  1. I was sleeved on May 12th, I am down 94lbs as of today. I do go to the gym 5 days a week, it does help make me feel better, I want to tone some of my muscles. My weight has slowed as well, which is a good thing, I was getting a little nervous about that, however I am still losing. My goal is to be 100lbs by New Years as well. Good Luck to you both.

@@LosingSomeLisa you are doing awesome as well. I am losing now around 6-7 pounds a month. I have a personal goal of -100 by new years. I am doing the holiday challenge. I haven't made the goal I set for the last two challenges. I am hoping third time is the charm. I am due to see doctor in January and would love to be in the 170s.

  2. I was experiencing fatigue as well, my doctor said I will get more energy as time passes. I am 4 weeks out and I do see a difference, I however pushed my self to start going to the gym 3 days a week, hoping to pick it up with another day next week. I got a burst of energy yesterday after work which felt great. Hoping I get more days like that. I also walk at lunch some days which I also thinks helps. Good Luck.

Is anyone experiencing fatigue? I dont have any energy. I know Im not reaching my Protein goals but I can barely stomach the Protein Shakes anymore. I get dressed go to work them pretty much come home and rest the rest of the night. The doc says I should be starting to exercise but I don't have the strength. Hope this is temporary.

  3. I had a lot of shoulder pain while in the hospital ,it got better, i did a lot of walking and also took liquid tylenol. Feel better.

Ugh does this ever get better!! I hurt! Pain meds hurt my sleeve. I can only take a teaspoon sip at a time. Is that normal? Bad gas pain in my shoulder. I think the hernia repair is more uncomfortable than my sleeve

  4. I find adding crystal light works best too but only 1/2 packet, things are so much sweeter now. I guess we will all find out what works for us and what doesn't. One week tomorrow, start my Protein shakes for a week, then on to pureed foods. Glad you are doing great! I'm trying not to weigh my my self until my 2 week check up.

Hello May Sleevers! I was sleeved on May 19th, I also did away with pain meds except Tylenol which helped just fine for the first day or so, walking helps relieve the gas pains. I also find it hard to get the full 64 oz of Water but getting more in each day. Yesterday i got in 60 oz, I was so proud of myself. I find that hots go down easier, and mornings are the roughest but once you start drinking it gets better. The night I was released my pressure got really high, but they took me off my blood pressure medicine, so I called my doctor and he said your body just has to adjust and put me back on them for now and I am doing great. I do recommend rolling down your underwear or getting hip undies for mine were laying in my creases where my incisions are and that did cause some discomfort yesterday, at first I thought I did something in my sleep, but now I roll down my pants below the belly button and o boy what a difference. My follow up is on June 5th, trying not to weigh myself until then! I get to start full liquids tomorrow, so excited.

I feel you with the liquids...I am using a 24 oz. bottle and am lucky to get in 2 fills a day...I do get some other stuff that is considered liquid...but it does seem to get easier. Can't gulp but can take close to the same as before surgery....just a teeny bits of pain (well, more like a pressure) if I do it too fast too often. I also found that I can get more in if i add flavors...like Crystal Light, etc. (anything without Aspartame, makes me sick)

I was done on the 13th...been trying out new stuff all the time...getting sick of sweet stuff :) Cheezits go down really well for me and saltines now....can handle tuna or salmon if I chew really well and it's moist.

Last night I had my worst experience since the Constipation issue...ok, CANNOT do grits...the first time I tried they did fairly well but gave me some heartburn...last night, it got worse and I ended up throwing up everything...I hate vomiting, ugh!! Ok, no grits for me for a very LONG time :) Amazingly when I have been out and can't get anything soft...french fries are really tasty if chewed really well, like mashed potatoes :) I even took a tiny bite of my bf's hamburger patty and it did great, so I may try getting in a bit of ground beef or ground turkey next week...thinking maybe meatballs might work better than anything.....I am still having trouble getting all my Protein but am working on it...will be adding some Prostat soon (it's basically pure protein in honey like form..2 tblsp = 17 grams - My Mom used to take it for wound care)

I think I am done rambling for now :) Thanks all! Take care! V

  6. I felt the same way at first, I told my husband and adult children, then in the last week I started to tell a few others. I know the word will probably get out but I am ok with that. At first I thought I don't need anyone being negative, I just want positive thoughts. So if anyone is negative I just cut them off and said positive thoughts only please and so far its been good. Good luck Lisa!

  7. Before you know it you will be doing your liquid diet and your surgery will be over and done with and you will be on your way to a new and healthier you! Congrats to you for quitting smoking as well, that must be so hard, but you did it and look at all you accomplished, you got this.......

I completed all my requirements the end of March, met my surgeon April 9 and told my surgery date would be May 28. I was so bummed, 7 weeks of waiting. I have been going crazy. I honestly think I could write a book with all the research I have done in the last 6 months and now I was being told I needed to wait almost 2 more months. I thought I was going to lose my mind. Every day has been a battle of making sure I have been doing everything and to be told I have 7 more weeks of walking on egg shells. Luckily for me I did not have to lose any pre surgery weight, but it is just as hard maintaining my weight, especially knowing that I cannot gain any weight. Four months ago I went up two pounds and was reminded of the program's no weight gain policy, it didn't matter that I was just 3months smoke free, where many individuals that quit smoking gain 20 plus pounds within the first 6 months.
With this extra time I have been trying to keep busy, I have all my Vitamins, Protein powder, stuff for the hospital... Now if I could only make the weeks fly by. I teach middle school and course this is Spring vacation so I have a week off and the forecast is rain all week so I cannot even go outside and enjoy a good walk. I know I need to not be so impatient, up it is so hard, I have never wanted anything as much as I want this. Sometimes I wonder if I have my hopes for this too high and once it happens it will be a big let down.

  8. Good Luck and stay positive.

Congrats to all the May Sleevers who have dates!! I am still tentative for May 6th but have run into a few hurdles :(. Completed EGD which revealed a previously unknown hiatal hernia which can be fixed during the sleeve surgery. The hurdles include a few issues that occurred during EGD which led to confirmation of sleep apnea and cardiac abnormalities. Waiting to hear outcome of attempts to get insurance to assist with CPAP machine ( covered the sleep study myself and also doing self pay for sleeve so am hoping they will assist with CPAP). Have appointment with cardiologist this week, no history of heart problems but evidentially there were some issues with the sedation during EGD. I am trying to stay positive and have started my 3 week preop diet a few days early:). Thanks for letting me vent:)
