Stick to the post WLS diet program. If anyone asks why you are not eating most of the foods, tell them your stomach is bothering you. If they push the issue, tell them you have explosive diarreah - that will stop them them from asking any more questions.
-
Out of compassion they were concerned that you may have a health issue.
I told people who asked about my weight loss that I had WLS. Many people were glad to see me lose weight but since it was so rapidly, they were genuinely concerned about my health.
-
Really? You know every WLS patient ever on this planet personally?"WLS is the easy way out"......said no WLS patient, ever.
You should also read this thread again.
What did I miss while reading?

"WLS is the easy way out"......said no WLS patient, ever.
Bull riding can also be interpreted by someone who never rode a bull as "easy". All they think you need to do is stay on a 1,500-2000 pound, bucking, angry animal for 8 seconds using only one hand to hold a rope

Tell your friends and family how you feel and why what they are saying hurts you.
If necessary, distance yourself a little from the people who are doing this to you.
We don't need toxic people in our lives.
Stay positive. You are doing a great job losing your excess weight.

"Reset or not to reset?"
That is the question.
I personally did not try it, but was thinking about it too after gaining some weight back.
People have posted the success of doing it to get them back on track.
I need to make sure I get back to the basics and need to journal for a while as a visual accountability (record my daily water/liquid, food/quantity/protein/time/why, exercise), eat slower, chew each small bite more, etc. first and get away from old bad habits that are creeping back in.
Good luck and keep us posted.

To paraphrase a comical quote. "Politics, it comes from the Latin root "Poli" meaning many and "tics" meaning blood sucking creatures".

Welcome back. A little excitement was happening on BP these last few days, but nothing that "the doctor" can't fix.
-
And in other news, in the 4th quarter, the Patriots are leading the Texans 24 to 16.

If they aren't acting like themselves, maybe they just need a Snicker's candy bar?If you want to leave kindly leave and stop behaving like whiny children. For people who claim to be so selflessly willing to help, your whining betrays a lot.

So, you joined this site yesterday morning, you have two posts and one of them is advising someone to eat crackers and corn chips at 5 weeks out.
Fabulous!! Welcome to BP.
Are we in the presence of a :
?

If i was going to eat something after not eating for a long time it wouldn't be trash peasant food like Red Lobster. Lol if you are going to eat seafood, eat real seafood.
I thought their slogan was "Come see what's fresh today". Their new slogan of "Trash peasant food" doesn't sound very good for their business.

Are you pressing the notification box on a non touch screen computer?
In all seriouness, I have noticed a lag with opening notifications and uploading posts at times lately.
-
Speak to your PCP. It may be easiily treated. I hope you are better soon.
-
Kindle, nice to have you back, even if it is only from time to time.
I am glad everything is going well in your life.
Unfortunately the drama at BP is common at other websites too. Do not let that deter you from posting here.

Maybe they should have a Snickers candy bar?

So usually I get really mad when I see a bunch of judgmental comments when people admit to cheating but this post doesn't even acknowledge there's a problem with this picture. Even the shrimp scampi would have been difficult at 23 days. I had a plain shirt cocktail at a holiday reception at about 8 weeks out and couldn't even eat half a shrimp. I can understand why if out on a date or out with friends who don't know you were sleeved you may feel embarrassed to order something sleeve appropriate (I've been there), but seriously there must have been some other choices. I think as long as you explain you are on a diet people accept that. Say you want to stick to the Soup or appetizers and you are on a low carb diet. Get sauces on the side...

I am glad you followed your plan and had the "plain shirt cocktail" at only 8 weeks out. At 12 weeks you can have a sweater cocktail when your stomach is more healed.
(Don't you just love autocorrect).

Congratulations for all of the hard work you put in to lose your excess weight.

Ugh I know, I always try to get people to understand that it isnt as bad as some of our older generation make it seem, but only because of what they were taught. I alson wont smoke too often if it causes me to over indulge. and im sorry for your loss hun :'(I think it's sad the stigma involved with marijuana. The way you had to throw the 'disclaimer' in before you posted your question. I mean, nobody does that with alcohol? 26 states have marijuana legal in some form, and I'm sure more will follow. It's SO much less dangerous than alcohol. My dad was a pot smoker and a drinker. Guess what he died from at 56? Cirrhosis from drinking. Yup.
That being said, I'm a very casual smoker. Like before surgery, a couple times every few months, to after surgery a couple times a year (2.5 years out from surgery).
I would just be careful newly post op. I think you should wait until you are at least fully healed at around a couple months or so. I ended up cutting way back on smoking it because it hurt when I cough (No idea if it has anything to do with surgery or not, but i can actually feel it in my tummy sometimes when I do), and I would get a little bit of the munchies, although not too bad. I have a hard enough time staying on track lately, so I don't want anything making it even more difficult for me!
Anyway, my two cents
"Older generation?". I couldn't hear what you said. Can you speak up sweetie?

Im a smoker...
Im a choker....
Im a late night toker!
(I think that's how the words go)
If you are serious. ....reeeally serious about ur weightloss, im thinking some tree shouldn't deter you. If ur bs-ing, a lock-jaw procedure couldn't even save ya...u digg?
I made "tea" on day 1 - broke down &lit up about 5 days after i got home from surgery...i went VERY slow.
Im about 7wks out now & im just on reg pre-surgery routine. I workout. Im logging every bite of food, workout, sip of Water (&every joint if u can believe it) on a food logging app & i bet there's A TON of folks on this app/forum choking as they read this..... Control your munchies...your ass gone be puking if u let munchies control you. Ur stomach is tiny & vulnerable af rn.
Bottom line is U know ur body. And I bet you have researched this surgery inside &out...so u know the signs of if something is wrong. If ur brave & in want, take a LIGHT hit of some reggies (sumn that aint too strong. Dont go rolling up some couchlock) and see how u feel. If good, go again. If not, stop. I would roll up a paper & not load a bowl or bong or blunt, pray & unplug.
I would NOT do this on day 1, 2 or 3.... My bestie scolded me for not waiting a month like i said i would pre-surgery.
Yes! A vape is a darn good idea...they're gentle.I was just approved yesterday to use it medically to help me sleep, and the nurse told me that she recommends using a vaporizer. I smoked a lot of it in high school but that was a long time ago (and for different reasons, haha). It actually never occurred to me to ask any of these questions so thanks for asking them!
Pretty close, if you are thinking of the Steve Miller Band's song "The Joker":
"....I'm a joker
I'm a smoker
I'm a midnight toker..."
Yeahhh, I don't feel that old, other people know that song.

Congratulations on your weight loss so far. If you lost at that rate, in six months you would lose ~65 pounds.
This is a journey not a race, you are doing great.

I agree that you should let your surgeon know.
It probably should not change anything, but only they can make that decision.
Good luck.
