    Any Pre-Op Cheaters?

Slipping on the pre-op diet is common, Many threads deal with this (Read old and new posts). Your Dr. is asking you to do this to make his job much easier. It does not mean that he won't be able to do it. How many of us had to have emergency abdominal surgeries over the years and couldn't do a pre-op diet? The pre-op diet also prepares the new bander for the liquid post-op diet. I've read so many posts on here where the people who have been banded are now "experts" in the surgery. You may know alot about your own experience, but please don't judge everyone who didn't have your exact experience. My 2 cents....

    100 Lbs. Post Op.

I was so excited to see that others are having the same success I am having. I was banded on 12/6/07 and have lost 28 lbs. in 3 weeks. I woke up this morning and realized that I paid about $500 per pound that I have lost to date. By the time I reach my goal, the cost will be $112 per pound. I realize that hamburger costs a whole lot less, but when I think of the true cost of putting all the weight on... $112 per lb is a bargain!! I still want to hear about all your great sex, Dave. Maybe we can start a "Sex after Banding" thread for adults only!! :whoo:

    December Surgery Dates

I was banded 2 weeks ago! I had my first follow up appointment today and got great news!!!! I have lost 18 lbs since I last weighed in 3 weeks ago at my pre-op appointment! And better than that... I FEEL GREAT! No pain at all!! My scars are healing well. I will go in for my first fill in 3 weeks. I can't weigh!!!!! That was a bad pun!!! Good luck to the rest of you December Banders!!! Chris
  4. My Dr. asked me to do the liquid diet a week before the surgery. He told me that it would make his job easier because it would remove any pressure around the liver. He said that not everyone did it, but if I did, he would have an easier time. In the end, I did the morning and afternoon liquids, but had already scheduled "Last Suppers" with friends and family. He had no problems whatsoever in what I did. Talk to your Dr. Good luck on your Journey!!! Chris :clap2:

    Headaches from Liquid Diet

Hi, I was banded on 12/6 and understand what you are talking about! I wonder if your headaches are coming from the liquids you are taking or if, like in my case, they may be coming from lack of caffeine. Getting off caffeine was the first Non-scale Victory I have had. BUT, it was rough!!! In fact, I had the headaches until 2 days after the surgery. The liquid Lortab seemed to help and then I continued to take Tylenol for a few more days for the headaches and general after surgery pains. Keep your head up, it will pass!!! Good luck in your journey. Chris :clap2:

    Big Nsv!!!

I was banded last Thursday by Dr. Alldredge and I must report the 1st NSV (Non-Scale Victory): I am officially off of caffeine! I have been a Caffeine addict since I was a young child. I have not had a sip of soda, nor will I succomb to my worst vice!! I began to wean myself a week ago, then had my last drink on Weds. night. Headache from hell!!!! Thank goodness for the liquid drugs on Thursday thru Sat. I have been taking 500mg of Tylenol twice a day since. I feel great! My band will be my tool to rise above it all!!!!! Good luck to all of the rest of you!!!

    Big Nsv!!!

Forgive my forwardness, but you look GREAT!! If giving up Mt. Dew can do that for you, I have hope for myself!!! I am not even craving pop. I never could say that before. I would love to have one, because I'll always be a slave to it. Maybe once I've fully healed I will take a sip just to prove how nasty it is now!!!! Keep up the great work! Lucky husband!!!! Chris

    Utah Forum!

I was banded on 12-6-07 by Dr. Alldredge. I'm feeling pretty good but do have some soreness on the port side. Eating and drinking has been weird! I am afraid of not having enough nutrition. I feel somewhat weak from surgery and I figure this all will pass in the next few days. Glad I finally did something about my weight. I hope all goes well in the next few months.
