  1. Insurance companies just want to see weight loss discussion in your visit notes with your doctor. If the doctor put in his note that he gave you exercise handouts that counts as supervised weight loss. I'm an insurance coordinator for the surgeon who did my sleeve and most insurance companies aren't real picky.


  2. I work for the surgeon who did my sleeve and we use Prosper Healthcare Lending. They will loan up to $100,000 for bariatric surgery and everything that goes along with it. I don't know what your credit situation is but it might be an option to look in to. They require a credit score in the 600s and allow you 7 years to pay it off.


  3. I am an insurance coordinator for the surgeon who did my sleeve. We schedule all preop appointments and tests at the initial consult. If you've got everything your insurance requires it can be a quick process. Our fastest was 3 weeks from initial consult to surgery.
