  2. Lynn I sent you a friend request sylvia smith bryant.

Hey I have an idea, maybe we all can get together on a Saturday some where centrally-located.

    Sounds great! I added you!
Lynn, how did surgery go? How are you feeling?

Actually I didn't get to have my surgery on the 27 th I went in even got all the way through getting my IV and all my pre surgery meds and into pre-op for 3 hours then the anesthesiologist found some irregularities in a thyroid test that had been taken two months before so they said it wasn't safe to do my surgery not knowing what my thyroid levels were that it was possible I could even crash during surgery so they said they would do a thyroid test and then get the numbers put me on meds for a month retest and then reschedule the surgery I was pretty bummed but it was better then the alternative of dying in surgery however the next day the surgeon called back and by some miracle my thyroid test came back normal so I don't have to wait a month they rescheduled my surgery immediately for this coming Thursday November 5th and in all actuality a Thursday surgery works out better for me as my husband can take less days off work and it is only a difference of a little leas then a week and it proves to me they have my best interest at stake so it all works out bit I will keep you updated!

  3. Hello everyone! My surgery date is November 5th! I had been scheduled for yesterday October 27th but I went in even went through pre-op and everything then the dr found some irregularities with some thyroid tests results in my history from two months before and said it could be very dangerous as the thyroid controls so many things that there was a chance I could even crash in surgery and not recover so we elected to teat it and go on meds and recheck in a month but my test results came back today and they were normal so I am back on the schedule for Nov 5 next Thursday!!! I was disappointed at the time but I am thankful they were looking out for me and it all turned out well! Anyway I just wanted to say hi and good luck to all the other fellow Nov all the fellow Nov sleevers

  4. Just an update my doctor called I am so happy my test results for my thyroid came back normal from my blood draw yesterday so I don't have to go on meds and guess what I'm rescheduled for next week Thursday... In all actuality Thursday works better for us since y husband doesn't have to take off as much work as I have the weekend with him and happy to see they were looking out for me and hey all in all in the grand scheme what's a week!

  5. Yesterday was a challenging day for me. I am coming off medications and do I was in a bit of discomfort. I spoke to the nurse and she told me being I was a revision patient and hernia repair on top of RNY. I just had a day trying to get in fluids, just because I don't feel thirsty or hungry. It really is an effort to drink. It is so surprising. People talk about it but it is just hard to believe until you go through it. I write all my emotions down so I can look back and remember how this was for me and never take it for granted. Today is a new day.

Sorry it was so rough on you I have heard it is more difficult for those that have hernias as well as the rny surgery or any gastric surgery for that matter I hope things get easier. I like your idea to write down your thoughts and feelings as you go so you can see how far you have come! Just remember this bad part is only for a very short time and the benefits are for a lifetime ???? pretty soon you will be enjoying your new body and new life!

  6. Well unfortunately I went in for my surgery even got prepped and everything but they happened to realize a thyroid issue with my blood work and thought the safest route would be to put me on meds for a few weeks and make sure my levels were under control and then reschedule because the thyroid effects so much including apparently blood pressure and he said it could even with y levels cause me to crash in surgery and if they didn't give me the right amounts of something because of course they can't predict that exactly with me not being on thyroid meds they might not be able to bring me back so I am glad he is being safe just a little disappointed I have to wait a bit longer but that's OK won't be too much longer

So glad they caught that. I can imagine the disappointment. But is great that they are planning it safe. I know the anesthesiologist is very interested in labs too. He mulled mine over for awhile. They want to be sure to keep us safe.

Actually yes it was the anesthesiologist that first caught it then she and the surgeon had a long talk and between the two both decided it would be best to wait from both sides so hopefully I can get in today to start on the process I'm just waiting on the call from the dr office that the labs are in then taking them to get seen and get on meds and the hurry up and wait starts!

  9. Thanks actually I got to take a couple sips of Water with my morning meds I limited it two small sips didn't want to over do it and it seemed to clear up my nose too it must have been related because I feel great I think I was just worried because my kids had it but I was very careful to keep germs at bay and Lysol Lysol Lysol lol nothing was keeping me from my new life! I'm on my way to the hospital now still a but of nerves but I think that is to be expected its a big change and there are risks with any surgery but I know I am doing the right thing for the right reasons and this time next year I will be feeling and looking great ???? good luck to my fellow sleevers today

  11. attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1445901041.120369.jpgGot this on Amazon... Really helps with all the pill planning... It makes me feel old, lol, but it does help! :)

I have the same one I like it it's convenient and Vitamins planned for a week and easy to carry. I think mine is medium cases and it's a little tight for the last bed box as I take a chewable Iron n multi there huge attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1445902972.269681.jpg

I'm glad you both found something you like it is very important when you are having to take scripts or supplements on a schedule to be able to set them up and keep them organized I don't know what I would do without mine!

  12. Sorry I haven't been on in awhile last week was very busy I had my all day pre-op with my surgeon and his staff where we went over my procedure and spent several hours with his nurse on what would happen the day of surgery and following surgery then 2 hours with the nutritionist on the progression of my diets from liquids to puree to soft foods to regular foods etc. And if I wasn't nervous enough about my surgery on Tuesday the 27 I found out this past Wednesday that I had in fact broke my elbow and they put me on a hinge cast (which my kids call my bionic arm lol) something I will have on for the next 12 weeks ???? so surgery and recovery are going to be just a little more complicated then anticipated

  13. I was supposed to have my surgery mid November but the office called me Friday and said they had October 27th available since I had completed all of my pre-op requirements so they kinda caught me a little of guard I'm really excited as I have been working toward this for a little over 6 months now (I even lost 49 pounds following the NUT advice) but I am also really nervous ????

  14. Sir, thank you. You have echoed all the feelings I am having. The depression is big. I have been suicidal at times. I just feel like it won't ever end. I am on percosets and fentynal Patches. The third day in the patch is a nightmare as it is the least effective day before I change them. I have dealt with the junkie accusations as well. Both from nurses and pharmacists. I tried not taking pain meds for a bit but I can't function when I do that. It has been exactly as you describe only a shorter time frame. I pray I don't go as long as you have. I don't know that I could make it. Thanks for the info on stent pain. I was worried it was just me. Please keep me posted on your progress.

I am so sorry for what you are going through I just wanted to add although I am still pre-op I am on fentanyl patches for lupus and severe arthritis and a chronic pain issue and due to the way my body works my patches wear out somewhere between day 2-3 so my pain management dr changed my script to change my patches every 48 hours instead of every 3 days I also know other people who have had this done maybe u can mention this issue to your doctor and see if they can adjust when you change your patches so you do not deal with the pain/withdrawals on day 3
