  1. Hi PA Sleevers! I hope to join your ranks. I am in the Levittown area of Bucks County. I have run I to a bump in the road and would welcome any suggestions. I was approved by insurance last week for vsg at Barix Clinc (10 min from home) I had my psyc eval, cardio eval, barium swallow, ugi, and pulmonolgist clearance. Great right? I called on Monday hoping to set a date. Instead the Dr told me he needed a better written eval from Pulmo. He said he would just call himself which I thought was great. And then...he calls back and says I'm too risky and to oh to a real hospital! Ack, few days of moping, then started calling hospitals. I tried Penn and Einstein both have six month weight programs. I don't want to wait more. I'm going to the Abington open house on May 3. Here's hoping no six months. (My insurance does not require it bcbs Illinois). Any one know about Abington? Good Surgeons? Wait time for dieting? Sorry for the book I've written here lol

Levittown also. Didn't go with barix seems like they make you do everything yourself I live 10 minutes from there. I am with chestnut hill hospital (Dr meilahn).

I live in Bucks and I am being sleeved by Einstein on Dec 7th.

  2. I have been poking around on the forums and wanted to introduce myself. I am a 39 yo mom of 2 boys, 10 and 7. At my recent check up, my doctor suggested I look into sleeve or bypass as a weight loss option. I am current 240lbs, but only 5'1". I have tried dieting, weight watchers, etc. over the past 15 years with little success. I always gain it back plus more. I went to an info session and am leaning towards the sleeve procedure. Any newbie suggestions, comments, advice would be appreciated. I am so glad there is this forum out there where I can share with others going through the same feelings!
