I had a few different kinds of lettuce in my salad, plus chicken, and it just HURT. I was brave and went to Subway yesterday for a flatbread sandwich and had just spinach and green pepper for the veggies and had not one issue with it. Maybe I tried the salad too soon??? NUT said it was OK to have so I thought I'd be OK :-(

Did anyone have severe pain in their pouch after having lettuce? I tried it twice and I thought my pouch was going to turn itself inside out. I didn't feel sick or anything and didn't have any "bathroom issues"....just lots of pain for about an hour after I ate the salad.< /p>

I'm 33 pounds down as of today and can start on soft foods! YES!!!

Saw my NUT today and she said I can have raw veggies in 2 weeks...YES!!!! I start regular soft foods today...this was the best day ever!!!! And I'm down 33 pounds :-)

I hope that doesn't happen to me Jamie...I prefer the crunch of raw veggies over mushy cooked ones. I think that's part of the reason I'm craving a salad...I want some CRUNCH.

I LOVE kale salads! At this point any salad will do. My husband has been obsessed with finding just the right kind of dressing for me, nutritionally speaking. I love French dressing but I know it won't be the best option.

I was afraid it was going to be awhile. I'm just craving an Olive Garden salad soooo bad right now. It's ridiculous! Of all things to crave....

I'm a month out and all I want is a salad. I see my NUT on Thursday but I'm so obsessed with this I can't wait until then to ask.....at what point can we start having raw veggies????

I'm on puree for another week. Hopefully that's it because if I don't get to chew something pretty soon I'm going to lose it!!!!

Try taking some Benadryl for the nausea before getting an Rx for something. It's not widely used as an anti nausea medication but it does work for me!
-
That's awesome! Best wishes for a super speedy recovery!Yay I'm now post op! Pain and nausea were at a 8/9 out of ten when I woke up took quite a few hours to get under control but feeling much better now nausea gone thanks to a patch they put on and pain maybe 2/3 out of ten.
Able to sip Water with some discomfort, didn't get any sleep with all the check ups but managed to half doze. I'm in for one more night then home tomorrow morning. I can't believe this is real! All the best to you all on your journeys and speedy recovery!

I would die. I've been struggling with the restricted diet I've been on. I don't think I could make it on yours! Keep up the great work. The 9th will be here before you know it!Hi - In Canada we are required to be on Meal Replacements (like Boost) 5-6 per day and Water for 1 month prior to surgery. That's it! I'm going into my 2nd week and it is tough. Surgery is Sept. 8th. Trying to stay positive...
-
I'm sure you're doing everything right. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I started a restricted diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. The day before surgery is liquid only. A day on the restricted diet looks something like this: Breakfast - Carnation Instant Breakfast shake, no sugar added, medium piece of fruit; AM snack - 1/4 cup 1% milk, 1/2 cup veggies; lunch - 1/4 cottage cheese, 1/4 cup veggies; PM snack - medium size piece of fruit; dinner - Another Carnation shake, 1/4 cup veggies; Bedtime snack - Plain Greek yogurt. There are a few variations I can work with, but this is pretty much it.

You guys are so lucky! I don't find out my check in time until tomorrow afternoon. The anticipation is killing me!

I've got 2 days to go. Can't wait!!!!

Great advice Sleevy. I was thinking about starting liquid tomorrow instead of Wednesday. Or maybe do liquid for the second half of tomorrow. Good luck transitioning to mush!

I'm having surgery on the 20th as well. I'm so excited and starting to get a little scared. I'm sooooo sick of this pre surgery diet though. I'm actually looking forward to the liquids only on Wednesday because I'm getting sick of all the veggies!
No protein & no vitamins, is it a problem?

Drink Propel. No calories, no carbs, and the grape flavor is yummy! Much better for you than Vitamin Water.< /p>
