    Exercise Woes...Anybody with me?

Before I exercised and ran, I remember people talking about how they loved it and could not wait to exercise, blah, blah, blah. I was like "what the hell are they people talking about" and now I am one of "those" people. Exercise truly does grow on you. About three years ago I started running (aka fast walking or jogging) and I remember the little milestones. I started with jogging to an entire song, which seemed like an eternity, then up to five minutes, then two songs, then a mile, etc. Let me share with you that I am a numbers person, so I always end up doing more than I set out to do because I like nice round numbers. If for example I set out to run two miles and when I hit two miles I am at 240 calories, I will have to keep going until I hit 250 calories....weird I know, but that's just me. So, basically hang in there, keep walking on the treadmill, you are doing great things and you will see great results soon!
  2. If you are responding to me, I appreciate your knowledge, but that was not the case for me. I know how much I can eat and my pouch was not over stuffed after 2-3 bites and I also know how to chew.
  3. @@Klaselayd, it is very common to not be able to tolerate meat at this point. I am eight months post op and still cannot eat some meats. The four times I have dumped have been on meat (fish, ham, roast and hamburger). Some people say it was not dumping because it was not sugar related, but I started to salivate, then had to use the bathroom, then vomited....same thing, same order, all four times. So, for the longest time I avoided meats and just recently tried pork and turkey/ham lunch meat and have done okay with those two. I could eat turkey burger but not hamburger, you just have to experiment. People told me to continue trying meat every couple weeks. It was easier said than done, knowing it would make me vomit, so I just didn't eat meat for a couple month. There are plenty of other ways to get your daily allowance of Protein. It seems that at the six month mark, things change. I don't know how, but that has been my experience. Good luck and be patient!

    My sleeve journey

Great post! I know it is hard for people to believe and trust that it truly does get better every day! I never really had any regrets, just remember feeling so run down. Listening to your body is so very important and I still have to remind myself of that today at eight months post op. If I listen, I know when I cannot take that one last bite and have to throw it away or I will be throwing it up!

    Thigh Lift: Worth It?

I am just following. Am looking to have a inner thigh lift (hoping they can just pull the outside in, haven't had any consultations yet) and TT at the end of this year.

    Gross Bathroom Question

I got in a little rut (not recommended) where I didn't take my Vitamins for a couple months. Once I started taking them again, I discovered that I also needed to incorporate a stool softener everyday. What's one more pill, right? :-)
  8. @@bdcsail, how do they determine if a TT can be drainless? That is my biggest fear, those stupid drains. I have seen some people with one and other with four!

So is sip, sip, sip forever?

I can gulp but I cannot chug. I am also a straw drinker, so don't run into this problem much.

    Eating Eggs

The first time I tried eggs was around 6 weeks and it did not go well. I had a half of a scrambled egg and vomited. I did not try them again for another two months and was perfectly fine, now I eat them a couple times per week.
  11. I was unable to eat any type of sugar for the first 4-6 months, next week I will be 8 months post op and I can eat pretty much anything in small portions. Well, let's just say I can eat a sugar cookie with frosting without any trouble. Of course I don't do it on a regular basis, but learned at Christmas that I could if I wanted to.

    Day 1 (surgery 2/17/16)

Good luck to both of you. Drink, drink, drink and remember IT DOES get easier every day, even though it may not seem like it in the beginning!
  14. Great job, you have come so far! I am in the same boat, just 4 pounds from my goal and I have been messing around with that 4 pounds since Thanksgiving. I am completely happy with where I am at, but I am also super competitive and when I set a goal, I will meet it if it kills me :-)

    300 calories daily?

@@mizzmegan, you are doing great for 20 days post-op. If I recall my "goal" was to be at 50 grams by one month post-op and I struggled with that. As long as you are truly doing the best you can, that is all you can do. Just be sure you are drinking something ALL THE TIME! Because you are not at your Protein goal yet, I would make sure you are always drinking something with protein versus plain Water at this point. It's a little overwhelming, but will get better!

    2 oz cup

Medicine cups work great, you will actually probably get one with the Tylenol you ordered. Good luck on your surgery!

When in is it safe to have a drink?

I am almost eight months post-op and I just had my first adult beverage last weekend. I was scared to death that I would be "that person" who passed out after having one drink. Happy to report that I was not "that person", as a matter of fact, it really had no effect on me at all. As everyone has already said, each person is different and each surgeon is different. I was advised not to drink alcohol for six months, but did not have to sign a contract or anything. Best of luck to you.
  18. @@Djmohr, you look fantastic! Sweater dresses and boots are my new favorite "go to", I wish I could wear one everyday!
  19. @@Queen of Crop, I am interested to see how your procedure goes and see the amazing results. I had a brachioplasty and breast augmentation/lift in December and am going to have a tummy tuck and inner thighs in December 2016 (have to wait this long for insurance to cover the TT). Like you, I do not have much hanging skin, just flabby and lumpy :-) Best of luck to you.

    Do You Log Your Food?

This is a great topic because I recently started tracking again. I am almost eight months post op and decided around month 4-5 that I was going to quit tracking because I ate the same thing every single day. I am just four pounds from my goal and I cannot get that four pounds off for the life of me, so decided to start tracking, using MyFitnessPal. The program is easy to use, has a great database of foods you can search and once you enter something into a meal, it's in your drop down list forever, so you don't have to search for it again. Like Alex said, if you track, you are less likely to put something that should not go in your mouth, in your mouth - I have experienced that several times over the past two weeks! Keep tracking!!

    Eating popcorn

I have been eating popcorn since about three months. When we go to the theater, I take my own cup and take a cup full out before my husband and/or kids put butter and seasonings on it. I have not had any trouble at all.
