Walking a lot helps with the gas
-
Don't worry -it's a stall..
It's weird I didn't lose much for a few weeks, then like overnight 8lbs gone.. I'm ok with that.

: high fives :

I'm not sure the reasons for denial-my BMI was 41, so I didn't need another reason.. They were saying it had to do with my paperwork -once it was the fact I gestational diabetes-I had it many many years ago.. I was like um ok? My surgeons office kept putting it through since I should've been approved no matter what..
-
It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought-none of it.. My hernia repairs & gallbladder removal were rougher.. I was up walking around.. I rested a bit.. I was in good spirits and on good pain meds. But really nothing at all like I expected, in a good way. I had no complications & I've never once thrown up.
-
My insurance denied me twice.. The third time I was approved.. You can fight it.
-
Initially I was hypomanic-which I attribute to the anesthesia.. Then I started over absorbing almost everything (I have been on this cocktail forever & it was like all my side effects amplified like crazy-most noticeable was tiredness & word finding problems) & they halved most all the doses.
I had the sleeve.
They did not stop any psych meds when I was in the hospital & no crushing anything. I was fine.
-
About absorption-my Pdoc has had to half a bunch of my doses on some meds & I was having effects as if it was double the dose & I was over absorbing it.. She said with my meds this happens. I had the sleeve.
-
(I also take lithium-in capsule form..)
-
The next day & they did not crush them. I was fine.

I had my surgery 3-23 too & I eat spicy food like crazy.. We love Indian food especially & I've been out numerous times. I can't eat much & take the majority home & you can't drink after (if it's too hot for you) my surgeon totally ok'd it too.

I picked up Nexium as I hadn't been prescribed it & started taking it-and yeah I'm not hungry.. That's acid.. If I miss a day though of Nexium-it's gross.. I had acid come up my throat and up my nose when I was asleep (this wasn't an issue before) now I don't miss

I'm 5 weeks out & I can eat everything I used to just smaller portions. I'm never nauseated -unless I accidentally overeat & I've never vomited. I had the sleeve. The only issue I have is that I can't gulp down Water like I once could. meat has been no issue.. Though interestingly enough steamed veggies are a bit overly filling.

Yep I'm stalling, but my clothes are like huge now.. And my ribcage measurement went down a few inches. So I'm definitely getting smaller-but my scale isn't doing much. I'm just going with the flow.
-
My mood was really low after surgery & my psychiatrist (I see one regularly) told me it was due to anesthesia.. Apparently it can last awhile depending on what combination they used & everyone's response is different. I'm a month out now & I'm so much better.
It will get better.. You just need to heal.. <3 :hugs:

My weight loss has slowed. I find this weird as I'm waaay more active than I was. I eat incredibly small portions compared to what I was.. I'm a month out & I can eat pretty much all foods-I've done steak etc.. I'm just going with the flow. I feel better & my clothes are a lot bigger.. I've lost quite a bit in regards to sizes.
-
A few weeks, but it takes very little to satiate it
-
I slept on my side immediately after, I'm a side sleeper normally. I had no issues.
-
I don't drink with big meals at all anymore-it's waaay too uncomfortable & too full. I can eat all foods now-I've ate steak etc.. I've still never thrown up & hopefully I won't.

Hello everyone i was sleeved the 6 jan 15 down 53 lbs I've been stalled up my excerise plan Water and Protein Shakes are still hard for me to drink due to lactose intolerance any suggestions
I have lactose intolerance, rather severe (I had it long before surgery) & I use the Bariatric Advantage shakes just fine. I mix them with water.

I also walked quite a bit starting at like a week out..in fact I'm getting ready to walk about 2 miles in a few minutes. I'm 3.5 weeks out now.
-
It took me like 2 weeks, but I was put on a ton of Vitamins & some optional supplements-like amino acids etc.. then no longer needed certain meds that were making me tired for years.. I can't wait to see what happens in a year.
How bad is the gas pains?

The first day-it hurt in my shoulders and chest, I thought I was having heart issues.. I was on a lot of pain meds though, they had me on dilaudid & demerol (I can't do morphine & I don't respond normally to pain meds) so day #1 is a blur.. I know I wanted to walk a lot though. Day 2 I was on Demerol still-and felt realllly drugged, but I walked a ton which really helped the pressure-pain wise I was a-ok & in good spirits.
