8 weeks post op (well 8 weeks and a day lol). Feeling pretty good. Down 41 lbs from highest weight. Eating better, getting all my Protein and Water in continues to be difficult but getting better. I have tried at least 10 different Protein Drink mixes and still haven't found one I can drink, they are all too sweet or just taste awful. Will keep trying to find the one I can tolerate but it's been a battle for sure. I'm working with a personal trainer at local gym 2 days a week and cardio on my own the other days. It was a rough start after my bypass but it does get easier.

Hello. Welcome to the thread.Hi All, I was May 28th...
Does someone have a light and flaky fish recommendation? I tried cod and tilapia and neither one went over very well. Has anyone tried anything else? Not allowed other meats yet. Thanks!!
I eat a lot of fish. Cod , tilapia , flounder are light and flaky fish.
I wonder how you are preparing it?
I usually make fish with some type of sauce so that it is wet and moist.
One recipe I use is :
Sauté onions, red peppers, mushroom in a pan with little olive oil. When this mixture gets soft add a 14oz can of the petite cut tomatoes , a can of the white cannelloni Beans and a handful of baby spinach. Once this cooks for a few minutes lay cod on top and lightly push down into mixture. Cover with lid and simmer on low for about 8 to 10 minutes. Be careful not to over cook fish. Salt and pepper to taste. Can use any white fish. Hope this is helpful.
Also if you check Pinterest or Google , you will find fish Soup recipes that are amazing.

Hello allI hope everyone is doing well!!?? It's been awfully quiet lately.. I know for me, I'm just getting settled into my routines and moving on with my new life. I actually had someone say as a greeting to me today "Hey Skinny " I have to admit I liked that. I still feel like the fat dude, but realizing it's not completely true anymore. I'm getting there I always say.. I don't know about y'all, but I'm about sick of telling my story.. All my clients wanna hear all about it lol I'm grateful anyone wants to hear it in the first place lol. Everyone have a great day...
I'm feeling pretty good, getting more Water in now , not 64oz but at least 50oz a day. Working with personal trainer at the gym, down 2 lbs this week. As for food , still a little struggle, not much of an appetite and there are only a few things that don't make me feel sick just thinking about eating it. I mostly eat Soup, chili, cottage cheese, things that go down easy. I did have very small piece lasagna last night and that was good. No regrets, but continues to be a challenge.
@ imjenn... Good for you. I'm hoping there will come a day that I can sip a glass of wine again.
My clothes are baggy and that feels good.
What are some things you all are eating??
Another thing I can't wait to be able to eat is salad. I like salad but I just can't it down yet.

Wow. Great pic. Can really see a difference. Amazing.@@nancynew I am on soft foods as of today, and doing well so far there as well. I lost 20lbs before the pre op liquid diet as it was required to get surgery, then 20 lbs on liquid diet and now 31. So 71 lbs total! Me on December 6th and on June 2nd!

Thanks
Congratulations ❤️Weighed myself this morning , I am down 8 pounds this week. I only weigh once a week on Tuesday mornings. Feeling good. ????

Hello nuzzelbear. Welcome to the May thread. How is it going so far for you ? Are you on soft / purée foods or have you moved to regular food. The 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery was rough. I have my 6 week follow up appt with surgeon later today. Can't believe it's been 6 weeks already.
Feeling pretty good today. Still have the good and not so good days.
It continues to be a challenge to get Vitamins , Water , Protein and exercise all in each day. And being back to work adds to the challenge. Get busy and forget to eat and drink.
Never before , ever, would I forget to eat. Hahahaha. I can only get down very moist or wet foods. I made chili yesterday and it was wonderful.
Isn't it amazing just how small our portions are now compared to pre op.
I had many regrets after surgery those first few weeks. Now that I'm feeling better and getting into somewhat of a better routine , no regrets Although, this by far is one of the toughest things I've had to deal with or should I say manage.
That's my thoughts for today. It's helpful for me to just say it on here.
One more thing, my husband will not see this but I will be sure to tell him.... He has been so amazing though this entire process. Could not have done it without him.
Thanks again to all of my fellow bariatric pals out there. Your feedback and your own posts have helped me greatly. Continue being losers !! ????????❤️

