  1. @@nancynew have you tried Genepro? It is a "tasteless" powder that has 30g of protein for just 1 tbsp. I start my day off with it mixed with decaf coffee and a little SF creamerHi Rosemary. Funny you should mention Genepro, I actually got it in mail today. Ordered from Amazon. I will give it a try tomorrow. Hope it mixes well. Thanks for the suggestion.
  2. 8 weeks post op (well 8 weeks and a day lol). Feeling pretty good. Down 41 lbs from highest weight. Eating better, getting all my protein and water in continues to be difficult but getting better. I have tried at least 10 different protein drink mixes and still haven't found one I can drink, they are all too sweet or just taste awful. Will keep trying to find the one I can tolerate but it's been a battle for sure. I'm working with a personal trainer at local gym 2 days a week and cardio on my own the other days. It was a rough start after my bypass but it does get easier.
  3. I think I have said it before but let me say it again, love this thread. And vey thankful for all the questions comments and feedback you all give/ share on here. Makes my journey easier. ????????❤️
  4. Salmon is my favorite fish. That sounds good. Will give it a try. I also make a cucumber dill sauce with salmon.
  5. Hello. Welcome to the thread. I eat a lot of fish. Cod , tilapia , flounder are light and flaky fish. I wonder how you are preparing it? I usually make fish with some type of sauce so that it is wet and moist. One recipe I use is : Sauté onions, red peppers, mushroom in a pan with little olive oil. When this mixture gets soft add a 14oz can of the petite cut tomatoes , a can of the white cannelloni beans and a handful of baby spinach. Once this cooks for a few minutes lay cod on top and lightly push down into mixture. Cover with lid and simmer on low for about 8 to 10 minutes. Be careful not to over cook fish. Salt and pepper to taste. Can use any white fish. Hope this is helpful. Also if you check Pinterest or Google , you will find fish soup recipes that are amazing.
  6. Chili with beans (beans for the protein) I make homemade 3 bean chili with ground beef.
  7. Hello allI'm feeling pretty good, getting more water in now , not 64oz but at least 50oz a day. Working with personal trainer at the gym, down 2 lbs this week. As for food , still a little struggle, not much of an appetite and there are only a few things that don't make me feel sick just thinking about eating it. I mostly eat soup, chili, cottage cheese, things that go down easy. I did have very small piece lasagna last night and that was good. No regrets, but continues to be a challenge. @ imjenn... Good for you. I'm hoping there will come a day that I can sip a glass of wine again. My clothes are baggy and that feels good. What are some things you all are eating?? Another thing I can't wait to be able to eat is salad. I like salad but I just can't it down yet.
  8. Hooray !!!! So awesome. Whatever your doing just keep it up. ????Thank you ❤️ I hope you are doing better!!?Thanks Salonboi. I am doing better. It's gets easier. Still a work in progress but easier. ????
  9. Hooray !!!! So awesome. Whatever your doing just keep it up. ????
  10. I discovered I like and can tolerate the mini cups of tuna (2.2 oz). Just open and eat. 15g protein for a little bit of food. Good on the go while when working. Just sharing. Because sharing is caring. Lol.
  11. Wow. Great pic. Can really see a difference. Amazing.
  12. Congratulations ❤️Thanks
  13. Hello nuzzelbear. Welcome to the May thread. How is it going so far for you ? Are you on soft / purée foods or have you moved to regular food. The 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery was rough. Congrats on your surgery and here's to being a thinner you !
  14. Weighed myself this morning , I am down 8 pounds this week. I only weigh once a week on Tuesday mornings. Feeling good. ????
  15. I have my 6 week follow up appt with surgeon later today. Can't believe it's been 6 weeks already. Feeling pretty good today. Still have the good and not so good days. It continues to be a challenge to get vitamins , water , protein and exercise all in each day. And being back to work adds to the challenge. Get busy and forget to eat and drink. Never before , ever, would I forget to eat. Hahahaha. I can only get down very moist or wet foods. I made chili yesterday and it was wonderful. Isn't it amazing just how small our portions are now compared to pre op. I had many regrets after surgery those first few weeks. Now that I'm feeling better and getting into somewhat of a better routine , no regrets Although, this by far is one of the toughest things I've had to deal with or should I say manage. That's my thoughts for today. It's helpful for me to just say it on here. One more thing, my husband will not see this but I will be sure to tell him.... He has been so amazing though this entire process. Could not have done it without him. Thanks again to all of my fellow bariatric pals out there. Your feedback and your own posts have helped me greatly. Continue being losers !! ????????❤️

    Philadelphia?

Hello. I'm new to this site. Had RNY surgery May 5 2015. I am from Philly. When was your surgery? How are things ?
  21. That sounds delicious. And yes! I mix the chocolate and vanilla fair life between my meals to get both my calcium and protein in! Where can I buy unflavored protein powder? Yayyayayayayayyyyy this is great news!So glad your stall has ceased! Mine has started to as well:) it's a fantastic feeling. I get my protein powders at GNC So happy for you that your stall is now in the past.
  22. It sounds like you are doing better!? And sounds delicious.. I'm to scared to eat to many carbs, so no fruit for me. I LOVE PB2 . It's great to sprinkle over yogurt, as a topping..Me too !!! Scared of carbs. Have to allow some or I have zero energy. I am doing better , thanks. It has been a rough road. Half banana was first fruit since surgery. It feels good to just feel good again. I'm not eating much , I really don't feel hungry. I know I have to eat. Probably taking in about 300 to 350 calories a day. Which is insane. I'm not having any cravings. For now anyway. I know this can change. One day at a time is all I can do. Thanks Salonboi for your feedback. Actually thanks to all on this thread , even if your not talking to me , I hear you ????
  23. Hello all. Hoping everyone is doing well. Just sharing a bit. Milk : fair life fat free has 13g protein per cup and taste good. I made a smoothie today Half banana , half cup milk, 2 tbsp PB2 , half scoop unflavored protein powder and half cup ice. Blended and was delicious. About 160 calories and 20g protein.
  24. I can absolutely see the difference. It's amazing.
  25. Thanks so much. I'm sure things will get better, just have to find a way to get through it. Tough but not impossible. So glad to I'm not the only one dealing with taste issues. It smells also for me , everything has a weird smell. Don't know what that's about !
