    Where Alabama at?

I'm from Bama, but had surgery in January. Just wanted to wish y'all the best on this amazing journey!
  2. Noname22

I'm just going to leave this right here.

Some things about me: -Born and raised in Alabama, no I have not ever dated my cousin and do not intend to do so. Roll Tide y’all! -I was told the possibility of having kids were slim to none. 12 days before my 5th wedding anniversary was the single absolute best day of my life. The day I became a mom, the little guy definitely has my heart. -I got married too young, if I could have a redo….I would. -I will Celebrate my 30th birthday in January; the thought of it gives me high anxiety. I’m a firm believer in age is just a number, but for myself the thought of aging is terrifying. -I’m the middle child-definitely suffer from the Marcia, Marcia, Marcia syndrome. I was the only girl in the house growing up with an older and younger brother. They made me tough. -I’ve had the same best friend for 17 years-we’re sisters from different lovers. She gets me, she knows when something is wrong with me before I can ever say a word. I’m the same with her. -I’ve been told that I am too nice, too sweet, too caring. In light of recent events, I am beginning to think that I am. I need to find my inner b!tch and embrace her. HA! -I’ve had a job ever since I was old enough to have one. My first job was at my dad’s BBQ shack, it was in our backyard. We lived in the smack middle of a very small town, I felt like we fed the entire community. Sometimes the whole county, for some reason neither brother was made to work in there. Middle child syndrome is a real thing! -I have worked for the same company for the past 7 years as a coordinator for several doctors in my area. I love my job for the most part, but lately I have wanted a change of scenery. In more ways than one. -I love country music, classic rock, and R&B. Okay, wow…I’m really a boring person! I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s post though. Happy Friday everyone!

  5. Much needed adult night was had tonight. Now i am ready to cuddle up to the cutest three year old I know

  6. VSG is definitely much easier than having a C-section. The only thing that really bothered me was my drain tube, other than that everything was fine.
  7. Unexpected NSV a few moments ago...I was trying to text a friend a funny picture by putting my double chin on display. For the life of me couldn't get the double chin to show! 5 short months ago I could easily show off a triple chin. Hell yes, I am proud!

    Gym

So true on the follow up order following. I will be one compliant little sucka. T&B. I will follow all instructions. If it's okay with you I'll ask that you approve my tin underpinning pics before I show them as "progress" pics. Right now that region of my body looks like the aftermath of a tornado strewn trailer park. Abs built by Budweiser and now look like the day after a child's lawn party birthday bash with deflated inflatable bouncy things laying around. It's more than okay with me, I welcome it! By the way, beer is gross, whiskey is better. Just sayin.

@@Dub Hopefully this will be the last time! You will have to make sure to follow your doctors orders this time though! Can't wait to see your abs of tin in your progress pics

    Gym

My surgeon had me restrict lifting for six weeks post op. During that time I walked daily, several times a day. As soon as my six weeks were up, I joined the gym.

    Need a Scale?

@TheOdysseyOfAStoutMan- I just noticed your ticker as well! That is awesome that you have done so well this far and haven't even had surgery yet. You are set up for success!
  15. Coffee is being had, then it's time for a little road trip to see family I haven't seen since surgery. Should be a fun day:) Hope everyone enjoys their day as well!

  16. I missed the gym more than I care to mention this week. In turn I have avoided the scales too. Not this morning though, I put my big girl panties on and stepped on...101 pounds down! So freaking excited:)

    Tomorrow is the day

@Bmo094-Good luck to you! I remember feeling the exact same way prior to my surgery in January. You may still feel what the hell have I done a few days up to a few weeks after surgery. Hang in there, it will only continue to get better for you!

    Before and After Pics

@@VSGAnn2014 A heartfelt thank you, Ann! I'm mostly a lurker on here, but I've always enjoyed reading your post. You tell it like it is! I still have a long way to go, but I am determined to get there. You're right they are startling, I don't have many full body pictures prior to WLS. When I do come across them though I just look at them in amazement, and disgust. Disgusted that I let myself get to that point, but amazed at how far I have come.

    Before and After Pics

I am still a work in progress, but pretty damn proud of what I have accomplished so far. 97 pounds that are forever gone. The first picture was taken July 2015. The other two were taken over the last two weekends. I am so grateful that I chose this decision for me, myself, and I. It's not just about the weight that has been lost, I have gained so much from this experience. For the first time in a really long time, I feel like the old me- but improved. I am still debating on a goal. I would love to lose at least 40-50 more pounds. I'm just trying to live in the moment and enjoy where I am at now! This is the first time I have uploaded a picture to the thread, if it's too big--like I am afraid it will be...I'm so sorry! ETA: Holy ****, I was right. Hopefully I corrected it lol
  22. People will treat you differently. Some of the people who you think will be supportive, will not be. Vice versa. I am not one of the people who has had surgery that claims I have not changed. I know for a fact that I have, I am proud that I am not the same person I was before surgery. With newfound confidence, people will notice...you will be more approachable than before. I am right at 4 months post op, I have lost a total of 95 pounds so far. My son who is three, has adjusted fine to my change in appearance. He is enjoying his active mom, it feels nice to not be sitting on the sidelines. I have learned to be open with people about the whole surgery process. When people ask, I tell them that I had surgery but I always make sure to tell them that I also joined the gym and I bust my ass there several days a week. I think it helps to be upfront, to me it keeps people from being too many questions. I know being upfront about it is not for everyone though, some people would rather not. I respect that. Change is coming for sure, but in the most absolute greatest way possible. Hang in there and just go with the flow. Good Luck to you!
  23. Noname22

I have a gift for many of you...

I am not the grammar police by any means.....BUT........ Definitely not defiantly.....gets me every damn time.
  24. Noname22

    100 pounds lost!

    Huge congrats to you!
  25. Personally, I have been very open about my decision to have the sleeve. I knew if I wasn't, people were going to talk either way. I just went ahead and took the fun out of their guessing and talking behind my back. I could also care less what people think because I made this decision for me, myself, and I. To each their own though, if you decide to keep it private that is completely your business. If anyone ask why you're not eating as much, just tell them that you have changed your lifestyle and are eating less. Or don't say anything at all, you don't have to tell them anything. Good Luck on your journey!
