  1. Had my revision from sleeve to bypass Wednesday Home Thursday afternoon. No problems. Abdomen
feels fairly sore at times. I wasn’t crazy about drinking
plain Water . I had bought a pack of those sugar free mix in water drinks and also sugar free popcicles. So far so good. I had Dr Foreman and the Surgery at Crestwood Hospital. They all were fantastic.

  2. Somehow the question took a left turn. I realize that people have different tolerance levels for surgery. I’m an rn x 30 years. I just wanted to get somewhat of an idea. After I had gotten the sleeve I felt like I was hit by a truck and that feeling lasted for 24 hours. After that it got better rapidly. I was trying to get a feeling if the bypass recovery is similar.

  3. Seriously thinking of canceling rny . My surgeons office said that I could get complication insurance when I first was quoted fees. I got a call friday saying that they made a mistake and said revisions were not eligible. If any major complications that occur will be out of my pocket. This could ruin me financially.

  4. I was just informed that my revision from sleeve to bypass will not be covered by bliss complication insurance. I just called my regular insurance. They said if I was discharged and something happens that is billed due to the surgery which they did not approve they won’t cover. Any thoughts? Anyone have the same issue? Anyone have a complication that wasn’t covered by insurance?

  5. I’m getting a revision from sleeve to bypass next month. I’m a self pay. I went for pre op at Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville. I wanted to get the final price for my Hospital stay before I made a certified check to the hospital. At first they quoted me 6000.00 when I called they said they made a mistake and that was for a bypass the correct price was 8000.00. I said ok. When i was at pre op I asked the registration person about it . I told her i was gettin a conversion to bypass. She called her supervisor and she said it was 8 grand. She wrote this down and put the supervisor name on a paper and gave this to me. I was at work and i got a call saying no that was incorrect it was 10,500. I was upset. The lowered the price down to 9500.00 after they saw I was so upset. Would you take that lower figure or try to go for anything lower. Actually the person on the phone said we don’t quote prices . When in fact the supervisor that the registration person called that gave the 8grand figure was the person that is trying to tell me now that it’s really 10,500.00

  6. Has anyone done this alone? I’m getting a gastric bypass and winging this alone. I have a friend to drive me to the hospital and pick me up. My family lives in another state. How did you handle this?

  7. I’m having the gastric bypass next month. I told my co workers what I’d be doing. Big mistake. One is trying to talk me out of it the others just want to know how much time I’ll get off. Not one shred of encouragement. I’m a nurse. I did have the sleeve 5 years ago. I was employed at a different hospital. They knew and the encouragement was good so I mistakenly thought this would be the same. How can I politely tell them to take a hike?
