They're legit! Just got my called that my insurance approved everything yesterday. shakes, scar treatment and Vitamins. They faxed over the prescription to my doctor and he just needs to sign off on it & my shakes should be sent out in either 2 weeks or I'll have them in two weeks. Not entirely sure. Will keep posted when I actually receive the products and what's in it.

I LOVE to cook and am just wrapping up the pureed stage off my diet. Here are some of my favorite concoctions - enjoy!
Egg salad - couple eggs, 1 tsp of mayo, 1/2 tsp of spicy brown mustard, salt & pepper - puree until smooth
Buffalo chicken - can of chicken, 1 tbsp blue cheese crumbles, 2 tbsp ranch dressing, 1 tsp. of buffalo sauce, salt & pepper - puree until smooth - MY PERSONAL FAVORITE!
Squash casserole - 1 can of squash with vidalia onion, 2 tbsp of cream cheese, 1/2 tsp of garlic powder, salt & pepper, 1 tsp margarine/butter, 1 tbsp shredded cheddar cheese - puree until smooth, pour into dish and microwave for 90 seconds or until heated through and bubbly
Pintos and cheese - 1 can of Pintos with onion - puree until smooth, pour into dish and cover with 2 tbsp. of shredded cheddar cheese - microwave for 90 seconds or until heated through and bubbly - stir well to combine the cheese - optional: add a bit of enchilada sauce if you are looking for more flavor.
    Lemon Ricotta Creme
Take one 15 oz. container of part skim ricotta cheese, add the zest of one lemon, juice of half the lemon, 1.5 teaspoons of vanilla extract and 4 packets of splenda - puree until smooth - AWESOME!!!!
You can do variations on this should you choose - substitue orange zest and 1 tbsp. of orange juice with orange extract or keep vanilla extract for a dreamsicle taste. chocolate ricotta creme is easy too by substituting 2 tbsp. cocoa powder instead of zest and juice, same vanilla extract and splenda to sweeten.
Perfect sweet tooth item instead of the same old pudding and/or jell-o and it has a high concentration of Protein due to the ricotta cheese. Enjoy!
Parmesan Garlic Cauliflower (tastes a lot like mashed potatoes, but very low carb!)
1 bag of frozen cauliflower florets
    1 tsp butter/margarine
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
    1/4 cup of parmesan cheese
    1/4 cup of milk
Blend until smooth, pour into a casserole dish and top with another 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese and microwave for 90 seconds - enjoy!

you're scheduled 3 days before me, I too am going to hate going through the holidays I start my liquid diet Friday and we Celebrate on Saturday (the 24th) . I also made a note that I will not be going out on NYE as I cannot take part in the shenanigans so my sister just decided to host all of our friends at her house this year. It'll all be worth it though when I can actually walk without feeling pain in my joints and can wear heels again and just be all around healthier than I currently am.

magnificent2015 reacted to The New Kel in Day 11 on Pre-Op Liquid Diet...
Oh yes, I sure did! I think I wrote a post on my 6th day pre-op diet. I was angry at everything!! My poor husband and kids. I was sooo snappy.
This is when the realization that I was a mental food addict started to come into focus. I really was in denial until that point. At two weeks post-op I was in full awareness, as every emotion was amplified by my loss of my best and most dysfunctional friend: food.
What I can say to you is hang in there. It will get better and your emotions will steady as you learn a new way of thinking about food. For me this was at about 4 weeks post op. I still struggle and get emotional, especially during this season where I used to eat the most for comfort.
You're almost to the surgery finish line! Congrats, and keep going. You got this! Look forward to the time when the food will no longer control you and your thoughts. It will happen.

I've had my belly button pierced for about 5-6 years. I know I'm going to have to take it out, I'm just hoping it doesn't close. The longest I've ever taken it out is probably for about a day max. I'm hoping I can keep my nose ring in, as it's a pain to take out & it'll probably will have it done for a year in January. The same month I'm getting surgery done.

magnificent2015 got a reaction from ARNOLDSMB in Nervous and my Dad is NOT helping matters any
I'm pretty much in the same boat with my family. I got into a huge fight with one of my sisters this past weekend because I finally got scheduled to have surgery. Many of my friends close to me also said they think it's because to this particular sister who's always been the skinniest, that she might see me losing weight as a threat, because she'll no longer be the "skinny- pretty" sister.
She basically told me she "doesn't trust my doctor" because I'm choosing to have surgery with the surgeon I picked almost 2 years ago in Rhode Island versus a doctor in Boston since I've moved out here. (Mind you my father practices medicine with my surgeon and works at the same hospital)
My mother also has expressed her discontent with me getting surgery and has opted not to support me. My father initially didn't support me but since has changed his mind. He recognizes that at this point with the extra weight I am no longer living my life but basically just going through the motions day in and day out.
I had to actually say to my sister who tried to root her argument in "you haven't lost any weight since you started and won't take criticism. you need to go to the gym now" I turned and said to her "because you've been obese your entire life & struggle with the constant back, ankle and shin pain"
I've decided I'm just living for me and doing what I need to do to be healthier. No one will have my best interest at heart like I do. They do not walk in my shoes, they know of my struggles, but have not experienced them. If you feel this surgery is the right thing for you, I wouldn't let anyone get in the way of that.

As someone who was denied once before because of my insurance claiming one thing, and it being another. Then having to withdraw my submission once again because although they claimed my requirements were 6 months, and not 12 (it still was 12). I want to just say to remain hopeful & don't get to caught up in the funk of being denied (Hopefully you won't but if it does). No matter what I knew I wanted this surgery and no matter how much my insurance and people around me tried to deter me I stayed hopeful. I was recently approved and am now just waiting for a date. After almost 2 years of being given the run around. I'm literally so close to it happening.
    My point is:
Don't let it get you down as much as you want to let it. Be mad, be sad, or whatever but just keep your eyes on the prize and keep it pushing.

I think most people have those high's and low's before surgery, it's natural and be prepared for it after surgery too. I dont think I had a low before the surgery however I did panic going into the pre-op room, only because I have dreadful veins and it takes an ages to get a canula in (they gave me gas before doing it as I told them that was the bit I was dreading).
I dont regret it for a second and should have done it years ago! You will be fine. Come here and talk to others, vent, chat, support others and ask for support. You have this!
    You can do it !!!

I second this. The thought of being anywhere from 75-100 pounds lighter by next summer usually takes the cake. My emotions are constantly changing. I've decided that even though I've told my family about my choice, that's as far as I'm going with it because of the lack of support.
