    Unrelated disease

From what the doctor told me the foreign object like the lap band doesn't cause autoimmune diseases like Lupus. However, people with Lupus and the other immune diseases, the patient doesn't show signs of the disease, or it the disease just goes undiagnosed, till they get the band and the disease reacts to it.

    Constantly weighing yourself?

Sorry, didn"t mean to be a smart ass comment. Honestly, if you think you have a "disease" looking at the scale multiple times a day then seeking professional help would be best.

    Lazy

Waht do you do when your "being lazy"? I use do it to. Then I noticed 50% of my lazy time was sitting watching TV. SO, I got a treadmill and put in front of the TV. I watch 1hour of my shows and get 3 miles of walking in.

    Banded June 12th!! Feel Good!

Glad to hear your doing alright! Congradulations! I hope my recovery goes as well.
  10. MY point is that it doesn;t matter how much they put in or take out. Its all about how your body is. Lets say you get a fill of .5CC and 4 weeks later you can;t stand eating anything since the last fill and you go back for an unfill. Say you lossed 12 lbs that month, the doctor may only want to take .25cc out because with the weight you lossed .5cc out might be too much. Instead of squabbling with the patient about what the numbers are the doctor is better off knowing what your body is telling you. I work with computers. The one thing I hate is going to a service call and instead of the person telling me whats wrong with the computer, they want to spend 30 minutes explaining how they want me to fix it. Again, I think a doctor should tell the person if they ask. As far as coming out and telling the patient right away? I don't blame them if they don't say because the numbers are not what is important since the body and fluids are constantly changing anyways.
  11. The doctor doesn't want to tell you how much because he doesn't want you to focus on how much liquid he is putting in, rather pay attention to what your body is telling you. Yes by law he has to tell you. But he is reluctant to tell you and for good reason. And yes, if your still losing more then 10lbs a month then you don't need a fill. But again, if you feel that you "need" a fill, tell him why. Saying your eating too much will probably not convince him because if your losing that much weight you are definitly not eating too much. However, if your losing that weight but you are starving the whole time and feel like your going to crack, then that might be cause to get a fill. Bottom line: Concentrate more on what your body is telling you and not what your medical charts tells you. Oever time you will have to factor in stomach fat changes, liquid evaporation, and other factors and knowing how many CC's you have won;t make a lick of difference. Also, if your not hungry all the time and you are losing 1-2lbs a week, the band is working as intended and you don;t need an adjustment. Good luck and grats on your weight loss!

    Hurley Hospital

I have Farhan right now. I am 1 week from my surgery. S far, everyone has been nice. I have no idea about the hospital yet. Although I was there to get my pre op testing done and everyone I met was very nice. I believe the woman you see at the top of this page AKA Boo Boo Kitty had Dr. Farhan also. Don't get scared. Hurley Bariatrics has a pretty good rep. Insurance process is the wors prt about it, lol.

Who's the man Obama or MCcain?

I would love to see Obama/Edwards ticket, and would like to see Hillary take that dumb Harry Reid's job as Majority Lead in the Senate.

Who's the man Obama or MCcain?

I would love that ticket also. I would vote for McCain, maybe if he had huckabee as his VP. I won't hold my breath.

Who's the man Obama or MCcain?

Raising taxes, how many times does he have to say it?
  18. snuffy65

Who's the man Obama or MCcain?

Hate to break this to ya, but either will raise taxes. McCain just won't say it right now. If McCain wins, he will be out in 4 years just like when senior Bush said "no new taxes".

    ??? for banded cops

I saw a law enforcment thread so figured some cops would see this if I posted here. I am getting banded the end of June. In August my wife and I will be moving to Florida for her job. I am a network administrator but have a degree in criminal justice and I am thinking about switching careers when I move. My question is: If I get the band, do you see it effecting BPT in anyway besides making more fit for physical work. Like will the port get smashed around or something. And also, has the band ever hindered you when you were working? Thanks in advance!

    Betrayal is a BITCH

I would go to counceling with him if you can. Even if you do not planning on staying with him. At least, you will know WHY he did it. That will make the break alot easier.
