    How much weight? How fast?

I had surgery 6/30. RNY. Lost 24 lbs in the first week (including the 2 days liquid pre op). And..... nothing since. I've been in a 3 week stall. Everyone says its normal. I saw my dr a couple of days ago for my one month follow up. She said once I start taking in more calories it'll start dropping. I've gone into starvation mode and my body is waiting for more nutrition. Ok. I'll be patient...

    Port Problems

My dr won't even do a lap band anymore.

    FRUSTRATED

I lost 20 in the first week. Probably a big part of it was water weight from the surgery. Not a single pound since. I'm 4 weeks today and have been in a 3 week stall. How can I possibly not be losing? Tomorrow is my 1 month check up. Maybe she can tell me what's going on. And yes. So frustrating.

    7/13/15 rny gastric done!

Keep sipping. Every couple of minutes. Pretty soon you'll know your limits and it will be habit. Keep the bottle close and just keep sipping. After my 3rd day I had no trouble getting in my water. Maybe not the full recommended amount but enough to assure myself I was doing fine.
  5. Diets are the same but it depends on your doctor. Acid reflux will get worse with the sleeve. I started wanting the sleeve but had to switch to bypass when we discovered damage to my esophagus from 'silent reflux'. Didn't even know I had it. Had my surgery on June 20 and am thrilled with it.

Road Trip - Is it safe?

We drove home 2 days after my surgery. 4 hour trip. We stopped every hour (once we got out of the city) so I could walk a bit and move around. Of course I was tired but I slept a big part of the way. I don't see any problem with your trip. Keep your water bottle close and sip on a protein drink.
  7. I go in at 8:30 in the morning! It's finally time. I've worked so hard for this. All of the people on here give great insight as to what to expect. I'm ready.

    Tomorrow's the day...

I'm doing great. Home the day after surgery. No pain after the 4th day. By day 5 I was able to get my protein quota. Water was easy and I've been able to fulfill my quota most days. It's been a great experience so far. Today is day 22. Only issues are the fact that I'm so tired I can't do much more than take a shower. And I haven't lost a single pound since day 7...... Aaaarrrrrgghhh. But I'm patient.

    Exhaustion

My incisions are closed and not even itching any more. No discomfort. Just the tired. I can't imagine going to work like this. I wouldn't be able to make it thru a day.

    Exhaustion

That's me. I'm exhausted and weak as a new kitten with very little exertion. When will this get better? I'm 22 days post.
  11. I've taken 5 weeks off. My job is extremely physical and very strenuous. I'm very fortunate that I've have no pain after the first 3 days. After 7 days I've been able to get my water and protein requirements. Get the supplements down. My issue is I'm so frigging tired. I can't seem to get any energy. When I get up I make a cup of tea. Take a round of supplements. Feed the dogs and let the hens out of the coop. I take a shower and I'm exhausted. I have to lay down and nap after only 45 minutes. 22 days post and I'm still weak and tired. I couldn't imagine going back to work after a week or two.

    Help. Pre Op Diet Phase

Just stay strong. Use this as a training period for the rest of your life. You can be strong. You need to be.
  13. Same here. I've stayed at the same weight since 1 week after surgery. I'm 21 days out now. So frustrated. I don't know whether to lower the calorie intake or raise it. Or just be patient and wait for it to kick in. How can I not be losing?
  14. I'm 21 days post. I can sip continually without getting filled. That's with nothing else in the pouch. But small sips. Spread them out. Too much too quick and you'll feel it.

    I'm so tired.....

Thanks wildGoose. I think I'll take a nap and think about that.

    Why no Aleeve?

Aleve and other NSAIDs can cause damage to your esophagus and stomach. With our stomach almost nonexistent NSAIDs are pretty much out of the question. I'm going to have to talk to my pcp and work on another type of pain reliever myself. I'm 18 days post and have to have something for my arthritis.

    Questions I need help answering

Ashley, you will probably have to wait but as soon as the final hoop has been hurdled it should go very fast. After my final NUT visit the paperwork was submitted the next day and I got approval 2 days later and was in surgery in 8 days. I'm 18 days post and doing so well I'm truly surprised.

    Light headed

Hi. I'm 18 days post and I feel the same. Kind of fuzzy brained, I guess. I forget silly stuff and feel a little slow. Physically and mentally. Everything is going so great I'm not too concerned. I have another couple weeks before I have to go back to work so I'm hoping the brain will kick in before then.

    Kill the scale!

Sarahbee, same here. Surgery 6/30 and 24 pounds. Nothing for 2 weeks. I know why. I do understand but when I think of the tiny amounts of nothing I'm eating it's so frustrating.
  20. Great results. You look wonderful.

    Looking for other newbie friends!

Good morning! 6/30 was my bypass date, too. I'm feeling great and so ready to move onto the next phase of the nutrition. I'm very easy to tire. I just vacuumed part of the dining room and I'm absolutely whupped (as my dad would say). Very weak and have a hard time concentrating. Leftovers from the anesthesia and surgery and lack of calories and whatever. But everything's going according to plan. How are you today? Still feeling good?

    On my way!

My surgery was Tuesday. At my sis in law till yesterday morning and home yesterday. I feel really good. Still very tired and am feeling some gas pressure this morning around my chest. I guess that's what it is. Protein shakes, water, hot tea this morning. Lots of water. Crush some of my pills and mix with yogurt. So far my body is tolerating everything really well. I'm definitely not pushing it. Slow and easy. I'm really surprised at how good I feel.

    TODAY'S THE DAY

Let us know how it's going. I'm 7 days out and doing really well. Tired but great.
  24. HappyValleyHappy

    On my way!

Started on the shakes 8 hours before I left the hospital. Yesterday and today were the only days I was able to finish an entire protein shake. Supposed to do 2 a day but just haven't been able to do it. Doing fine with the water, tho. Where I live we've been between 102 and 115 degrees since way before the surgery so water is always a big part of our intake. It's all going so well. I'm knocking wood for sure.

Anyone else's post op like this?

In the hospital I was on full liquids to continue for 2 weeks. 2 weeks on soft stuff then regular within reason. I'm 4 days out and feeling pretty good.
