    What blender do you use?

I had an older Ninja that worked very well, however it was hard to clean (this was the rectangular model, so stuff would get stuck in the corners). I wound up replacing it with a NutriBullet (from Costco) and am very pleased with it.

    Skin break out?

I'd see a dermatologist, as I did. They did a skin test and it was very uncomfortable. They basically tape about 12 sensors on your back. It covered almost my entire back -- and I had to leave it on for 2 or 3 days. My back was SO itchy. And after all was said and done, I didn't react to anything -- which is why I think my dry skin is some strange byproduct of the surgery. Anyway, good luck, hope you figure it out. I plan on stopping this prescription cream soon to wait a few days and see if the dry skin returns.

    Skin break out?

I'm about 2 months post-op. Maybe 2 weeks after surgery, I noticed my skin got really dry on my face. Started around my eyes, then ears (inner and outer), then forehead, chin, etc. I was going crazy trying to figure it out. Moisturizer wasn't doing anything. Wound up going to see a dermatologist, and they still don't know what caused it, but of course I think it's something to do with the surgery, as I've never had dry skin before in my life -- I'm 38. I have some prescription cream that they told me to apply twice/day. I think it's called Protopic? It's working, but I don't know what's going to happen if I stop using it. I've only been on it for a few weeks. Also it stinks.
  4. I had the same requirement, for the same time frame. I didn't exactly follow it... But if I remember correctly, it's to help you lose weight to make the surgery easier, more room to work with, decrease the size of the liver(?) and things along those lines. I was miserable through it, and they even warned me that was the worst part.

    Coffee

I had my 2 month follow-up with the dietician yesterday, and was cleared for regular coffee. She recommended no more than 2 cups/day.
  6. The beef broth I was drinking in the hospital has made me hate beef broth forever.

    Too much for me

I think I was about 35lbs out when I really started to finally see the difference -- mainly in my face. It was hard to eat and drink after surgery. It was as if I didn't have the willpower -- I just didn't want to eat or drink, and I can't explain why. But it went away. I also loved eggs prior to surgery. Now I'm just like "Ehh, I'm too lazy to make them."

    Hiccups!

I had the hiccups up until probably 3 days after surgery. Was very annoying. They say you can hug a pillow to minimize the effect, but it didn't seem to help me; my hiccups usually came with no warning so I wasn't fast enough to grab a pillow, and yes, it hurt. I found it VERY difficult to get enough fluids in the first few days after surgery, but it gets much better, trust me. I have no problem getting down 64-80oz of just Water alone daily, not to mention I drink 2-3 cups of coffee now also. This is not counting water used for Protein shakes, either.

    gas and smell

I didn't have a lot of gas, but the smell of the ketones was yucky for the first few weeks. My girlfriend hated it, said she always smelled it on me, but it went away eventually.

    Just made decision!

I had a 3 months wait/program to follow prior to surgery.
  11. I'm nearing 2 months post-surgery, and finally started throwing some stuff out from my closet, as my clothes are getting too big. Threw out some pants and shirts the other day. Feels good.
  12. How do I get those fields to appear on the left side of my posts? I've entered the information in my profile, but cannot figure out why they won't show up under my avatar.
  13. I've already entered all of that information, but it still won't show up.
  14. I was given a pill crusher by the hospital. My dietician advised me to crush pills to be on the safe side, as not everyone can take whole pills. In my case, I was given a 3-month prescription for a gallstone medication, and also take Zyrtec daily. I crushed for the first six weeks, and then started taking them whole. I've been fine since.
  15. With me, it's more of cravings than hunger. I don't get nearly as hungry as I used to. Late night is probably where it catches up to me.

    Hairloss and Hairstyles

So Biotin helps reduce the hair loss? I am only 2 months out from my gastric bypass and the barber already commented my hair was getting thinner
  17. Does the no drinking 30 minutes before/after meals also apply to protein shakes? I was wondering if not adhering means I wouldn't get to absorb enough of the nutrients from the shake.

From the 3s to the 2s

I've lost over 40 lbs in less than 2 months. Highest was 335.
  19. Congrats, I finally got back out of the 300s as well recently.

    Decaf. Coffee

I've been drinking decaf like crazy, was also told it was fine.
  21. MyFitnessPal is hugely popular, and integrates with lots of other apps. Fitbit also.
  22. Actually, I should have worded my response differently. My approval didn't take 3 months, but I was required to undergo a 3-month program (meeting with dietician, doctors, etc.) prior to the surgeon's office sending the "packet" to Aetna, showing I had met the requirements. The approval took a little over a week, I believe.
  23. I planned on taking 2 weeks off, and if I didn't have complications that wound up keeping me out an additional 2 weeks, I'd have been fine with returning to work after 2 weeks. Of course I think it depends on the type of work you do. I'm at a desk all day, and sitting was a little uncomfortable at first. Getting in and out of cars can be uncomfortable for some. In my case, I wasn't able to get into my car until the 3 week mark I think without pain. I got fatigued easily the first few days out of the hospital, but it didn't stop me from doing things around the house and going for walks outside.
  24. My approval took just a little under 3 months. After that, if I recall correctly, my surgery was scheduled approximately 3 weeks after that.
  25. My surgery was 04/21/15, and I would like to start running tomorrow. I used to run a lot, half-marathon here and there I feel fine, was thinking I would start out very lightly. Just wondering when others started up running.
