  1. Ok good, glad I'm not alone! Yes Cheerios that is so odd! Mine is mainly when I smell food other people are cooking or first thing in the morning when I wake up for the first few hours. I haven't found any solution to help with it though.

I actually haven't found anything I can't stand now that I did like before But, I have heard that is really common and it happens to many people.

  2. This is the second month in a row this has happened so now I'm searching for answers or how to prevent/make better.

I feel like during my period I can eat a lot more than I can when I'm not in it. But the day after it ends I experience nausea, especially if I drink anything or smell food. So I don't want to eat anything at all and I feel sick to my stomach.

Any ideas what this could be or what could make it better? TIA

  3. I haven't told anyone (except my husband). Before the surgery I told everyone I was going on a diet, and I did...my preop diet....where I lost 10 pounds. They noticed the weight loss in my face. After surgery I told everyone I was just cutting my portion size down and exercising. I try to feed my kids when I eat around people so they aren't specifically watching me eat. It has worked so far! No one even speculates!

  4. My surgery is May 20th in Puerto Vallarta with Dr Joya. Nervous as hell but excited too!!:blush:

I am trying to figure out what my ideal goal weight after surgery should be. I felt the most comfortable around 140lbs, but am not too sure how to figure that out. I am 5'7", and currently 238lb.

Dr. Joya is simply the best! I am 3 weeks postop and doing fantastic. You are going to love him. I was so nervous but once I arrived at Amerimed everything could have not gone better. The whole team is great!

  5. I can't believe I'm saying this, but having the VSG was one of the easiest things I've ever done. Surgery went as good as it possibly could have and I passed my leak test. I am 6 days postop and have lost 10 pounds! 14 pounds total since my preop diet.

Dr. Joya was absolutely amazing. Nathalie, Dr. Joya'a Nutritionist and coordinator, walked me through every single step of the process. Before surgery, each member of my surgical team came to visit me in my room which lessened my anxiety. Amerimed Hospital couldn't have been any more perfect. I had a huge room, 2 tv's and my nurses were bilingual. In fact, almost everyone I came in contact with, from admission to security, were bilingual. I did have pain, but much less than I expected, however my nurses came right in to bring my medicine any time I called. I never once vomited, although I was a little nauseated at first but that quickly lessened. I was discharged 2 days after surgery and brought to Sunset Plaza Hotel. I had my own butler who even went to pickup my prescriptions for me.

I am now a firm believer in choosing the right surgeon. Dr. Joya is HIGHLY recommended.

  6. How did it go for you? And how are you feeling?

Mine went great, they did the leak test this morning and no leaks! Praise God!! I am a little sore and my chest is heavy from the air rising but I've been walking and even walked down to elevator and to my leak test...no wheelchair! I am taking a few sips of Apple juice but not all that into it.

  7. I'm scheduled to be at the surgical center at 6:30 tomorrow. I'm not sure what time surgery will actually be...assuming 8-9:00?? I'm in the Middle East so my time is 7 hrs ahead of eastern time zone. I should be done while most of you are still sleeping.

I'm trying to get my last few ducks in their respective places. Lol. Bottled Water should be delivered later this afternoon. I already have lots of unflavored Protein (picked that up from the pharmacy last week). I have crystal light and a bunch of SF Jello boxes. I still have to pick up a few things at the commissary, mostly stuff for my kids while I'm in the hospital.

Hopefully I don't forget anything for myself. Shopping outside the U.S. is challenging enough....no SF Popsicles here. I'll just have to be creative. Looks like it's gonna be Dixie cups and crystal light. ????

Good luck!!!!! Praying for Ya! Let me know how it goes today!
