  1. Thank you everyone!
  2. I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic in May of 2007- when I was 23 years old. I've struggled with having good numbers, taking 2000 mg of metformin a day I. Addition to glimiperide and I also tried invokana. I had my sleeve done on March 4th of this year. I have not taken any diabetes medication since the second week after my surgery. This morning my fasting blood sugar was 79! I have not seen numbers that low, even with medication ever! Needed to share with someone!
  3. Good Morning! Weight this morning is 178.6.
  4. I know I am late to the party, but have to ask. When you first lost a significant amount of weight, enough so that you needed new bras, did you get measured first? I need some desperately but feel overwhelmed going into a store and having no idea what size to pick. Started as a 38 DDD. Think I may be a 36 c now but not sure.
  5. A couple of co workers said to me... "Wow you're husband must be really happy now". Gee thanks, because he wasn't happy before? I can only make him happy if I am a smaller size?
  6. Celebrate vitamins has a chewable calcium citrate 500mg one. Cherry tart flavor is not too bad.
  7. I would like to join. Goal weight will be 165.
  8. I was searching for itching and came across this post. I had the sleeve done 1 month ago (March 4 2015) and experience slight itching throughout the day but as soon as I lay down at night I experience severe itching. It's all over too but no rash or hives. I am scratching myself so hard that it leaves marks and am even bleeding in some places. I changed my sheets tonight just to make sure that it's not something with that. Anyone have any ideas?
  9. I agree it sounds like a cyst on your ovary possibly. Please keep us updated! Hope it subsides soon!
  10. I feel pressure too in my belly and my chest. Very uncomfortable feeling. Started soft/puréed foods a week ago. Getting about half way through a cup of yogurt. If I try to do more than that I get that feeling.
  11. I also find clearance racks are good choices too, especially at places that give you "money" to use in the future. I found 3 pairs of pants at kohl's for about 25 dollars. I know it's a little more expensive than goodwill but I also thought it was a good choice, especially for work clothes.
  12. This happened to me tonight at work... In a room with the CEO of my company and my boss. I didn't pass out but was on the way... Never felt that way before. Headache, nauseas, dizziness like the room was moving and finally stars and blackness. Made it to a chair before I hit the floor thank goodness. But I believe this is from dehydration. Been sipping on Powerade zero but guess not enough. Scary and embarrassing.
  13. Same thing. It took me about 5 days to go but since then it's been watery and it hits suddenly. Almost have to run in order to make it.
  14. I had all the same symptoms- I still am having a little trouble sleeping because I am a tummy/side sleeper too. I still have itchy incisions. And I was going to say you should wait for the mall... Stick close to your house. I did the mall on my 4th day post op and it killed me. Today on my 11th day post op I walked through Walmart and the grocery store with no problem... Just slower than normal.
  15. My sense of smell is so much stronger too, to the point that someone can walk in the room and be maybe 5 feet away and I'm able to tell them what they were eating. Lol freaks my husband out when he's been eating chips or something.
  16. I am 10 days post op, at the end of the month we have a birthday dinner for a friend at Fogo De Chao... A Brazilian steakhouse with endless meat... I am so nervous about being there with everyone eating tons of food and I have a protein shake.
  17. Good question. I just started protein shakes today and I drank half of a banana cream shake from GNC. I tried to finish it for dinner but couldn't because it was too sweet. Not sure what I should try next. I do have some premier protein chocolate and pure protein vanilla in the pantry but am nervous about their sweetness as well.
  18. I've had a little nausea as well ( sleeved on 3/4). The past few days I have noticed a lot of nausea after taking my multivitamin. Some food smells also get to me but not too much.
  19. I sneezed pretty hard the afternoon and felt pain near one of the incisions on the right side of my belly button. I continued to feel some pain for a few hours and I just checked and saw some reddish blood under the steri strips. I think I may have busted one of the sutures. I am 1 week 2 days post op. Anyone have this happen?
  20. Did anyone experience dehydration at the time of their 1st follow up appointment? What happened? I have been having trouble getting in 64oz of fluid everyday. Tomorrow is my 1st follow up. I am nervous about what will/ may happen.
  21. I came home from the hospital on Friday and my husband invites friends over on Saturday to visit with me. He went out and bought doughnuts, cookies, mozzarella sticks, popcorn chicken and potato skins... I was livid with him. If the people are coming to see me and they truly care about me and what I am going through they wouldn't care to have that food there. We weren't throwing a party, just have visitors wishing me well. My friend did say something to him that night that he didn't need to do that, they understood what I was going through so I think he understood.
  22. I agree, it's from your body adjusting to the new diet. I had it too. Also got a very dry mouth and was constantly guzzling down water.
  23. I love this show too and it actually is one of the reasons I considered the surgery! I had the sleeve done last Wednesday (3-4) an watched it in my room that night at the hospital. My nurse couldn't believe it!
  24. I took my metformin ER tonight for the first time since surgery. Took a couple of big gulps to go down. A few minutes later I took my pain pill which is tiny. I noticed that it felt like one was stuck in the back of my throat. I continued to sip water to get it down but no help. I also tried to see if I could get it out and when I did it felt like a huge lump in my throat. Kinda nervous to go to bed like this. Anyone else have this happen?
