  1. Its because with lapband, or any other WLS you are limiting your food intake. It will be very difficult to get enough nutrients in the day when you achieve good restriction. So, when you are eating you should always make sure you are getting enough Protein first. Sure you will still lose wieght if you don;t get enough protein, however, you will also be losing lean body mass which is very bad for your metabolism and your overall health. Therefore protein is the most important nutrient for us.

    Optifast

Its probably the same headaches you would get if you cut 75% of your caloric intake. I would get headaches if I didn't eat anything before dinner for that day. I had them on my first 3 days of my diet. No biggie.

    Counting Calories

Not sure why the doc would suggest 2200 calories a day. Even the most basic of diets require only 1800. Personally, I am shooting for 1200 calories. Most is going to come from proteins. Trying to keep my carbs unders 80G's a day. I use Calorie Counter - Free Online Diet Journal

    Jazzy Junes Spreadsheet!!!!

Thank you!. I am in the middle of sending PM's ot everyone on cathychatt's lists in the other thread. I will be entering more when I get done with that. I will have to put in a "filler" for your waist then for now. But if you want you can use your pants size. I understand if you don't want to give it, however. But one last thing. You will be hitting weight lost "plateaus" throughout your journey. During these "plateaus" you won't see progress on the scale but people report you still lose your waistline. That would be a good time to check your sizes.

    Post Surgery check in here

Glad to hear your OK. I sure am glad I have to stay in the hospital overnight. I think I would freak out if I had to go home and sleep unattended that first night :rolleyes2: From what I hear alot of people have a hietal hernias. Its just most people don't have surgeries to fix them because usually they don;t bother them. However, since the surgeon is working right there anyways they go ahead and fix them.

    Post Surgery check in here

Gratz on 2week anniversry Cathy. Glad your on solids now. Just FYI that restriction might go away in the next week or so. Your stomach is still mildly swollen for a few more weeks. So you will get looser. However, at least you know what some restriction is like and know that it will help you.

    anyone else??

Well, if it is Ketosis then the only "cure" for it would be ride it out o eat more carbs. I wouldn't eat more carbs though. When on atkins, I had this and it went away after 3 weeks.

I took the need for your BMI out. The chart now calculates it using the BMI calculations with your weight.
