TT & BL on November 21!

Congratulations! This is an exciting time for you! I am scheduled for a TT and inner thigh lift on December 29th. My preop in December 3rd, so I am beginning to formulate my list of questions and collecting pictures of results that I do and do not want! Best of luck to you!

    Compression Garment

Yes, I am having a tummy tuck and thigh lift on the same day and am beyond NERVOUS! They are also repairing a hernia, while in there. I am planning to take three weeks off work and just found out last week that my husband may have to leave for Saudia Arabia on Jan 1st and my procedures are scheduled for Dec 29th. To say I have been stressed this week would be an understatement!!

    Compression Garment

Thank you - I do plan to check with him, but my pre-op appointment is not until December 3rd. I am an OCD planner!! I did end up returning the one I purchased and decided to wait to see if they would provide one. If not, I would still have three weeks of order one. Based on everything I have read, I will be wearing it night and day. When I had my brachioplasty last year, I only wore ace wraps for a week and I think my scarring results could have been better had I known.

    time for the last touch

Is that your original belly button or did they reconstruct it?
  5. I would say between weeks six and eight, I had regained full energy. It is imperative that you are getting in all of the required Protein right now, as your body is healing....good luck!
  6. @@Djmohr, do you diffuse all of these oils? How many hours do you have to be exposed for them to work? Just thinking about those who work 8-10 hours per day, is the 4 hours that you are home in the evening enough to make it work? I have been thinking and hearing about this for some time and your post was so encouraging.

    Stupid question?

I believe that rule only applies to solids. I drink a shake on my way to work and continue drinking unsweetened tea immediately and have not had any trouble.

When to start the Plastic's process?

As others have mentioned, it's never too early for consultations and I would recommend scheduling several of them! I had bariatric surgery in June 2015 and had my first plastics in December 2015. I was physically and mentally ready, near goal weight, but I feel that because of timing (I was off work for the holiday), I rushed in to it and did not do enough research on the surgeon himself. I had brachioplasty (arms) and breast augmentation/lift and it was around $12,000 out of pocket. I have my second surgery scheduled for this December and I am going to be having a tummy tuck and inner thigh lift. The tummy tuck will be covered with the exception of navel reconstruction because apparently that is not medically necessary....lol, so the tummy tuck will cost me $2,200 and the inner thigh lift will be $7,500. Best of luck to you and based on the amount of excess skin, you may be lucky enough to get more covered by your insurance.

    Thrush?

Yes, I actually got thrush with both of my surgeries. It is primarily caused by the antibiotics they give you before and after surgery and will not go away without medication. The first time I got it, I was prescribed a medication that you swish, swirl and swallow, which worked great. The second time, I went to a different doctor and he prescribed me a pill that you let dissolve on your tongue and cannot drink for two hours after (which is not very convenient for bariatric patients) and that did not work as well, in my opinion. Good luck!
  10. @@amazon, looking forward to more before and afters! I am scheduled to have a TT and thigh lift in December. I am completely torn on which version of the thigh lift to get, but I am leaning toward the full (to knee) incision because I don't want to be disappointed in the results after going through it all. What would you recommend for supplies, what type/brand of binders/garments, a walker?, did you have or rent a lift recliner? Thanks for sharing and happy healing!

    Make my self throw up?

I hate to admit it, but I do also. I just did last night and all that kept going through my head is what if I become anorexic, which I know is extreme and I never would but I could not help but think it. I am a year and two months post op and have probably thrown up a dozen times since surgery. The first 6-8 times, I would just wait it out and be miserable for an hour, then once I learned the signs, I started sticking my finger down my throat to avoid being miserable for an hour. I figure I might as well get it over with because it's going to happen anyway. Last night I had a late dinner (around 8:30pm) and then out of habit got a cup of popcorn less than a half hour later (because that is what I eat most nights after my shower). After about three bites, it dawned on me that I just ate dinner less than a half hour ago....at that point my belly was very uncomfortable, so made myself throw it up.

    Protein - whats your favorite?

Hi there - I am over a year post op and tried a half million types and flavors of Protein before I found GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - chocolateIt's from GNC and the nice thing about GNC is their return policy! If you open a product, try it and don't like it, you can return it for a full refund! It's around $30 per bag, but they often times have BOGO half off and you can combine that sale with their $10.00 coupon. Good luck!

    Hair loss

Yes, don't panic. This is completely normal and there is nothing that will stop it. Getting sufficient Protein (which is almost impossible at that stage) will slow it, but not stop it. Taking Biotin and using medicated shampoo (I used Nioxin) will promote new growth, which is very helpful, however will not stop it from falling out. I recall being at that stage and the shower drain being full EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! I did not understand how I would ever have any hair left in the end, but I did :-) It was much thinner to me, by looks and touch, but everyone I asked could not tell. Hang in there, this too shall pass!
  14. @@Djmohr, how did the surgery go and how are you feeling? I had my first surgery at nine months post op (within 10 pounds of my goal) and will have me second surgery in December. First I had brachioplasty and breast lift/augmentation and neither were covered by my insurance. In December I will have a TT and inner thigh lift. The TT will be covered with the exception of a new belly button....makes no sense, but I guess it's not medically necessary to have a belly button...lol, so I will pay $2,000 for that.
  15. Did those things really even sound or look good to you while you were preparing them? I remember, in the beginning food was not my friend....nothing looked good, nothing smelled good and nothing tasted good!
  16. I weigh myself daily. I am one year post op and at goal, but like to be in control of my weight and this allows me to make adjustments accordingly. If I gain more than one pound, I adjust my diet that day or exercise twice instead of once, etc.

    WEAK AND TIRED

As other posters have said, clear liquids does not mean no Protein, you must have protein NO MATTER WHAT! I used the unjury chicken broth and there are many unflavored protein powders you can get, as well as a Water called Isopure, which I didn't care for, but at this point you must get protein in your body, so you're going to have to do whatever it takes even if it does not taste good.
  18. I was given a choice of vanilla or chocolate carnation before being discharged from the hospital, so I started on carnation chocolate when I got home, then transitioned to other brands of protein until I found one I liked, but none were ever clear.
  19. For those of you that have had a thigh lift, how did you decide if you were going to have the groin incision or the half leg incision? Obviously no one wants a scar from their groin to their knee if they can avoid it, but I just don't want to be disappointed in the decision I make, after spending all that money. My legs no longer rub together, so that makes me lean toward the groin incision, but I just want to know how much they will still move around after that procedure. I am constantly pulling up my leg skin up, to try and determine exactly how tight they can get it with just the groin incision.
  20. It never stops. I am almost one year post op, at goal and still think about food non-stop. What I have ate so far, what else I still "need" to eat and what I "want" to eat!
  21. I had brachioplasty and breast augmentation/lift in December 2015 and I am ecstatic to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses this summer for the first time since I was a teenager! I paid cash for both and it was worth every single penny. In December 2016 I will be having a thigh lift and tummy tuck; the tummy tuck will be paid for by my insurance, but I will have to pay for the thigh lift out of pocket. The scars on my arms are visable, however it's only been five months and they are still fading, but even if they did not fade a bit from today, it's soooo much better than having the bat wings!!
  22. This is probably not what you want to hear but you just have to keep trying them until you find one you like. I went through at least six different brands before I settled on one from GNC. I am just about one year post-op and cannot physically eat enough food to get the Protein intake I need, so still drink a shake every morning. Good luck!!
  23. Congratulations on the weight loss achievement and I love your new ink!
