I have been in a stall for 2 weeks. Its been frustrating, but today i weighed and measured again. Ive lost 0.3kg BUT i also lose 4cms off my waist. The waist measurement made me feel like this is really changing even if the weight isnt

You are likely to end up with excess skin no matter how you lose the weight. As for regretting it well you may, but you dont really know. From what ive read though not many regret it

So im dealing with the dreaded three week stall. It is VERY annoying and although i know it will pass it is still a little frustrating.
How long did your three week stall last????

Im 3 weeks out and eating between 400 and 500 calories a day. I drink between 1.5 and 2L a day. I was told to eat a max of a 1/4 cup of food per meal, not a calorie limit

I was told by my surgeon a sudden increase in pain can be an indicator of a leak and to call him immediately. Given you have had no significant pain until today id call the surgeon to discuss this

Im not sure what the surgeon means by a sleeve being reversible? ?? They literally pull out a section of your stomach and throw it away
Im wondering if you have the two procedures the wrong way round as i believe the MGB to be reversible and the sleeve to only be able to be modified to a bypass or similar

I have noticed this too. My surgeon emphasises a balanced diet from the beginning with equal amounts of Protein, veg and complex carbs

I did a 5 week pre op diet. The first few days were hard, low energy, headaches but after a few days it was fine

Mostly I'm eating scrambled egg, tuna or laughing cow cheese. I have had some chilli that was pureed which wasn't bad. I also had summer porridge ( quick oats with greek yogurt and a little milk out in the fridge overnight.
As for portions well I can barely get down 1/2 a scrambled egg

I don't know what Melba toast is exactly but a lot of crackers are bite and disolve, meaning they turn into mush in the mouth or shortly after so aren't a risk to the stomach. I suspect that's why they are fine

Im not sure when it feels normal but my right side continues to feel tender and ouchy where the muscles were cut through. My surgery was on the 6th

It would need to be deemed medically necessary to meet 5hr medicare criteria for cover, which most private insurance uses to approve or deny surgery (as long as your policy covers it). It usually means a significant documented history of skin infections, sores etc

I responded to the OP in the fashion they wrote the original post.
Your response was so rude and almost childish. If you prefer to listen to him, then why join the forum?
Of course a single shake and that little Water is not enough, but to assume that everyone has benn told they must get 80g of protein a day etc is ridiculous. My surgeon focuses on good nutrition from day one, that includes all food groups and not a focus simply on one macro.I hope every surgeon has the goal of making sure you heal and don't have any complications post-op.
A balanced diet is a great goal down the road, but right after surgery protein and fluids are critical --- even if it is hard, or you don't have an appetite, or don't like the taste, etc.
One 11 oz protein shake spread out over three days and less than 8 oz of Fluid a day is not enough for anyone post-op. I can't imagine any surgeon advocating that diet as a good strategy for anyone.

My surgeon is highly skilled and respected where i live and id prefer to listen to him than those on forums in regards to my best interests post op
While you should heed what he says, his body hasn't been through what yours has. Also noone stated that what they said was law, just gave tips on how to approach getting in liquids and protein.

While i agree most surgeons have not been through surgery it us just as damaging to say you should be getting x amount of protein per day. This amount is very dependent on the individual and there are risks to having too much protein in your diet

It was insulting and suggested i have no idea , nor does my surgeon about my health and healing because he does not want me focusing on high Protein but instead on all nutrients

Discussion is one thing. The OP basically berrated anyone who dared to not get the Protein that HER team recommends. Thats not discussionMy surgeon is highly skilled and respected where i live and id prefer to listen to him than those on forums in regards to my best interests post op
of course you are! but this is an internet forum we are participating in, so it is only natural that we would discuss these things? At the end of the day I am going to listen to my team (I am paying them for their advice after all!) discuss with my peer group (my LOVELY friends here #1) and then sort out what is going to be best for me.
there was more than one person on here on many threads advocating what I think are really dangerous practices - so, here we are discussing. it's good!

I am post op 8 days. I had a FIVE WEEK pre op diet. It sucked. I got bouts of low blood sugar, almost fainting at work and feeling shit. I didnt cheat once and my liver was still large. Im lucky my surgeon went ahead. Please dont put yourself in more danger by ignoring their requirements

Hiya i was sleeved a few days before you. Ive been in a stall too, frustrating isnt it? Take a deep breath though, you just need to follow your surgeons plan. I am allowed a 1/4 cup at max per meal. So i always stop then even if i dont feel full, cos i dont wanna hurt whats healing.
I am also measuring my waist line. I noticed today that while ive only lost 0.3kg i have lost 4 cms off my waist!!! This was a great motivator cos i know changes are happening to me
