    Surgery Tomorrow!

KD, I hope the gas has passed!
  2. My insurance approval took 3 days. I'm now scheduled for July 15, the earliest appointment.
  3. I'm July 15th RNY! Just scheduled it this afternoon.
  4. I agree with @@Djmohr . Now that I've decided to do it, I just want the wait to be over. I'm hopeful I won't have to wait too long, already having my second meeting with the psych in two weeks and also first visit with the dietitian that day. I'm already tracking all my food and trying to up my exercise, so hopefully I can get the green light straight away.
  5. I have heard that gyno's don't necessarily like to put IUD's in women who are younger/no kids, but I think that has changed mostly. There should be no reason not to give you one if you're not planning on TTC in the near future. I just read: "The main contraindication for use is recent pelvic infection and there are no specific considerations for use following bariatric surgery". It actually sounds like an IUD is the recommended method because of the rapid weight loss, hormonal types aren't as effective.
  6. If you're not certain about kids - or at least not for a couple years, what about an IUD?
  7. @@Sjane have they run any blood work for your hormone levels? have you tried going off hormonal birth control, for good or at least until your cycle begins to function normally? I'm guessing it is your body adjusting to your weight loss, and switching different types of hormonal methods will also mess with it. Good luck! I went off bc pills last July and I told the bariatrician today that I wouldn't be going back on hormonal birth control - I want nothing messing me up for when I'm ready to get pregnant.
  8. I also have PCOS - but I just started the steps to get my WLS. I had my appointment with the bariatric doctor today and she was formerly an endocrinologist who worked a lot with PCOS. She said that essentially from surgery day my fertility would be through the roof. Also, I just wanted to make sure you don't take Clomid from your OB. You should be monitored while taking it, by a Reproductive Endocrinologist, otherwise it could severely affect your fertility. You can't do more than 4-6 courses of Clomid in a lifetime. Good luck! I'm also counting the day to surgery and then the year after so we can start our own family.