Seems your on the mend.. Wishing you the best .. Hang in , I believe it does get easier .. Take care.Hi all I'm back for the moment I've been in the hospital for 10 days ic had to take a break from everything hospital stay is been really tough. I've been kind of depressed and feeling that I made the worst mistake of my life because this pain is truly horrible I mean it's unbearable. So I have been staying away because I didn't want to be a Debbie Downer for you guys but having said that I am feeling better I think my depression was just the scariness of what could happen and feeling very lethargic. but the last few days since I've been home I've been feeling a lot better I feel with more Protein I'm getting more energy and I'm getting that excitement back. since being admitted I just felt like I've been run over by two trucks. anyway I'm feeling really well and then yesterday I weighed myself and I am down to now 375 plus another additional 25. Since I went into the ER so I'm feeling better about that and I'm I'm generally feeling better about the overall surgery again I just taking a break from everything. sorry there's not much punctuation in this it's because voice recognition.

How are things going ? Do you still have picc line? Was thinking of you and hoping you getting better.Hi all thank you for your thoughts and prayers, doing good for the moment. a little bit of discomfort and neck pain but I still also have some liquid and air trapped in my stomach it was like doing the surgery all over again. so he's going to check my CT scan today well another one and tomorrow if he might let me go home tomorrow. He will have a nurse come by every day to feed me through the PICC line.
For some reason I just can't help but feeling like I never should have done the surgery. The doctor said this is a statistic that rarely ever happens but it does happen. so keep your prayers up for me and keep me in your thoughts and we all will push through this and it goes without saying that I love all you peeps here on this gastric bypass board

I get my protein powders at GNC
That sounds delicious.Hello all. Hoping everyone is doing well.
Just sharing a bit. Milk : fair life fat free has 13g Protein per cup and taste good.
I made a smoothie today
Half banana , half cup milk, 2 tbsp PB2 , half scoop unflavored Protein Powder and half cup ice. Blended and was delicious. About 160 calories and 20g protein.
And yes! I mix the chocolate and vanilla fair life between my meals to get both my Calcium and protein in!
Where can I buy unflavored protein powder?
Yayyayayayayayyyyy this is great news!I hope my May Peeps are doing ok? Everyone is being kinda quite!!!
Life has been pretty busy with me, being on my 3rd week back at work, so it's understandably crazy for us all getting used to our new lives, eating to live, not living to eat!!!
I have one more week and I can full on exercise again. My Bowflex misses me, as does my exercise ball for ab exercises... Definitely ready to start toning again.
My stall has been broken, 3 something pounds in 2 days so far ????.. I'm able to wear some clothes I've never fit in, and some I used to love to wear... It's gotten me a bit more pumped to get up, and try on something new/already in my drawers lol. It's like shopping in my own closet.. Hugs and Love and Prayers to you all ????❤️????????
So glad your stall has ceased! Mine has started to as well:) it's a fantastic feeling.
So happy for you that your stall is now in the past.

Me too !!! Scared of carbs. Have to allow some or I have zero energy.
It sounds like you are doing better!? And sounds delicious.. I'm to scared to eat to many carbs, so no fruit for me. I LOVE PB2 . It's great to sprinkle over yogurt, as a topping..Hello all. Hoping everyone is doing well.

I am doing better , thanks. It has been a rough road.
Half banana was first fruit since surgery. It feels good to just feel good again. I'm not eating much , I really don't feel hungry. I know I have to eat. Probably taking in about 300 to 350 calories a day.
Which is insane. I'm not having any cravings. For now anyway. I know this can change. One day at a time is all I can do. Thanks Salonboi for your feedback. Actually thanks to all on this thread , even if your not talking to me , I hear you ????

Thanks so much. I'm sure things will get better, just have to find a way to get through it. Tough but not impossible. So glad to I'm not the only one dealing with taste issues.@@nancynew I am so sorry you are dealing with issues but I will say this to shall pass! Just hang in there and I'm sure things will continue to get better. It is perfectly normal to feel a lil regret under the circumstances I'm sure we all have at some point. As far as protien I'm in the same boat, Water and Protein Shakes are not cutting it for me so I know I'm lacking in that area. Hopefully we can figure that out soon ????
It smells also for me , everything has a weird smell. Don't know what that's about !
