesity was on health and how such surgeries were an easy way out.....blah blah.... I did not need any validation from anyone regarding my decision, it was my life my decision!! Only I knew my pain, struggles and hopes. So.... the day before surgery (preregistration), I told my husband to expect a large withdrawal because I was having WLS surgery the next day. He smiled and said, that if that was what I decided to do, to go for it. So to this day, only my husband and surgery team know. (duh! and you guys )
I am perfectly OK with my decision.

I am suffering in this area too. I have tried couple brands and the chalky taste does not settle well. I tried Celebrate capsules and the after taste when the capsule dissolves is unbearable... I am now waiting on my chews. Crossing my fingers that I can tolerate those.
