  1. I'm so sorry you are having issues ???? you will continue to be in my prayers ???????? I hope you find a protein source soon. It's a trip at how different stuff tastes now. Well with your issue having been addressed, maybe this is your corner to turn, to be you again. This is some emotional **** for sure. It's like it's being released from our fat cells lol. I think it's actually a thing, if I'm correct.. That's why I'm always on here, and talking to head doc, meetings and taking all meds advised ????... I have my ups and downs everyday, so at least you know that part is normal ???? ❤️ Thanks so much. Your words of encouragement are much needed. I know things will get better. I'm sure your right with it being water weight. It's a journey , not an overnight fix.
  2. PS... Gained 1 pound when I weighed this morning , go figure
  3. Hello all my Bari friends. I haven't posted in a while, I was admitted to hospital for past 5 days , the diverticulitis became severe and needed to be in hospital for IV antibiotics. Home now and feeling really weak. Was not getting enough protein while in hospital. As much as I was telling them I need a protein source no one was hearing me. They had me on a clear liquid diet. At least they were giving me some fluids. Anyway, home now on oral antibiotics. Trying to get back into the swing of things. I'm having hard time with everything, water (believe it or not ) tastes sweet to me and difficult to drink. I can't find a protein powder that I can tolerate and I'm soooo frustrated. Im crying all the time and my poor husband tries but doesn't really know what to do. Im not gonna say I'm regretting the surgery because I'm in it now and regretting it just isn't helpful. Just can't wait to feel like myself again. ????????????
  4. Way to go Jenn! That's one thing I haven't done yet but waiting to try...... Is see how my scrubs fit. I return to work on June 11, waiting til then. Very happy for you.
  5. Hi JennYes, for sure, scale can be just plain frustrating. I only weigh myself once a week. Body weight fluctuates too much day to day. More accurate weight if weigh weekly. Just sharing my thoughts and how I manage weighing myself. I'm not looking forward to the stalls. And I'm sure there will be stalls. ????
  6. ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1433032819.540482.jpgI use it every meal, and no vomiting or discomfort because of it. Got it. Thanks. Have it now and it is very helpful.
  7. Hello.... Just goes to show how different this journey is for all of us, I'm close to 4 weeks post op and am just now able to sleep on side. And as you said , really annoying.
  8. Your really being put through the wringer to say the least. Hang in. Will be thinking of you and hoping for speedy recovery. And yes , for sure , keep posting your progress.
  9. It's 'eat slower' on the apple market. Thanks
  10. Thinking of you. So relax for next 4 to 5 days. Prayers. Hope all works out. ????
  11. Hello all. What's the name of the app for timing yourself while eating? Thanks
  12. @@RNYGal I'm sure your doctor is a good surgeon but no pain meds after invasive abdominal surgery just isn't right. How did you beat the pain. I know I could've never done it. Did Tylenol help. Other then that , happy to hear your surgery went well and your beginning your journey. Wishing you the best.
  13. We are all thinking of you for sure. Sending prayers and best wishes.
  14. Oh wow. Thats rough , fingers crossed your cat scan says otherwise , no rupture. Get better soon.
  15. Hooray. That's the best part, when clothes sizes go down and you have proof your losing weight. Keep up the good work.
  16. How are you doing, and welcome to the other side, those thinking of surgery and those now on the losers bench ????
  17. Rest up and feel better! Thanks JennHow is it going with you.
  18. You know salonboi, your posts is exactly why I enjoy / need this thread. Need to know that others are feeling and experiencing some of the same things. And yes , feels good to get it off your chest. It sucks to say good bye to one of the things that brought you the most comfort. I think your on the right track you now need to find other things for comfort and enjoyment. Do you think your true hunger is head hunger ? And you do know will be able to eat more variety in time. Taste changing , you hit the nail on the head , everything is too sweet for me. As for protein powders or drinks, I am searching for the one I can tolerate as far as taste. As you said you knew this wouldn't be easy but until your in and get the real reality of it , you can't possibly know the amount of changes that will need to be made. The life adjustments. I think it's great your walking trails and finding crafts and hobbies. Keep it up , your partner will get on board and if he doesn't , he will enjoy the new you ???? My thoughts are with you and all the gastric peeps out there. Oh and don't apologize for potty mouth, sometimes ya just gotta say it the way it is. ????
  19. Omg I'm so sorry you are in pain ???? so glad it's not surgery related. Rest and take care of yourself. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers ????????????Thanks I need those prayers right now. Much more painful then the surgery, go figure. I'm supposed to go back to work in one week and my manager wouldn't be pleased. Yikes. And I want to get back to work. Again thanks.
  20. Abdomen became so painful , went to ER. ( believe me, for me to go to ER, you know I'm in a lot of pain) Anyway, they did blood work, urine test and cat scan of abdomen. Diagnosis: diverticulitis. Home on antibiotics. So relieved that it's isn't a surgery complication. Not happy with diverticulitis but could be worse.
  21. Hooray. Wish you well.
  22. Maybe TMI but MOM did the trick. Lol. Constipation has become a big issue for me. Anyway , feeling better.
  23. It's 3am, woke up at 1:30am with pain in my lower abdomen and feeling really nauseous. Can't sleep , what is going on. I get one good day then 2 or 3 not so good days. Not sure what I should do.
  24. Well said.... You were responding to someone else but boy oh boy that was very helpful to me also. Thanks a bunch. ????
  25. I basically did what my NUT said, take a small bite of moist food, wait 5-10 mins then proceed if no discomfort. I waited for about 5 and I tried mostly soft foods at first like, broccoli, cauliflower and onion.. I had absolutely no issues. The vomiting issue was because I lost my train of thought for a few minutes and didn't use my Eat Slower App that times me. The next day I had chicken in the crockpot, that's been cooked in Italian dressing for 8hrs. And man alive, it was good. So moist. I did notice that putting a little slice of my veggie in my same bite kept everything super moist. As I was afraid of chicken being that chewed might dry out. And chicken is a little interesting chewed that much. You'll see what I mean. Still good though. I was told to use gravy for moister , but to many carbs. I hope that helps.Ahh, yes , crockpot. Good idea. I think I will start with chicken in crockpot , maybe a chicken with some type tomato base. My favorite, anything with tomatoes or tomato sauce. Or at least prior to surgery was my favorite.
