    GOT MY DATE - JUNE!

@spiceyfrog. Congrats!!! I almost chose June 9th but decided on a Friday because of the weekend. When you go on my profile and look towards the bottom, you can click add as a friend. Then that person appears as one of your friends (makes it quicker to find someone you talked to). Also, I believe any topic that they post or updates, you will be alerted in your notifications. @@weightlossmama2 Congrats as well... So happy for all of us!!! I will keep you posted and check on your progress as well.

    APPROVED!

Hello EVERYONE, Just want to share in my celebration today while shouting to the top of my lungs that I received my approval for my surgery today. I am so overwhelmed with JOY that I didn't have anymore requirements. Next is my surgery date and I will know by tomorrow. I am shooting for next month (JUNE). There are openings so I'm jumping in head first. I need to heal and be ready to enjoy the summer with my kids. Thanks for all your support before now and after and I will keep everyone posted when I settle on a date.

    APPROVED!

Thanks everyone!!! @@SavorySweet I agree that this process is going so fast and I am blessed that I am able to be in this whole heartily, no doubts or reservations. @@Martene81 Oh yeah!!! I couldn't get a surgery date without an approval at my medical center. That is awesome your date is just around the corner and it worked out to coincide with your summer break. Your student are going to be in for a treat when school starts back in the fall. Have you told anyone at your school? I know you will keep us posted on your progress. I will be watching and many blessings!!

    Let's talk about EXERCISE!

@@KalelsWifey yes, be sure to check out the On-Demand when you get a chance. I did a Julian Michaels workout this morning. Last night, some yoga with Rodney Yee, it was awesome. They have all of the big names trainers as well. Sounds you are excited and ready to GO. Thanks to everyone's responses we all will have a BIG variety to choose from... Thank you so much! To be honest I hadn't even thought about looking at on demand!! What a great idea. I too can do that before my girls wake up and have my first work out in. I try to do two walks a day mixed with typical errands running up and down stairs in my house. I average a good amount of steps per day. I like this idea a lot though. I will be looking at then tonight.

    Let's talk about EXERCISE!

@@KalelsWifey Hi there. I enjoy exercising especially cardio. It is just I had limited time to go to the gym as much as I use to so I put on the extra pounds and medical issues were next. I ordered an elipitical/exericse bike and like that but my knees don't, lol. Shortly I discovered that there was a fitness catagory on my Xfinity on-demand channel with all types of fitness videos. Strength training, pilates, yoga, everything... My very favorites are the speed WALKING videos. They are WONDERFUL. You can chose to walk 1 mile, 2miles or 3 all in your home. They are all cardio packed with weights or without. The 1-mile is 18 minutes, 2miles is 34 minutes, 3 miles 53 minutes. Super fast power walking... There are so many catagories of walking/jogging/strength training videos you can do in your home when you are pressed for time or don't want to leave the house. Easy moves so you can focus on working hard in getting it done. Trust me, I feel the workout just as much. I usually wake up half hour or 45 minutes early and turn one on get my cardio done, shower and then wake up my children. I have decided that I need to come first with my health and this is my time to myself with no interruption. When I get up early and exercise, no one is awake I can focus on myself. This way, I am done with the workout and not have to stress all day about how I will fit it in when I get home & exhausted. I have also seen these videos dirt cheap on Amazon. Let me know & I will give you the name of some good ones :-)
  15. @firehazzard6029 Thanks, I have a membership card to the Vitamin shoppe and there is one about 3-miles from where I live. I'm going to go and check out what they have. Thanks AGAIN!!
  16. @@KingMoose Thanks ALOT... I seached and didn't see anythng close to me I live in Indiana and there is a store in Wicker Park about 24 miles from me. If I go in that area, I will check it out. I'm going to look on line as well as make a couple of calls to them.

    SLEEP STUDY

@@TLW oh my.. yes i do understand it is a pain. I will feel the same as u. Inside, I really do. I did wake up once or twice with the hose every which way. However with that cpap machine, i slept the best that I have slept in a very, very long time. So, until i get this weight off, i will be batteling the hose each and everynight...it beats getting up everyday feeling like i never went to bed. Dozing off all day. I will sleep better no collapses of breaths while im sleeping. "pappy" yes, I named the damm machine, and I will become the very best of friends!!!

    SLEEP STUDY

GREAT NEWS!!! My CPAP machine will be delivered this evening. I will have happy dreams tonight. Finally I had the sleep study a week ago and after knowing I have sleep apnea and having 71 times per minutes collapses while I am sleeping without the use of the cpap, I have not been able to sleep since last Monday night worrying about if I am breathing while I sleep. I can't wait to get a full nights rest tonight... HOORAY!!! Happy Dance :-)

    Newbie with the jitters

@@peggums Hi and I must give you a huge THANK YOU for your post. Awesome advice... I also have chosen not to tell family, friends or co-workers. Right now, this is my journey and my personal business. I'm only telling my son, significant other, and 1 nurse that is a very close friend and I trust her. I kept her lap band a secret for 2-years now. I feel the same as what you guys previously stated. I don't need the opinions, theory or stories of people that they know who had issues or hate their lives after weight loss surgery. I really don't care to explain my decision like I am asking permission...

    Time off work for recovery

@@snickysnack78 Yes that is awesome that you are able to work from home. This should be a very comfortable recovery time for you. @@dhrguru I hope you start feeling better soon. I hear from others that within a week going into the second week the pain is tolerable. I can't imagine with everything that is done surgically but I am praying that this is my outcome as well. My job is also very chill I work at my desk and don't really have to move around much. No lifting, bending or shifting. I would go crazy at home for a long period of time.

    Time off work for recovery

Yes I agree say 4-weeks and if you don't need it you can return but at least you will have that option, I firmly feel that I won't disclose. It's no one's business feel the same as you@ThruChristICan.
  25. lisaanewme67

    Time off work for recovery

Thanks everyone. i have been trying to figure this out myself. I don't plan on disclosing why I am need to be off specifically. Only that I am having a medical procedure and need time off. I was told that 2-weeks would be plenty. Although I have close to 2-months sick time saved up, I want to be active so staying at home for 4-weeks seems alot for me. I also have a job where I sit for hours. I am extremely busy but it requires me working the desk and computer. I do get up, move around. Hour for lunch. I walk from where I park to work and back so that is great exercise. I am afraid if I stay home, I will get into a slump not moving around. My surgeon said based on what I do, 2-weeks would be fine. My General Medicine Doc says 4-weeks. Not sure just don't want to be lazy. I will have FMLA so if I run into complications, I will take more time. I just hate sitting/laying around. We will see though. I am super duper excited!!!
