What's with this new thing, a six-month, pre-surgery "class?" Is it going nation-wide? Who requires and conducts it -- the practice? the insurer? Is it out of pocket for the prospective patient, never to be reimbursed? If so, what's the price tag? Whose big, fat chipmunk cheeks is it filling? From what I've gleaned, the class has merits, but the whiff of greed is sulfurous. Or am I way off?

When an unexpected event arises, consider first the obvious before you make yourself and everyone else cuckoo. Be like the electrician who gets a frantic call and asks, "Is it plugged in?" Often enough it isn't and how lovely that the solution is so simple.

When I see that people visit my profile page, I feel bad. They're looking for clues to something-or-other, but I'm always slow to furnish my corner of a website. Anyone who's curious can ask. If a question is inappropriate, I may nip, but I won't bite. Not too hard.

When I was a child, all of us little girls wanted to be just like Debbie Reynolds, Audrey Hepburn and Leslie Caron. The first two are gone along with the sweetness of the wishes.

When one who arguably is the worst candidate ever for WLS comes along, does one respond gently yet clearly or does one run as fast and as far as one's little legs will take her?

@High functioning fat man -- not exactly "help," but the usual "opinions" and, even better, something akin to "I don't understand myself, so YOU explain me to me and tell me what to do."
@ShelterDog64 -- I wasn't quite up on just how wicked you are. I'm in love.

When people sniffle over plateaus and stalls, I tell them to hang in and eat properly and give guarantees that everything will catch up again. Now that I've hit my first plateau ever -- this wasn't ever supposed to happen -- I'm sure something's wrong with me. Someone tell me the words. I need to hear the words.

Where do the blasted fruit flies come from? When I choose my items at the store or farmers' market, I don't see any. Even if they're there (outdoors?), wouldn't they be shooed away when I'm handling the fruits and putting them into bags? How do they get into my kitchen? A day or two after I've placed the tomatoes, sweet peppers, bananas and whatall-else on the counter or table, one or two fruit flies materialize from nowhere. I really hope someone knows how this happens and how to stop it.

@ShelterDog64 - While I sometimes see one around the sink, it didn't occur to me that they live in the drain. I wondered why the sink. I also wonder why I never see more than one there or around the fruit. Maybe there's a law on their home planet.

@ShelterDog64 -- As long as they stay out of my brain gunk. What was the TV series last year? I didn't get the premise, but the gummint was somehow sneaking some sort of bug life into people's brains to turn them into mindless followers or replacements similar to "Invasion of the Body Snatcher?" At least, the series was something like that.

Where's yesterday's topic by someone who seems to have intertrigo? Want to add a tangential, valuable note, but can't find it.

Is it this one about how to care for the raw areas under the belly flap?

While pondering a decision unrelated to BP's purpose, you all came to mind. I became aware that I value you for being non-judgmental about a topic that so many do judge elsewhere.

Why does the tiny bit of eggshell wait to hop into my mouth with the last bite of omelet, thereby ruining the whole thing? If it must lurk in the egg mixture, why won't it have the courtesy to get it over with a the start?

@High functioning fat man, it doesn't happen often, but when it does, the piece is microscopic. I remember your little cutie from photos you posted. Does he do freelance shell-removal?

@High functioning fat man, Im not sure who's funnier, you or your son.

Yesterday, after however long of gritching and asking, I discovered by chance how to paste while typing up a new post. "Chance" isn't quite accurate. It was more like an Isaac Newton moment. Damn, I'm good, but with all the times I'd asked, why didn't someone tell me long ago? What a bunch of beauties.

Yesterday's esophagram and NP visit went well. The images showed no dilation with band in proper position. That, and because it had been giving me signals for several months, "we" gave me more saline. I feel the effect and it's good. We'll see if the band truly can be pressed into service again before considering revision.
