    Ladies over 50 - bypass

It is normal to want to have food funerals. Speaking for myself I didn't feel like I needed to have food funerals because only saying good bye temporarily. The pre op and post op diets are rough and restrictive but after surgery you will be able to introduce some foods back into your diet. Of course there will be some you cannot eat again. Instead of thinking what I won't be able to eat. I think of how wonderful it will be to lose this weight once and for all. Worried about failing is normal and I'm sure a large majority of us have those thoughts. I am 7 days post op and still wondering if I can do this. And will I fail. Just take it it one day at a time. I'm sure you will be fine.
  2. We just have to remind ourselves, hey, yes we decided to change our lives dramatically, and yes that means we can't eat whatever we want, but hey, we will be way skinnier and way healthier than we've ever been in our lives. IT WILL BE WORTH EVERY SECOND OF MISERY. Maybe you need a little more variety in what you are consuming. Thanks SalonboiI'm sure it's just a passing thing. And I also think your correct when you say I'm not giving myself enough variety. I'm stuck in that drink water and have a chocolate protein shake. I have an appt. this week with my NUT and I'm sure she will have some suggestions. I also get the liquacel delivered tomorrow. Thanks for your positive feedback , it helps. And now I will kick myself in the butt and just push forward. What was the alternative for me , to just remain overweight , which was a fight for me everyday also. This too shall pass. ????
  3. Woke up not feeling so good today. Is it normal to second guess myself. Wondering if I made the right decision. I'm sure this feeling of uncertainty will pass. Right now I'm just a little down in dumps. Time to make another protein drink.
  4. Wish you well with surgery today

Today is day 5 post op, I'm hanging in. Thanks for your words of encouragement. Long road but one worth traveling.
  6. NUT hasn't said I needed just yet. I assume when I start adding more foods in I'll need. Nothing solid right now going in or out so I think it's the way it should be lol. How about you? Has your NUT or Dr said anything about it?No, NUT or DR has said anything about adding fiber at this point. Makes sense, nothing solid in it out so doesn't seem necessary.
  7. It'll be great hearing of everyone's progress. My surgery was May 5 also.I'm reading posts several times a day, very helpful to have feedback and feel I'm going through this journey with others who understand first hand.
  8. Good luck tomorrow , keep posting your progress
  9. Thanks Salonboi , I will check that out also. I do drink the Isopure flavored bottles ( iced tea and grape) I like a lot. 40 protein, no carbs, 170 calories per 20oz bottle. Are you adding fiber to any of your drinks?
  10. Ordered the variety packs. I think packets I have to mix with water. All I know is this : I cannot drink another chocolate protein of any kind. I also have the Isopure protein drinks.
  11. @salonboi. Just placed an order with Amazon for liquacel. Thanks for sharing.
  12. Getting a little worried here. Surgery was on Tuesday May 5...... Still experiencing pain , I'm wondering if I'm drinking too fast. I feel like I've slowed a lot but maybe not slow enough. My incisions are painful and I am using pillow to support stomach when I walk. At the very top of stomach just where ribs open otherwise known as the epi-gastric area is so painful. Is it pain or too full, I'm not sure. 8 oz of protein shake I drink a small medicine cup and wait 15 minutes to the next Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Ladies over 50 - bypass

Hello all, so I started my pre op liquid diet yesterday and last night had horrible headache, head was hurting and throbbing. Finally fell asleep. Woke up today and still have headache but not as severe. Did anyone experience this? I'm thinking my body is going through withdrawal. Hoping I don't have to deal with headaches for the entire 2 weeks.
