Jus a quick update. Surgery was a success. Surgeon said it was straightforward, textbook surgery, no issues.
Which is good, because the pain I experienced for the first 4-5 hours post opt was the worst I've had in my life. I mean, it was scary bad. They finally got a pain combo that worked for me, plus the passage of time, and I feel human again.
Still taking the pain meds as I don't want to get "behind" the pain again, but my pain at this point is pretty low.
Just ice chips for now, but that's fine with me. Just thirsty.

Thanks. Just took my lap around the hospital floor, no problem. Nurse says I'm doing great and hitting all my goals for the day. Now if they would just let me sleep!!! Lol.

You're right about not being able to take it back, I could completely regret it. There are some people I'd never tell too, & if I tell the majority, I'm sure the minority would find out eventually & not from me in the way I'd be happy for them to know....Thank you for your advice <3

Day 2 pre op diet so far so good, broth isn't that bad lol.

No idea, but interested as well I have a desk job as well no elevator tho, 1.5 flights of stairs to get to work or go to bath room. I have surgery on the 23rd of march and took till the 8th of April off. Hope it is enough. I work graveyard.

Well 440 was my highest 413 currently been on my own diet since january. Luckily my preop diet is a few more days away, although I'm already half doing it. Hopefully my tastes stay similar as I don't mind premier Protein shakes (except chocolate I have never really liked chocolate anything.) I like greek yogurt, cottage cheese. Call me crazy but I'm actually tempted to start the diet tommorrow. I just so want to be part of the process. Mar 23rd can't come soon enough.

@@con con Feel free to PM me if you have questions/concerns about going outside the US for surgery. I've gone to Mexico twice for surgery (once for plastics, and once for VSG) and plan to be going again in late August/early September. I'd be happy to share my personal experiences with you.

My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday March 8th. I'm on the 13th day of my two week liquid diet. Except for a few days of headaches I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not tired. I'm not hungry. I'm just ready for this. I was supposed to have 1200 calories a day of shakes and Jello and broth and Water. Most days I can barely get 800 in. The shakes were very filling.
I'm happy to hear from those of you whose surgeries went well and I wish all the best to those who are about to have the surgery, like me! I only recently found this forum and I'm glad I did. I'll be back for post-surgery tips and hints.

Might be March not sure yet insurance has approved, just waiting for doctor to find out. 37 y/o 6'2 440 at my heaviest, 420 now, with sleep apnea, no other issues luckily. Used to be army infantry. Dr Hamilton in Topeka KS will be my doctor. So stoked when I found out my out of pocket is 200 for surgeon 40 for preop visit co pay, and 100 a day up to 500 for inpatient at bcbs center of excellence in topeka. I have fed bcbs standard.

Current 416 goal 395

I'm in will post weight and goal on 22nd
