Excellent, you recognized your eating habits are going back to the old ways. Get back to basics, you must have been successful in losing weight so far. Measure, make healthier food choices, drink enough Water, eat enough Protein, exercise and journal. You can do it!

Follow your surgeon's plans. Can you have decaf? Maybe they can let you wean in with half-caf (mix decaf and caffeinated); but ask them first. Also keep in mind that coffee can be acidic, so even though it is decaf, it could possibly irritate your stomach in larger quantities. 6 weeks goes just like that. Only 42 days, only 1008 Hours, only 60,480 Minutes, only 3,628,800 Seconds from the surgery until you can have regular coffee again.

Possibly due to what you mentioned. I wonder if most of the people that regain, do so because of old habits creeping back in. That is eating more high caloric food, eating a little more than they should at a meal, eating/snacking on too many slider foods, not exercising, etc..

I don't believe you were ever a "2". Everyone has an opinion and a (bleep)hole, sometimes the opinions come out of the latter one. There are a lot of emotions during weight loss, some are hormonal, some are due to years of being in lament over one's obesity and lower self-esteem, among other emotional issues. Maybe you can seek some counseling to deal with these emotions? Perhaps you can turn those tears into tears of joy on how you overcame obesity, your improved health and all of the NSVs you are experiencing. I am a married heterosexual, so I am not hitting on you, but you do look good and earned it through your hard work to lose your excess body weight.

....And eating it while relaxing on a Polynesian beach at sunset; followed up by a tropical drink with one of those colorful bamboo umbrellas in it -that is only after waiting 30-45 minutes after eating. But for now, some avocado or "guac" sounds like a good 2nd choice.
