Hello all! I was just diagnosed with adhd and they put me on strattera. I've been on it for 2 days and haven't noticed anything yet, which is normal I guess. Just wondering if it is working for you, and how long it took to kick in. Thanks:redface:

This is what I've had to start doing. You are definitely mourning the lose and maybe holding on to something too. Do you have a therapist in your area that you could run some of this by? I currently go to a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. Hang in there!!!

Okay, I need some positive talk here. Why is so hard to put myself first. My health, my well being , is all being challenged by those around me. Sometimes I don't feel strong enough to put myself and my health first. Sometimes it's my own mind that won't let me be first. Help!!!!

That's awesome teacherica!!! Okay, here is my new plan. I am definitely not going to be able to do a half marathon in 15 weeks. I've been doing that training program and feel like a may loose one of my legs.:sneaky: My new plan is a 10k on april 11. This is much more doable!!!! I really want to keep both of my legs.:confused:

Right now your insides are swollen from surgery so some people won't feel hunger for awhile. It will slowly come back. I think it stills feels the same as before surgery, you will just be making better food choices, and not eating as much. Hope this helps.:confused:

Okay guys this is my plan. My race is April 26, so that is 14 weeks away. I made up the first 2 weeks of this plan to get me running again before I do the 12 week training program on www.runnersworld.com. The reason I liked the half marathon challenge training was because one of the ladies training weighed 172lbs. Big girls can run too! ( and so can big guys!)
Here is what I'm doing the first two weeks........
week one:
Jan 21- run 10 2 minute intervals with 3 minute walk in between. Remember that it doesn't have to be fast!
Jan 22- same
Jan23- run 10 3 minute intervals with 3 minute walk in between.
Jan 24- same
Jan 25- day off!!
Week two:
Jan 26- run 10>4min walk 3 min in between
Jan 27- run same
Jan 30- run 10>5min walk 3min in between
Jan 28- run same
Jan 29- run same
Jan 30- day off!!!
After 2nd week I start the runners world half marathon training schedule. I will also start weight training at this time. (body for life)
We should all use eachother for support during this time! We can do it!!!

Hello all! Are you up for a challenge? Lets do it! Lets train for a half marathon. Let me give you a little background........when I weighed 260 (which was before the band, I have since gained 30 lbs and then got the band) I finished an olympic distance triatholon. I know that if I could do that at 260 then I can definitely finish a half marathon. Anyone interested?!
I think the one I'm going to do is in OK. city in April. I live in Kansas but the first one here isn't until October and I want to do one before that. Check your area and see when there is one for you. This will be great for weightloss and for keeping us in line with our goals!! Remember that you can also walk, run these events. Any takers??!!!:Dancing_wub::wink2:

It's safe to say that I am addicted to food. My doctor put me on liquids for 10 days because my espohagus is dilated. I'm realizing that when I can't eat I'm depressed. Obviously I'm having a depression problem if food is something that brings me that much happiness. I have hobbies and other things to keep me busy (twin boys) but it makes my days so boring when I can't eat. I am an addict! :laugh:

You should have your doctor do a barium swallow. You probably just need a fill, but I have a dilated esophagus so I know the since of panic you feel. I was overeating and drinking soda. The carbonation in the soda can cause your pouch or esophagus to get bigger. My doctor said that if you feel the need to drink soda to let it sit until the carbonation is gone. Hopefully it's just that you need a fill, but I would definitely have it checked out.
